It's taken me a while to write this review because I had a very upsetting experience with Michael…read moreMendelson that truly affected my trust in hairstylists. I initially found this salon through Yelp and decided to book with Michael based on some positive reviews. I had hair extensions, color, and highlights done--and in the beginning, he did a great job. I continued to see him over the course of two years, consistently paying high service fees and tipping generously (always 20%). However, things changed during my last visit. I went in for just a touch-up--a simple request for more pronounced "money piece" highlights in the front. I called the salon to express I wasn't satisfied and was told I could come back in for a correction. When I returned, rather than doing just the money pieces, Michael added highlights throughout the top of my head. I'm not a professional, but I can confidently say this overprocessing or whatever he did to my hair severely damaged my hair. I had spent almost two years growing my hair out healthy, with limited processing on the top of my head and it was ruined in one day. He did not fix my hair he ruined it. My hair turned to straw, suffered major breakage and what's worse--I didn't even realize what had happened until it was too late. Despite being there for a correction, I still tipped him $40 because I felt bad. But that was the last time I ever saw him, and I have no plans of ever returning to the salon. The aftermath of that appointment left me so discouraged I didn't go to another hairstylist for several months--until I finally found someone in Pasadena who I now trust with my hair. In addition to the hair damage, I also want to mention some behavior I found unprofessional. Michael would talk about his very young girlfriend, make overly personal comments, and even invited me out for drinks one night there was an event in the building. It made me very uncomfortable, and in hindsight, had he not done a good job with my hair in the beginning, I likely would have stopped going to him sooner. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and has a lovely atmosphere--I really enjoyed sipping wine while getting my hair done. But sadly, my experience with Michael was extremely disappointing. If you do decide to book with him, I strongly recommend being very clear about what you want, watching closely during the process, and speaking up immediately if something feels off. I'm sharing my story so others don't have to go through the same experience. Trust your instincts--your hair (and your peace of mind) are worth protecting. Just be cautious when using Michael and don't ever complain about his service. He is very revengeful.

Let me tell you a story! December 2024 -- I had my maternity shoot scheduled in Anaheim Hills and…read morewas scrambling to book hair and makeup nearby. I booked Drybar for my blowout n' styling (big mistake ) and BlowOut Parlor for makeup. I got my hair done that morning and specifically mentioned that my hair does NOT hold curls well. I was hoping they'd at least last long enough to give beach wave vibes for my evening photoshoot... nope. Not even two hours later, all the curls had completely fallen out and my hair was straight. Thank God for BlowOut Parlor. I had my makeup appointment about an hour before the shoot, and while I was there I vented about my hair disaster. Even though the salon was PACKED -- every chair occupied and every stylist busy -- they were so understanding and somehow found the time to fix my hair. Completely saved the day and my maternity photos. This week, I went back in for a little self-care and once again they did not disappoint. My hairdresser Denee has been my stylist over 10 years! I have not tried anyone else since I found her. She always styles my hair exactly as expected. Denee is always up to date on current trends. For the majority of my hair styling life I've had long layered mid back length hair. I have tried highlights, low lights, ombré, bayalage, you name it! Denee has done it all. I always get compliments on my hair and get asked for her info which I reluctantly give. Lol. Pros: awesome hairstylist with a great personality, beautiful and professional hairstyles, great location, salon atmosphere, prices, very accommodating, never cancels appointments and reliable. Cons: parking can be limited as the location is in a business center but there is plenty of street parking. Helpful advice: Ladies it's important to know how to style your own hair. Whether it be blow drying, curling or straightening, you have to know how to do it yourself. Denee will style your hair beautifully before walking out but you need to know how to style it afterwards. I have sent plenty of people there that have had an expectation just to wake up with the same hair styles for the days or months following. Truthfully, no one does. I take time to blow dry and style my hair to look as she left it the day of my visit. I highly recommend Denee. Appointments are required. She's typically booked two to three weeks in advance.
