Need more places like this in Pueblo! Stopped in at 10am on a Friday for a speciality coffee and quiches. First, the location is great right next to a big beautiful walkable tree shade covered park. Nice big covered patio seating area and several different inside seating areas as well. I was greeted promptly by the friendly employees who took my order immediately. Unfortunately they were out of quiche so I ordered the avacado toast and a veggie sandwich with The Nikki coffee. Coffee was out in 5 minutes, delicious and not overly sweet which I appreciate,, with food to follow in another 5 minutes. The business is clearly conscious with the type of packaging they choose which I also apprecite. Great local business! Super cute shop with locally made art and goods for sale as well as games and entertainment for diners. Also, I am not gluten free and the bread is delicious to me. The food was so flavorful and my salad was enough for two meals! I got the Blue Cheese Matters salad and a white Chocolate raspberry scone! The scone had a sweet crispy outer crust that was perfect for the moist inside! Service was fast for my lunch to go. It is a nice place for lunch with indoor and outdoor seating. This was the first time to visit; close to Mineral Palace Park and Parkview Hospital. I had an appointment at the hospital, so thought I'd give it a try. The outdoor patio was nice and I like eating outdoors in good weather. What I didn't expect, you must go inside and order at the counter. Okay, not anything I couldn't do. Nice guy behind the counter. Ordered the "apple, chicken, walnut" salad. Arrived in no time; good portion. Now I just had the "apple Pecan" salad at Wendy's a few days ago and their's was better and $5 less expensive. The reason I gave this place a three; no bar, self order and the salad, although good, had "too" many walnuts and raisins. The dressing was good, but need more chicken and greens and fewer walnuts and raisins! Probably won't go again. read more

What a delightful gem we found hidden in Pueblo, Co. on our way through after a mountain bike ride. The food is fresh and delicious. My BLT tasted as yummy as if Mom had made it with love on a summer afternoon. Both the sun dappled patio surrounded by flowers and the interior are comfortable to eat in. Get the Scones!!! Tucked in a residential center, this third place coffee shop is definitely worth the stop. Nice change of pace from the commercialized shops like Starbucks. Very modern chic decor and upbeat vibe with a few tables inside and an outside patio as well. They have a small breakfast and lunch menu, pastry window, and the usual coffee/latte favorites. I ordered a breve hot latte, a gluten free chewy chocolate and walnut bar, and the BLT toast. The latte was smooth and delicious as a breve should be. The chocolate bar was heavenly. One of the best gluten free treats I have had. The BLT toast was also good and the bacon had a wonderful flavor. This place is definitely worth a try if you are local and a definite stop when I am in town. Highly recommend and so happy to see a family owned business with quality food options and delicious drinks. read more

Just one of the litany) called the police and had me trespassed because I showed displeasure at some blonde bink putting her entire, unwashed hand into my drink cup right in front of me, and asked for a refund, while refusing to accept the septic drink in front of me. I did not expect Pueblo to have something like this and I loved them from the moment we parked our car and walked towards Blackbox. An upcycled gas station store (restrooms are outside keeping in theme with a gas station), the black and white decor with wooden tables screams chic, fun and young! Inside, their shelves of teas, spices, peanut butter among other things attracts you immediately. Their menu is limited but interesting. I got the Herb Pesto turkey sandwich while my friend got the salami and olive sandwich. She also got a Jones soda and I got the Italian tea soda. Both sandwiches were delicious, but I liked mine more than hers (a little too olive-y for me). The pesto sauce was delicious. The baguette was hard though. That's primarily why I'm not giving them 5 stars. Took quite a bit to bite into the bread. We got a chocolate croissant as desert and it was very nice. I'm a fan of plain or savory croissants so I only had the plain croissant portion. The Jones soda was surprisingly delicious! Not sure why more places don't have it - just as tasty as the regular branded Coke or Pepsi and you can email them a picture to put on their cans :) The Italian tea soda deserves a whole paragraphs of itself - carbonated water, cream, cardemom, tea and syrup with lots of ice. Yum!! I'm an Indian tea person and I usually hate pretty much any other tea but I took a chance and it was so so good! The perfect drink to have when you need an iced caffeine drink! I was in town on business and was looking for a quick bite. Vibes are immaculate. Just the kind of low energy and cozy you would want early in the morning. Service was very nice. They accommodated non-dairy request for my drink. My piece of toast was just crusty enough and just soft enough for a perfect loaded toast. I couldn't say anything better about this place. Breakfast sandwiches 4/10. Bread tasted like it was older or frozen, and it was overtoasted. Cheese was half melted gloopy mess which hid overcooked bacon. It was a bad morning for the chef....and consequently us as well. The pastries were small, expensive and had an interesting texture and flavor 5/10. Not the best experience and worse was the $21 for two small breakfast sandwiches and two coffees and $12 for a small muffin and piece of cake both approximately 2" x 3"...they were tiny. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose...as consumers we lost today. But we did try to contribute to local businesses so we feel good about that. Oh, and the coffee was good, 9/10. read more

