The house has beautiful wooden beams throughout which gives the place a very'homey' feeling. We ordered the cheese platter and chocolate dipped strawberries upon arrival and were very impressed by both. The cheese platter was filled to the brim with assorted cheeses and sliced meats with a sweet mustard. It came with a bottle of semi sweet wine. The strawberries were enormous and very tasty. We had breakfast delivered versus the grab and go and it was amazing. All in all it was a great experience and I highly recommend staying here.

Never offered a different room with an additional charge. Clerk came to the room to see if he could get the fire places working. He called the maintenance man and then I was told the fireplace was for looks only and would be a fire hazard. Only the fake logs lit up when turned on, The breakfast appeared unappetizing, so we went elsewhere for breakfast. Room was clean, jacuzzi worked great. That is about it.

Our main complaint was the people in the room above us had kids that ran up & down and it sounded like a herd of elephants starting at 8:00 a.m.

Even though the cabins are next to each other, we felt like we were the only ones on the property. The jacuzzi tub in the room was a really nice amenity. We enjoyed the fireplace (super easy to turn on and off with a light-switch) and couldn't believe how much heat it put out. The kitchen was stocked with basic cooking essentials and dishes for two. The only downside was the miscommunication with our checkout. We payed for a late checkout, but apparently the office didn't communicate that to housekeeping. The office left me a voicemail saying they didn't have record of the late checkout, I returned the call and confirmed that we did pay extra for that, and then shortly after housekeeping showed up and we had to also tell them that we had a late checkout. Kind of took us out of our getaway bubble, but overall a really nice vacation experience.

While the host was friendly and eager to share, my spouse and I were daunted by the extensive conversation before we were ever given the key. We had sent in notes about our food allergies, but the host seemed oblivious to the information we took time to fill out with the online registration. - The room was simple and pleasant. Details were missing. There were no robes as repeatedly described. The "luxury" soap was a very small slice of most likely a larger bar. The remaining complementary bathroom products had absolutely no ingredients listed for someone to be forewarned of possible allergens. No clean towels delivered for the second day; we had to use the dirty towels from our previous day's use. The king-sized bed was leaning in towards the middle and tilted towards the headboard. We had to pull the covers to turn to sleeping with our heads at the foot of the bed. The box springs was badly stained with something brown. Not a pillow-top comfort sleep. To access the room, one must step up and over a large door transit. Definitely NOT for those with mobility challenges. - The parking area is loose gravel. Also a no for those with mobility challenges. - The water was highly sulfuric in smell. Before we were finished with our stay, my spouse was very ill from the water. Both days, the shower ejected black silt, or some such. The second day, our final day, my shower actually ran totally black. We had to use the remaining distilled water for my spouse's medical device to finish washing my hair. We checked out early because of this disgusting turn of events. - The breakfast was not "gourmet" in any way. Both mornings we ended up eating breakfast out. Cool Whip topping is not "gourmet" in any culinary description known, yet that was what was given - with frozen berries - as one of the courses. The meat was only 1.5 strips of turkey bacon - turkey bacon! - My spouse had to assist the host with television technical issues in another guest's room, taking about an hour, altogether, away from our time on our anniversary. - For a first bed and breakfast stay, this set the bar very low for future experiences. We were very disappointed. - One positive note: the location is quite gorgeous even if the facility itself is ordinary.

He was very pleasant to speak with and demonstrated a genuine care for customer experiences. He apologized for not being on site to address the situation personally and assured me that my concerns have been professionally addressed. I appreciate his response and hope this ensures a better experience for future customers. 08/28/26 We come here every year and normally stay at the Berlin Encore or IHG in Millersburg. But this year, we wanted to change things up and stay in town for convenience and to be within walking distance. I had reserved 3 rooms (Assigned 324-326-328), all with double queen beds, at this property. After traveling two weeks prior and encountering a recent scare with the not-so-wanted hitchhikers from another "CHOICE HOTEL " property, I came packing bed bug spray and a blue light... Upon inspection of the two connected rooms (326-328), I found bed bugs between the mattress and the headboard frame, as well as skeletons of those that were once in both rooms. Dead or not, it is evident they once occupied these rooms, and the rooms were not treated properly. Pictures were taken, and the front desk and staff members visiting the rooms were notified immediately. We immediately removed all our belongings (sick to our stomachs) to only encounter roughly 1.5 hrs from the front desk not knowing how to handle this situation without speaking to the guest service manager, who had left the property. They did offer to move us to other rooms, but during a family meeting, trying to regroup after all of us had traveled 3+ hours, the family consensus was not to take the chance and stay at this property. So we determined it was in our best interest to leave the premises, which we did. The manager did offer to find us other accommodations at neighboring Choice Hotels, which we declined. We ended up at the IHG property in Millersburg, which was a night-and-day difference in the bed inspection. NO bed bugs or remnants found.... While I know that, since we travel extensively and in prior hospitality, bed bugs are common in ALL hotel chains, even 5-star top $$ resorts, it can happen... but trust me, they won't be catching a ride home with me!! We are well-seasoned travelers and have been all over the world, and for this to be our 1st actual, evident encounter in 30+ years, I must say, it is pretty traumatizing. WE WILL NOT UTILIZE ANY CHOICE HOTELS MOVING FORWARD... Unfortunately, this is a warning to all booking at this property. You either take the chance and inspect EVERYTHING... and don't rely solely on this hotel's rating, which is what I did when booking. Reviews were great.....but I'm sure those who posted did not do their due diligence, and I pray they did not go home with unwanted guests. We were fortunate to find another hotel with availability for our group size... as we come to this area yearly, when all hotels are typically sold out. I strongly recommend not staying at this hotel for a few months from this posting to ensure that management takes the proper precautions to prevent those unwanted hitchhikers from going home with you. Hotel Management has the same photos that I am sharing. While this hotel may seem perfect for its location and top reviews, there is no convenience or a price tag on unwanted hitchhikers.... THINK TWICE B4 STAYING HERE!

We had a great two-night stay here in Berlin, OH. This hotel has added on since we had last…read morevisited. We love how close it is to the heart of Amish country. The bed and room were comfortable. The shower has only half a door, but surprisingly the water didn't get all over the place. We ended up liking the easy walk in feature. We appreciated that breakfast was served with some precautions. Individually wrapped breakfast sandwiches and muffins were available. A few buffet items were offered, like biscuits and sausage gravy, baked oatmeal, and bagels, but you could eat an entire meal of packaged foods if you wanted. We were really looking forward to using the hot tub after walking around all day, but alas just that morning they had discovered it needed a repair, so we were unable to use it during our stay. The pool wasn't warm enough to soak my feet. My only real complaint is that the TVs are not smart TVs. I'm so used to every place we stay having the ability to sign in to our Netflix account and continue watching our shows.
