Looks like a nice hotel but " lacking in customer service and processes. I made a reservation on Hotels.com and they cancelled my reservation next day "at my request". When I followed up with property I was told they are fully booked with wedding and Hotels.com aka "third party" should have not allowed my reservation to go through. Could is be that ....hotel's interface with "third party" is actually a hotel responsibly too! My experience at the Blanche? Beautifully strange. I'll explain. First off the hotel is as beautiful as advertised. From the lobby to the grand staircases, the artwork to the perfectly polished wood. It's all gorgeous. The rooms are also very nice too. Historic yet well maintained. The bedding and decor is spectacular, and even though the rooms are east-facing there are blackout blinds to keep that unforgiving morning sun at bay. Now, why the strange part? Because for the two days I was there, I saw ZERO humans in the entire hotel. For starters, everything is automated. My reservation was done online. I got texted an entry code to the property and to my room. And checkout was all via door code and online too. Never in the entire experience from booking to stay, did I speak to or see another human. And for a hotel experience, that's just weird. So, The Blanche. Definitely better than staying at a chain hotel. Great value. Stunning beauty. Eery silence. Finally, let me add this. There are several one star reviews of this place talking about a bar, roaches and no parking - I can say with confidence those reviews are not accurate whatsoever. This place is clean, quiet and very easy to park at, in fact I parked about 10 feet from the front door for free. read more

A stunning venue. They do things through air bnb for this business. I found that easy since I already know how to navigate the site. It's a historic building dating back 100 years. A lake city landmark. This facility is utilized in many different ways spreading from living, renting or hosting a wedding. We have family near by and wanted to celebrate our one year anniversary somewhere nice. The Blanche exceeded our expectations. The property is gorgeous with multiple floors filled with glamorous/modern furniture. This location is perfect for weddings with the various units your family can rent and the stunning property. The price was very fair for the lovely room. All of the rooms are newly renovated with a kitchen, tv, small living room and bathroom. It was perfect for a little night away. The bed was the highlight for me, amazingly comfy. The unit is also stocked with all things you might need like utensils or coffee. The only small things I would suggest is better internet and napkins for guest in the room. Otherwise the room was very accommodating. There's not much to do in Lake City but it's walking distance to Halpatter Brewing Company and 15 mins from lots of restaurants in Lake Ci. It's only 30 minutes for the beloved Itchetucknee Springs. We also felt very safe here with the code to get in the building and a code for our personal room that changes after you check out. Overall it was a nice stay and we would definitely come back. read more

The Blanche is an important and historic part of downtown Lake City. This area of downtown is very charming, right next to a lake. I booked my stay here through their website, but booking is also on airbnb. The rooms are really modern, with fabulous furnishings. I can definitely understand why so many people book their weddings and events here. The rooms are a bit pricey for the area, but definitely worth it, as the space is wonderfully fanciful. All of the amenities and bathrooms are very modern and updated. The space is clean and mostly unused. Parking in downtown Lake City is easy, and I also dined at some of the local breweries and restaurants within walking distance. I was born and lived many of my early years in Lake City, so the town holds a special place in my heart. read more

Save your money! To start no parking you have to cross a busy street so if you have a lot of luggage it's a real pain! No staff on site , no breakfast or even vending machines, no pool , bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in!! Worst part the hotel smells really musty! Love roaches and periodically broken elevators? The Blanche in Lake City is the place for you. I lived in the apartment side of the building from 10/21 - 6/23. The Pros: Beautiful old building with high ceilings and exposed brick. Close to a lot of shops and eateries you can walk to. The Cons Someone was using marijuana on the floor and you could smell it through the HVAC system. Management just sent emails about it. There is a bar downstairs and it will be loud until 2 or 3 in the morning with drunken people screaming. I've found dead roaches in my room a couple of times. Clearly, someone has roaches and they haven't fixed the problem. Several reviews mention roaches. The elevator is broken and needs to be reset. During the week of move out this happened twice. If you are coming home with groceries, don't expect an elevator. If you contact the apartment manager, she won't respond, acknowledge receipt. I used to work in residence life and if I had failed to respond to tenants, I would have been fired. read more

