Please consider another company before going to this one! The owner of David is horrible. He's rarely in Baltimore and a relies on another company to sell his product and also install. The other company is experience, but does not explain exactly what they are ordering for you or I wouldn't have had the issue I had with the blinds/shutters. I have in my house. I started this project in March 2025 did not get any installation for over four months and was given all types of excuses from the owner David. He then discounted me some money off of My order because of how long it was taking used every excuse as a delay by the vendor delay by the VP of the vendor, etc.. The shutters that were installed were made to supposedly tilt both ways and is why they don't close completely, which I was never asked that question my other shutters in the rest of my house are not made that way and closed and block out lots of light. They also have framing from the top and the bottom that hide 11 inches of light coming into my house instead of just putting another slat in the shutter and making the top and the bottom only 3 to 3 1/2 inches. David then stated after I refuse to pay any more money because he said I didn't have to until they were fixed. He took over six weeks and still never communicated to me until I wrote a review and then that's when he again spoke up. Again, giving me excuses that he was waiting for the item to come in. This gentleman should not own a business because he gives most of his money away to fix the problems that he calls because he has lack of communication and doesn't properly order the product or higher the right subcontractors to help him out. Run, do not walk away from this business. David is the owner and he is disrespectful, unprofessional and requires frequent reminders to do his job timely and correctly. He accidentally sent me a text that made fun of me while communicating about pricing. When I questioned him, he did not apologize. He took the text down, but I had already taken a screenshot. The only reason that I went ahead with the purchase was the couple that came to show me the products and help me make decisions were wonderful. Milagro was always available to me and answered all the questions David did not. When I called after 6 weeks of waiting for the blinds I asked David to call me, not to text me. He texted me back with one word answers and messages like "NP". He told me the reason he didn't call and was texting with one word answers was because his brother was in the hospital. Reading other reviews here, I feel as if he makes excuses for his poor unprofessional business behavior. When I heard nothing for another 7 days, I reached out again. I asked him to call me. He promised he would but he never did. Milagro called me to schedule my install. I will NEVER use this man's company again. Good thing he has Milagro and her husband, hope they make the money they deserve for keeping David afloat here in Baltimore. It's a shame because I have lots of other windows that need treatments. We had a several of our rooms fitted with various types of window treatment from The Blinds Side a couple years ago. That includes shutters for a bay window area, cellular shade for a large picture window, and solar shades for two sliding glass doors. The entire process from consultation, measuring, color / texture selection options, pricing, and installation was seamless. We love them and use them every day. A couple days ago we noticed the cellular shade was hanging a little off-level. So I called The Blinds Side to ask if there was a simple fix. They ended up FaceTiming with me to see the situation, and then had me turn three little pieces on the bottom of the shade with a screwdriver until it was level. Problem solved! So this prompted me to ask about shade options for the remaining room that we didn't have them do earlier. They came out the next day and made measurements and I had quotes for various options that evening. I had an awful experience with David from the Blind Side. After placing an order for custom blinds-I sent him a deposit for half of the total cost. They never showed up for my installation appointment and when I called to see what happened they then told me that my blinds were on backorder. After this he promised I would be priority and then never followed up on letting me know an estimated time of arrival. He ignored my requests for more information and then ultimately continued to ignore my request for a refund. I had to call him from a different number to get him to answer me. He then claimed he did issue me a refund and I was being impatient-I never received it (after 10 business days) and never received proof from his end of the refund, even though I had requested that he send me proof. I again requested the refund and only received it from him when I told him I would have to file a legal claim against him. It was an awful experience the entire way around. read more

Great product, poor business practice. Unfortunately our credit card was double charged for the blinds we ordered and have waited over two months for the charge to be reversed (which we were told countless times it was). We ultimately had to submit a claim with our CC company. read more

One of my blinds broke and it needed to be repaired (it was stuck in the down position). Even though I bought my blinds from a different company (which is now out of business), Dave showed up on time for the appointment, repaired the blind in less than five minutes, and did it free of charge. Prior to the appointment, Dave was very responsive to my calls and texts explaining the issue and setting up the appointment. I will definitely contact him again if I need any of my blinds repaired! I was in the market for a few months for window shades. It was something I had to do as my mom insisted on it lol. I pretty much priced out and met with just about every vendor in the Baltimore city area. When I met David from the Blind Side, I had a strong instinct that I would be going with his company. He was very professional, but made me feel like I was an old friend. He had a very broad variety of items and fabrics to choose from. His prices were very fair. I set up an appointment and representatives where there early. They were super friendly, had masks, social distanced, and provided recommendations. I had already been a client when I moved in and their representative could not have been more helpful even if he tried........About one and half year later, I decided it was needed to replace the windows in my condo. The contractor specified an amount to uninstall the blinds and restore them once the windows were replaced.....well, I arrived to find such not done.......a call to The Blinds Side resulted in a speedy representative to arrive, assess the new situation, make rapid recommendations to properly accommodate the new situation, make most appropriate recommendations and, for a much smaller fee than I could have ever expected, obtain replacement casings to accommodate for the new situation, expect arrival of installer of new casings, and, despite the expected COVID delays, arrive at the scheduled time, install all 8 blinds back to their space with appropriate casings and....VOILA !!!!!!!!! Even accounting for the expected delays associated with special ordering parts and such......once more....The Blinds Side comes through with impeccable attention and service. We called David to see about adding blackout shades to our kids rooms. Service was pretty incredible: David came over the same day I called, then came back to finalize the order based on how much we wanted to spend. Aaron is the installer and has been doing this for years and years - he rolled in and said, "i recognize this - I actually installed your original blinds as well five years ago!" He had done our neighbors too. Once the blinds were installed our kids slept until 9am that saturday morning! Wonderful local shop with excellent service and expertise. We live in Fells Point and while this wasn't the cheapest option, I'll take the service and competence any day, so the value was there. read more
