I went to the beaches in the thought that I was going to get some good well cooked pub grub as I had been there before and it never dissapointed. To my shock , the menu had been changed by table table to a simpler more 'American' basic style menu. I was very dissapointed as they had taken any variety apart from steak, burgers , fish and chips and pies off the menu. We had previously been there and the menu had chicken fajitas on there, different types of pasta etc.they have also put a summer icecream menu for the winter. I was dissapointed, but I did did a lamb steak with red currant sauce which was new so I chose that. The waitress came to us while we were trying to sit down to tell us about the soup , which was a bit unprofessional , but I dismissed it as they were busy.when my lamb came out (extremely late and after asking where it was) the lamb tastes like beef it had been chargrilled with the steaks so much! The mash was a dried slap of slip , and the seasonal veg was soggy and had no flavor an I questioned it if it was fresh. I was not happy.
I am dissapointed in how the beaches has become. It used to be first of choice for a family meal which wasn't too expensive and food that was cooked well.
They need to change the menu back to how it was with more variety, and have a retrain of staff on service . read more