Hands down THE most gorgeous hotel I've ever stayed at. The chandeliers are breathtaking and the grand staircases make anyone walking up feel royal. The historic charm really gives this place character and had this space been restored when I got married, it would be an amazing place to host a wedding. My room was beautiful and clean and the bed was super comfy!!!! However, I gave it 3 stars because staying at the hotel part of The Blanche was a little frustrating. Upon arrival, I was informed to park out in the street or across the street at City Hall. Didn't quite feel comfortable with my car out in the open of a downtown like that, I wish there was some kind of garage space for guests. Then as I was leaving, I got a "courtesy flier" on my windshield, thankfully not a ticket, saying I wasn't allowed to park in the City Hall parking lot anymore. Next, the whole point of my trip was to get away to a quiet spot for a restful retreat. Upon arrival, with the self check in, I did not see the first person in the lobby or hallways, so I thought this was going to be great for peace and quiet. But at night when I was trying to sleep, the hallways suddenly became filled with people being quite loud. And the biggest issue with the noise was, there is no carpet anywhere in the hotel so that made it even LOUDER with all the echoes carrying through the open spaces. Thank goodness I wasn't there when a wedding event was being held, or there would have been no chance at sleep. With all the echoing, you literally hear every voice, every roll of the suitcases on floors, every pen drop in the lobby. The next morning there was a conference going on in the banquet room, and the loud speaker was projected into the lobby, so unwillingly I heard every minute of the speakers at the conference downstairs that morning before I got up and left the building to get away from it all. The other sound issue was my room 212 was overlooking Marion Street and I felt like I was in New York City with all the noise of drive by traffic through out the night. Several times trucks with loud mufflers would race up and down Marion St. waking me up often. Also there are no blackout curtains in the room. Once the sun rose, with the thin curtains, it was super bright in my room and I wasn't able to sleep in like I was hoping too. All that to say, there were great restaurants near by to walk to. Even a fun brewery with a comedy show I went to right across the street. And if you love interior design like I do, the beauty of the attention to detail in the design throughout the building makes it a worthwhile stay at The Blanche. Just put the bathroom fan on at night to drown out the noise! And bring a sleeping mask. read more

My family and I rented two rooms (rooms 213 and 214) at The Blanche for a short stay on 6/19 and 6/20 of this year, and we didn't want to leave! The hotel is elegantly restored with great attention to detail right down to the original tile in the lobby. Not a single thing was out of place - not even one crystal missing off any chandelier! The lobby and rooms are exquisitely decorated with modern furnishings (including bedside tables with charging stations) and decor which complement the hotel's original splendor. Not only was there great attention to detail in the lobby, but the rooms even had Edison light bulbs! I never knew I could be so excited about light bulbs! Haha! But they, along with the other touches made me feel like I was in the middle of the glamour of the 1920s. And the beds were so incredibly comfortable! We slept like babies! Our rooms on the 2nd floor overlooked Marion Street with very little road noise (on a Friday and Saturday night) - nowhere near enough to keep us awake but just enough to keep us excited about being downtown. And the convenience of walking to the entertainment and dining downtown couldn't be beat! The hotel is just small enough that the main doors are lock-coded for entry, so with the code, we felt like the whole place belonged to us (even with others staying in the hotel) and were confident we were in a place where we were safe and secure. This certainly was a fabulous alternative to the hotels out on I-75, much cleaner and definitely more grand! Dennille was the very best I've ever worked with when securing a location. She worked long hours late into the night and on the weekend to personally accommodate my family's needs. And her excitement and knowledge about the hotel and its history was unbeatable! You won't get that kind of attention out on I-75 or anywhere else, either. We will no doubt be staying here every time we visit family and friends in Lake City and Gainesville. read more
