I'd give them five stars but my experience on Thursday 7/13/17 was just awful. I got stuck on a road leading to Readstown and there was construction and traffic. I got into the store parking lot at 10 minutes to 5p and there was a sign up that said closed. I thought it was up by mistake and went to open the door and it was 6 minutes to 5pm (closing time). The old lady practically chased me out of there and yelled "no we're closed". I would think that they were stay open longer in the summer with tourists traveling. I left heartbroken. You think they would honor me since I'm a patron wanting to spend money in their store... Especially since I drove up from Chicago. Otherwise their two locations in Readstown are normally packed with reasonably priced antiques and goodies.

It's a very cute shop, full of home decor items, some vintage but mostly newer. Allow time to browse because there's a lot here! They also have snacks, coffee, beer and wine. After shopping, we really enjoyed sitting on the deck, sipping wine, and enjoying the view.

We stopped in while exploring the Great River Road and Driftless region. There are literally books everywhere, in the best possible way! The books are organized in sections with signs labeling the genres. There is an "antique" aroma, which adds to the cool ambience! I planned to just look around while my gf shopped, and I ended up buying four books, priced $5-$6! Make it a point to visit here whether you're a book person or not!

What a neat store! I'm finding it difficult to accurately describe, but it definitely has a fur trapper theme. If Willy Wonka made all things fur instead of Candy, this would be his place. I never knew that there could be so many choices for a warm fur hat. I even started to relive my youth with trying on Davey Crocket and Daniel Boone coon skin hats. When I finally decided on a natural beaver trooper, they made sure it fit and customized it with adding a toggle to make it easier to use the ear flaps. The hat fits perfectly, and to insure it lasts many years they included a nice hat box too! The shop is hard to find and may fool even your best GPS. Don't worry, they are used to people getting lost and give excellent directions. So, when your in Wisconsin and need a warm hat give them a visit.
