Great place to shop. Owner went well above and beyond to help me with my purchase. Drove four hours and it was worth every bit! Thank you

I love antiquing. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear I was an old lady. I get a serious…read morerush from bargain hunting and I love kitschy knickknacks. I especially love when they are affordable, which the majority of the things carried here seemed to be. They rent out space to various dealers, so there's a large assortment of vintage beer steins, art deco dish sets, tin signs, ceramic figures, books and much, much more. The store is spacious and set up in no particular order. I had seen a billboard on the side of the highway that gave vague directions (get off at exits 115 or 116 and turn left). I asked if this was the antique shop featured in the ad, because I had forgotten the name, and didn't even get the entire question out before I was corrected that this was *the* antique shop. I'm not sure if the woman working there is blissfully unaware that there's another antique shop just around the corner, but she was very friendly and eager to help me find whatever I might be looking for. I told her I was just there to browse and was left alone. Some of the items seemed a bit overpriced. I'm not sure if they think some of the things are worth more than they really are or if I'm not that good at pricing collectible objects. There was a 7pc Russian nesting doll going for almost $100 (that seems to be about right as an import, but I gotta scoff at it since I was able to buy them for ~$20 in Ukraine) and a few other things that caught my attention and held my interest just long enough to flip over the price tag and quickly walk away. However, I don't know how much the owner of the shop really has to do with marking things. As I mentioned, they rent the space out to people, so it's possible each person picks their own price and I can't blame Ruxton for having items outside of my price point.

Basically, a ton of stuff! There is a mix of antiques, craft items, and local trinkets. Multiple levels to go through and every nook and corner is stuffed full of things. Very cool selection and prices were very reasonable. I saw some nice furniture pieces for under $50! I didn't buy anything this time around but when I have more time on my hands, I will stop back and take a deeper look.

This new reincarnation of the antique mall has been open for about 3 years. They're a lot better than the old antique mall. And they have a few things going for them that set them apart from other antique malls in the Midwest. 1. Treasures is huge! It's 2 floors plus a large 3rd floor balcony. Due to the massive size, you're bound to find something you like. 2. The vendors seem to mostly be above average. No lame little cubby holes or slackers. This is a sign of good management and oversight. 3. They have about...maybe...10% craft items throughout. I usually despise seeing this stuff in antique malls. But all of the craft areas I saw were actually very nice and well done. They won me over. 4. Finally, they're family owned. The entire effort is a family affair. I talked to the wife and the husband. And I saw at least a couple of kids running around cleaning stuff and wrapping things for customers. Nice! Treasures Under Sugar Loaf isn't worth driving all the way from Minneapolis. But it's definitely worth the stop if you happen to be in the area. Thanks for a great treasure hunting experience! -Daddy Maxx Retro

Just buyer beware if you are in the market for an estate sale person don't go with Tami. If you have to clear a horder type house Tami is your gal as she will haul away alot of stuff without even trying to sell it. Also, estate sales are supposed to be held on the weekends so more people can attend. Not on a Tuesday and Thursday during the daytime when most people are at work. My folks only made about $1,800 for a very full 3 bedroom two bath house. Sure it was cleaned out at the end but it still causes us much pain to even talk about it today. If you have true treasures and want the actual price that they are worth don't go with this company. If you are ok with getting a dollar or two for something that should be sold for 50 or more than go with Tami. If you want items individually priced Don't go with Tami. If you want a sale on the weekend Don't go with Tami. If you Don't want your heart broken even a year later don't go with Tami. If you have a horder house type of situation yes go ahead with Tami as that is what she really does a glorified garage sale who will not even bother to put the teacups with their matching plates together for the sale. My heart is sad even today as I write this review about my folks sale, I feel like crying.
