Was really disappointed in how the animals are being treated. No room to roam. The sheep's hooves were so overgrown and they looked like they were in pain. Some were even scared to come get treats from us. The cows had absolutely no room to even move, so basically laying in their own feces, no shade for none of the animals except maybe a little for the horse. Some of the cows were literally bones. No fat in them whatsoever. The hay ride was ok, it once in the patch you literally were able to pick along the road. So much overgrowth and not well kept. The areas to take pictures with our family were disgusting. Everything was covered in cobwebs and thick amounts of dirt. Needed to throw a few Kleenexes and a bag away and not a single garbage can in site. Completely dissatisfied as unused to take my children here a long time ago and wanted to do this with my grandson. Berry good. Long rows of tall blackberry bushes chalked full of fresh berries to pick. Great family activity, especially during COVID as it's not crowded and outside. Only suggestion is to mow a path down the rows for easier walking. read more

Very sad living conditions for their farm animals. No shade, no shelter of any kind. Very small dirty pens and animals being eaten alive by flies. Terrible and we will never support this so we will not be returning. read more

This place is a bit different than most I pick spots. They have you pay up front for each person. For Raspberries, it's $6/head which comes 1.5# of berries, over that is I think $3#. The raspberries are food, the blueberries are Rocky Mountain, which are super smoky in flavor not for us. Worth it for the Raspberries, if your looking for Blues, go to July Blueberries! Owners are a little cold and take away from the experience. read more

The ads for Berry Ranch delightfully phrase their season as "open Strawberries through Pumpkins". This means, I think, roughly end May through October. But crop cycles and weather seasons can be unpredictable so call ahead to be certain. Sadly the pumpkins and gourds we wanted to buy were not for sale to walk ins but being sent out to retailers. Still we enjoyed looking about the retail area in the old dairy barn and seeing the poultry being raised in back, including heritage breed turkeys. There is lamb and beef available in a freezer inside the barn and also eggs. We were told everything sold at the Berry Ranch is grown and raised by the farmers. Thank goodness for small family farms like this. Per the owner, "It has been an adventure, tortuous, always invigorating, frequently exhausting path which is still playing out. The crop mix is ever changing and we try to find, fit and fill niches large and small." We first came to Berry Ranch as visitors to the area a year ago. Now that we're residents we'll give the "u pick" berries a try here come next berry season! In what may be a "timing is everything" note given the timing for posting this review, I understand they are open for Pumpkin Field trips by groups beginning mid September so call for information if that strikes your fancy. We went to pick pumpkins. There were signs to follow to the upick area which ended up a "hayride" out to the pumpkins which some of the ride was on a street with traffic. We could have just driven but it was not offered.When we arrived the driver said it was $4 each for just the ride. No signs or notice before taking the ride. We walked back, we did incur a bit of yelling for that. We didn't bother to buy any pumpkins. read more

My husband and I go to The Berry Ranch every year to get raspberries, blackberries and sweet corn. They are the sweetest people. Their fruit and vegetables are the best in my opinion. I have only been here for strawberry season this year so far. But BEWARE before you sign the NON-refundable $6 deposit form, make sure you go and look whether there actually any ripe berries left out on the plants to pick! The patch had nothing but red-orange sour berries by 12:00 today. And they will not refund your $6 deposit without a hassle. They did give me my deposit check back with some back and forth, but as I was leaving they were still allowing party after party in to pick, taking their $6 from each, knowing that their patch was empty of fruit. These kind of uncaring greedy business ethics are truly shameful folks. read more

My strawberries are very sweet. I was a little disappointed by the ranches run down appearance. Didn't mine putting down my $6.00 deposit for the first 2.5 pounds ended up picking 9.5#. The weather the night before was rainy making much of the field very muddy. Was kind of surprised at the small size of the berry field. The family running the shop was very nice & explained the rules of the facility as it was my 1st time. Seems like there was a lot of blooms & unripe berries ensuring picking will continue for a while. read more

It's so over priced. For those prices I would expect better kept grounds, larger area to pick from and so much more. The strawberry's were so small and full of weeds; I got pricked each time I reached down to grab a strawberry. The walk is pretty far along a main road. And the get across the cattle guard they have a tiny board or a small piece of plywood that doesn't even reach across the whole thing. The fact that anyone who goes into the field has to pay is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. We have been to other patches in other states and you just pay for what you pick. My husband held our baby and didn't eat a strawberry or pick anything and it cost him $6. They say it's for safety reason but even in explaining that it still made zero sense. The raspberry "field" was an ankle breaker to walk to and walk in. So many dead raspberries it looked like it had not been watered in ages. The raspberries were so small and so hard to pick from. I got maybe 2 handfuls in like 30 min. Our friends went with their kids and had a "sand bucket" 1/2 way full and it cost them $24! What a rip off. We will not be back and will not recommend to anyone. Getting a hold of them is pretty impossible and it's hard to plan a group trip when each week the ripeness is fruit changes so crazily. read more

Just visited this place for the first time today and it was wonderful! Beautiful grounds and very friendly staff. The produce looks delicious, we bought quite a bit as well as local honey and were pleasantly surprised how affordable it was. We picked raspberries, looked at the animals and played in the little children's play area. Will definitely be back! read more

Wonderful family place. We were there this last Saturday to pick strawberries. I recommend getting there first thing in the morning because by the time we got there at 10:30, we defiantly had to hunt for good berry's to pick. The crowds that were leaving when we arrived had buckets upon buckets of beautiful berry's. The owners two little boys were busy helping mom take care of the customers and they were so professional and adorable. Our family will be back for more berry picking. read more
