Management came out and corrected everything, gave a $20 gift card to my father in law, and gave big discounts to anyone that had issues. They made my son's meal and mine completely free, so I only paid for my wife's meal and daughter's meal. Incredible service, great food. Visited for breakfast on Sunday morning around 8 am. Wasn't busy. Ambiance comparable to a Dennys or IHOP. Perfect for brunch after church. I had a coffee to start. They give you a fresh pot to pour yourself. Ordered a Red White and Blue waffle platter. The waffle was fluffy and came with plenty of fruit for toppings. Great food and service unfortunately they were short staff due to it being Father's Day. Our waitress was terrific though and worked with us. I had the local favorite the Kansas City Omelette with toast and hash browns. Came out hot. I also had their special coffee a cafe iced mocha coffee. Very good. I've eaten here quite a few times. Whilst I usually get the eggs Benedict Florentine I've sampled other meals and have enjoyed most of them. For value for money I would say they have the best eggs Benedict in Topeka. IHOP's are overpriced and pitiful, first watch is expensive but ok, Perkins are also expensive and not as generous. Where the big biscuit falls down in my experience is their coffee is not the greatest, you feel shoulder to shoulder with every other patron in the place, it's crammed and noisy. We've had some issues with service in the past, I.e. four of us crammed on a tiny table and told we couldn't move the condiment tray away to make room, but mostly it's been ok. The food has kept us coming despite those things but it would be a nicer experience if those things could be changed. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Would never recommend to anyone nor would we be going back. Immediately after being sat, the server breaks a coffee cup, never cleaned it up as broken glass is by our feet. Coffee spilled on silverware, had to ask for more silverware when our food was brought out. Sides were atrocious, I don't think you could even call the hash browns "hash browns". They were hard as a rock and no potatoes because they were so burnt. Server brought out the check 5 minutes after getting our food. Asked if we needed boxes AS we were still actively eating. Read the back of our card out loud for everyone to hear. We got seated after another couple, and one of the people were waiting on their food the whole time we were there even though they had ordered before us. Horrible service and not that great of food. My friends and I decided on The Big Biscuit for brunch today. I was first to arrive and was greeted at the hostess stand. I told the gal 3 in my party, she said it would be a 20 minute wait. I assumed there may not have been enough help as there were plenty of tables open. She took my name and number and I sat at the bench right by the hostess stand. There was a few people waiting and they got sat within a few minutes of me waiting. Several other people came in after me and went to the hostess stand and got seated right away. Unless people were waiting in their car there was no one waiting outside and as I stated just a few inside. I think at least 3 groups of people were seated before me-after arriving after me. I said something to my friend and not sure if I was heard because then I received a text message stating my table was waiting. We were sat directly behind where we were waiting and that table was open the entire time. We were greeted by our server who took our drink order as we were still waiting on my other friend. I don't recall her stating her name but she was friendly. We all decided on our breakfast and ordered. It seemed to have taken awhile for our food but everything was fresh and hot. Our server checked on us a few times throughout our meal. The only complaint about our food/drinks was my friend who ordered an Ice Coffee did not like it because it was thick consistency, she did tell the server who explained it was premade. My friend did not drink it-it cost $6 so that was a thumbs down! We all enjoyed our meal, it was very filling. read more

You would think that a place whose namesake includes the word BISCUIT, they would at least be really good at that corner of the market. You would be wrong. In fact, I would say there is very little difference between their offering and the Pillsbury Grands frozen biscuits you can buy at Walmart. I left a Google review that was less than acceptable. They responded to me and wanted more information I sent that to them. They never contacted me. I have gone there four different times I have not once had a consistent meal from them. The first time my chicken fried steak was black and covered with gravy to hide the fact. The second and third times we were served and the waitresses never came back for refills or to see how the food was we saw them at the beginning and when the bill came due. The fourth time we had gone in there with gift cards provided from our last horrible event there. We did not receive anything that resembled service. It was 22 minutes from the time our drinks were empty till the waitress came back to our table the biscuits were Raw dough in the middle how can you have biscuit in your name and not be able to cook a biscuit? This is always a great place when we are craving breakfast. The food is good and there is a huge selection to choose from on the menu. The portions are rather large as well. Coffees not bad either. We have never had bad service here. The wait staff is very friendly. I have not been there once yet when the manager on dusty didn't stop by to ask us how we are doing and then send us off with a friendly farewell. We often bring guests here with us so bigger parties are welcome. The place is pretty big. I haven't ever complained really about it being dirty but I will say, don't set your purse on the floor. Last time I was there my shoes were a little sticky when I left. The wait isn't usually to long and you can call ahead or use yelp to get on their waitlist prior.
