On Wednesday we took them in hoping to get them back on Monday before our trip on Tuesday. Mike explained that they were swamped and about 2 weeks out on service. We understood. I didn't know they were closed on Mondays and blamed myself for not being better prepared. My wife is the kindest person I know and was gracious but I think Mike could tell she was disappointed. Without pressure from us Mike said, "I'm gonna make sure they get fixed before I leave on Friday. So you can pick them up on Saturday." I just went by and got them. Very friendly and helpful people and the bike ride was great; the Swamp Rabbit Trail goes through downtown Travelers Rest, which is a charming area; once you get a few miles outside of downtown Greenville, and particularly once you're past Furman, the trail is clear and you can get moving. I live in Hawai'i but am on a pit stop here in SC for a few days before continuing my trek to Maine for work and was in the market for an all road/gravel bike. My father and I went to 4 bike shops between Greenville and TR the last shop recommended the Marin Fourcorners and found Speedshop as a dealer. We called to see if there was my size in stock, unfortunately there wasn't. This is where Dave's customer service skills went above and beyond that of any of the other retailers. He personally called to other Marin dealers across the country to see who could drop ship the bike to SC. He kept us informed with every phone call he made. And was very willing to help with my search even though I would be a one time customer at his shop. My father rides both Mt and road bikes and due to Dave's outstanding customer service and help with this process he's making the switch to shop with speedshop in the future. So let me understand this; a bike shop that sells at full retail is going to nickel and dime their customers over which card they prefer? For what? Savings a few cents? I can't imagine giving up Membership Rewards points when buying a nice MTB or accessories. Especially when you can order off the internet using whichever payment method you prefer.
