On Wednesday we took them in hoping to get them back on Monday before our trip on Tuesday. Mike explained that they were swamped and about 2 weeks out on service. We understood. I didn't know they were closed on Mondays and blamed myself for not being better prepared. My wife is the kindest person I know and was gracious but I think Mike could tell she was disappointed. Without pressure from us Mike said, "I'm gonna make sure they get fixed before I leave on Friday. So you can pick them up on Saturday." I just went by and got them. Not only are they tuned and running great the price was very reasonable. I will definitely recommend these guys to everyone. Alvin and Kendell Sell

Today, I found the most wonderful small community bike shop in West Greenville. Whether you know…read morehow to repair your own bike and are just looking for a friendly place with the tools and resources for you to do the work, want to learn how to repair your own bike, but need help, or you want to have someone do it for you, you should give them a try. I came into town for the USAT Duathlon National Championships with my wife and daughter. At the last minute, it was discovered that the front wheel of my wife's bike had a little play in the axle which needed adjustment for safety. After being quoted a ridiculous price to do the work by one shop, I decided to do it myself. When I was on my way to buy the tools, I saw the Village Wrench sign as we drove by and decided to stop. When I told them the tools I was looking for, rather than telling me where I could buy them or how much they would charge, the proprietor simply brought them over and asked me if needed help holding the wheel while I worked on it. I was surprised at first, but as I worked on the wheel over the next 25 or 30 minutes removing the nuts, the axel spindle and ball bearings, cleaning everything, then packing with grease and reassembling, I learned more about them. They serve the community offering people the opportunity to learn bike maintenance and repair, refurbishing donated bicycles, and, if I understood correctly, even allow people to earn a bike through their own efforts. They are not a conventional bike shop in terms of having lots of brand new bikes and accessories on display to sell though they do have a variety of bikes for sale at modest prices which I assume are ones that were donated and refurbished by them. We we're told that they operate as a nonprofit and rely on community support including donated bicycles and accessories like the helmet we bought. We found what appeared to be a friendly, harmonious environment in the shop between the proprietor and the two young men also working there. They were just what we needed when we needed them, and from what we could see deserve all the support they can get and then some from the surrounding community.

On my last (final) visit I was not helped by him but rather by his business partner. I generally do my own bike wrenching but things weren't going as planned and needed a different tool to finish the job. Knowing that it would take maybe a minute of time I asked if he could help me out with my bike and was informed that he wanted me to leave it there until he could get to it later in the week. Surprised by his answer I asked if I could borrow it for a minute. No. Can I rent it? No. Can I buy one off of you? No. He sat there smugly and lost a customer. I went to a different shop that helped me out in a couple minutes as I expected and ended up purchasing that tool for my collection. Unfortunately for these guys, small businesses rely on repeat customers and loyalty. What they lost out on is someone who has dropped between $18-20k in the past 3 years on bikes. Moral of the story, don't be a jerk to customers just "because I can".

I went in for a 2024 Trek Rail, and they walked me through every aspect of MTB riding--from bike selection to maintenance and safety. They properly sized me and my wife for the perfect fit and even educated us on helmet sizing. My wife picked up a Marlin 5, and I went with a hybrid bike since I'm getting older with a bad knee. I haven't been on a bike in over 10 years, and I'm still recovering from a leg injury and a back fracture from two years ago. I need a lot of exercise to lose weight and improve my knees, but it's a catch-22--riding helps, but the knee pain makes it tough! Thankfully, the team helped me find the right bike for comfort and fitness. They have all the latest, high-tech models, whether you're a beginner or experienced rider, all based on your budget and riding style. No pressure, just great service and expert advice! The service was amazing, and the staff was super knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about the experience. About 3 weeks later, I realized that my initial bike choice wasn't for me. I wasn't happy with the Claris groupset. So, I went to the TREK Greenville location and spoke with Gerry and Bay a couple of times. They helped me with not only information but also exchanged my AL 2 for an AL 5 with the 105 groupset. I'm so happy with every interaction I've had since. There was no sales pressure at all. They were genuinely curious about what I needed. I ended up going back and Bay helped me pick out a good set of carbon wheels with GP5000 tires. The mechanic who set them up tubeless was great too, but I couldn't remember their name. The tires and tubeless setup have made a huge difference in how comfortable my bike is to ride! In my opinion, this should be the first upgrade of any road bike. It's been an expensive fitness journey, but it's totally worth it. I'm so grateful for the relationships I'll continue to build at my local bike shop. Thanks, guys! I really appreciate you all.