The coffee here is AMAZING! The staff is so nice and the ambiance is very chic. I found this place yesterday when I was driving through Pueblo and got a dirty chai latte with oat milk. I was really impressed with the quality of the drink and how delicious the chai was. It wasn't spicy or vanilla but somewhere in between both. we're so lucky to have several third wave coffee shops in Pueblo, and this one is my favorite. it's a modern industrial vibe with nice furnishings and creative decor. the patio's huge and heated. they use organic milk, and beans from Novo and Intelligentsia... solid choices. all their coffee syrups are organic. the lavender is particularly enticing. they have a large breakfast and lunch menu. homemade soups, sandwiches, breads, salads. also delicious pastries, cookies, and pie. please consider supporting family owned independent coffee shops rather than the big chains. everything's better here than you-know-where. read more

A very good, though limited menu of breakfast sandwiches. The coffees and teas are good. I had a heavy cream latte which was rich and tasty, and not as bitter as a Starbucks. Service was friendly, and the order taker was always listening, and seeking to give more than one needed, but not pushy. I am a frequent customer of The Blackbox Cafe and it is my favorite coffee shop. The food is awesome! Great place for healthy options. But if you want to indulge, there are delectable pastries too. The coffee is the best! My drink of choice is a Hot Matt. Great place for meetings with friends and business relationships. The owner and staff are helpful, professional, and friendly. Some of the cafe's shelves display local art for sale. Grab a coffee, healthy snack or meal, or a gift for the person who has everything. Options are endless. read more

What a remarkable coffee and breakfast experience to find in Pueblo. Just back from Santa Fe, we'd experienced an incredible level of caffeine and interesting breakfast options. The Blackbox latte was just as good, beautifully presented and lush. I had the morning glory soufflé the counter team recommended and a cranberry white chocolate scone. There was a side of sour cream with green chilies and homemade salsa for the soufflé. TO DIE FOR. In fact, I also had to buy another scone! Venue is outstanding and filled with sunshine and seating. This place has come under new management in the last week and is not the place it used to be. I paid $14 for half a salad, cup of soup and iced tea. The salad was horrible, I couldn't even eat it- wilted lettuce and liquidy blue cheese dressing. The soup was also very watery. Stopped by on a whim. The pictures looked very good and organic options were a definite plus. Turns out it's under new ownership. The menus are different than those previously posted. You pay for what you get, but it's worth it. I love this place! It's the only environment like it in Pueblo. Most coffee shops in Pueblo are either dark and decked out in secondhand tables & couches or they're a Starbucks. This place feels like a coffee shop you'd see in Denver or even some I've been to in LA. It is certainly on the pricey side, so I don't go here as much as I'd like. But I like meeting friends here to have good coffee, great food (seriously. The sandwiches are all so good), and do some co-working (the Wi-Fi is pretty fast). If you enjoy a hipstery vibe in your coffee shops (which I do), this is THE spot in Pueblo to come. read more

What a remodel! Come to this place and tell me that it used to be an old gas station. Tasteful, fresh and modern is what you will find now. Plenty of covered outdoor seating with music adjacent to Pueblo's mature Mineral Palace Park means that the atmosphere is delightful. Despite it being the Grand Opening Day service was quick. Perfection!!! A "Blackbox" sign caught my eye and I stopped for THE iced latté that I literally needed; I'm on the last leg of a 16-hour drive. This place has been here for awhile, so I regret that it took so long to give it a try. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed the visit! Really nice, sunny atmosphere with great music... and the employees were outstanding. We had the quiche, hummus toast, and a breakfast wrap, as well as a latte and a chai tea.
