I spent the day visiting stores near my home and was less than empresses with the service I was receiving. One would give me the time of day, another had me gear that didn't fit. I then remembered the service I received last year at Bingham in Sandy. I was hoping it was the same level and not just a friendly associate that day last year. After entering there were a few customers being helped, I was greeted and told they would be with me shortly, feel free to look around or relax on the couch. I told them I was in the market for shoes and peddles. After asking a few questions I had a couple options for shoes and what to look for in fit. They wanted me to stand up and walk a bit as the fit is different than just sitting. Time for peddles. I was given to pros and cons of each style and a brief tutorial on how to practice clipping and unclipping. Instead of trying to upsell on items like footbeds I was given a few things to look out for. Needless to say this will be were I shop for apparel and accessories. Well worth the extra 20 minute drive.

Service meets expertise!…read more I'm a mountain biker that just got into road biking - I walked in here with about 2 dozen questions and in need of lots of help (and honestly lots of hand holding!); Cottonwood Cyclery absolutely exceeded my expectations. The lady that helped me fully dedicated over 20 minutes to walking around the shop helping me make a list of all the equipment, clothing, tools, and supplies I'll need for my newly purchased road bike. She also spoke with me at length about cleaning and riding techniques, as well as tips and tricks from her own cycling experience. She was also able to recommend a third party to properly fit my bike to me, which she uses herself. I didn't look around at the new bikes too much, but I did notice they had a selection of mountain bikes, e-bikes, and road bikes. They've got tools, bags, shoes, cleaners and lubricants, CO2 tire inflators, tubes, and everything else you'd ever need. They were out of a few clothing items due to shortages from high demand during COVID, but they were still able to provide recommendations about what to look for. That undivided attention was so valuable and helpful - I couldn't have asked for anything more than the experience I had here. This isn't the closest bike shop to me, but it is 100% worth the drive. AND I'd like to mention they are open an hour later than most other bike shops, which is so appreciated and convenient when I rushing to get some shopping done after my work day. They made a fresh cut on the bottom to help with water uptake and loaded the tree into the car for us. Years ago we also bought a stand from them; instead of the usual pins, it has a single post in the middle of the well. Since their trees have holes drilled in the bottom, you just place the tree onto the post and you're done! It's so much easier than trying to twist the pins to hold the tree in place. Highly recommend the stand. They're also offering a special coupon for $20 off at Root'd across the street with a tree purchase!

I noticed the rear disk hydraulic brakes weren't working at all. I looked at the hours of Hangar 15 bikes. It said they were open until 7:00 pm. I realized if I hurried I could get there by about 6:30pm I got down there and they were able to fix the brakes by adding brake fluid in under 10 minutes. it was almost completely empty. I asked him how much I owed him and he said nothing. I will be taking all my future bike repairs to Hangar 15. All the employees are super friendly. It's a great place for bike repairs and new bikes.

The shop is located above the Cottonwood Cyclery in one room, which is a bit small, but contains a LOT of skateboard decks, along with bearings, trucks, and other accessories to customize your board. The staff member who helped me was knowledgeable about the products and recommended some bearings to me for my board. I have a feeling that he owns the place and runs the whole store nearly by himself, because he answered a phone call while ringing me up.
