We arrived at 8:50am for a 9am appointment. I walked my fiancee to the door to make sure Tiana's house was safe and to my surprise she had a 4 month old and 6 year old at her entrance. Which we were not informed about prior. I assumed that Tiana had a husband or babysitter available while she did my fiancee's hair and makeup trial. I felt it was safe and then I went to grab coffee and was told it only only take 1:30 for her make up and hair. Fast forward to 10:50AM 2 hours later and I pick up my fiancee who's hair hasn't been done and whose make up looks very messy to say the least. In any case, she did not complete the trial in the 2 hours that she promised. I bring $100 in cash as Tiana said she preferred cash as she didn't have her square set up. I give her the cash and ask for change and she says she has no change and to pay later online. I personally don't like owing people so I gave her the full $100 to keep. Next as we're in the car rushing to our cake tasting as Tiana went over by 30 minutes and only did make up, my fiancee and I take a closer look at her make up and find that it's completely uneven (eye liner), the eye lash extensions haven't been cut properly and the foundation is extremely blotchy and blown out. My fiancee said that she showed Tiana photos of the contoured look that she wanted but Tiana didn't have a babysitter and was extremely distracted. End result being we feel we wasted $100 on a trial run that was done by an amateur. As a professional would have not let anyone pay and leave with the job she had done. Additionally, a professional would hire a babysitter to watch her kids while she's working with a paying client. Finally, as a word of caution we both agree that a professional wouldn't spend 2 hours on a quoted 45 minutes botched make up job. Anyways all of that being said my fiancee told Tiana via email we decided not to go with her and she admitted to it not being her best and offered another trial this time free of charge. While I commend this and appreciate it (the reason for 2 stars instead of 1), a professional never should have let us pay if they won't proud of their work. End result. Try Tiana at your own risk, I think she'd be fine for prom or sweet 16 make up but definitely not wedding make up.

Usually I need a fill at the 2, sometimes 3, weeks mark as they start to appear "patchy". I went to Tiana for the first time a few months ago and OMG what a game changer!!! I will never go to anybody else! At 3 weeks, it didn't even look like any of my extensions had fallen out! I was so surprised. They even looked good at 4 weeks! I save so much money for quality work since I've been going to Tiana. Right now she doesn't have her own studio so her 2 adorable kids are home sometimes. But I don't mind at all for the quality of work she does, I can't get it anywhere else for less than $100! Her price is right, her home is clean, and her kids are well behaved. I will continue to drive all the way from the OC to see my Lash girl every month.

But was determined to have my own experience and I am SO GLAD I did. I went with the basic head spa package, mainly because I have so many things I am allergic to. They were open with all my questions about the products. If you read on their website it says they leave the product in your hair and you will leave with it wet. This should not be a surprise. I love everything about this session. All the different techniques and products it was so relaxing. No rush and the tea at the end was a nice touch. I highly recommend booking a mani/pedi and massage on the same weekend and becoming a different person.

So much so that when I got home, I bought a package for five more facials to last me throughout the year. I selected the Hydrafacial with derma plane, which is perfect for my skin. It eliminates the dead top layer of skin and fills my pores with healthy ingredients. All through the process Darlene explained what she was doing and mentioned that if by chance I didn't like something, we could alter it at that moment or do something different at a future visit. I really appreciated her flexibility in my service. I tend to have skin that is both oily and dry so I'm definitely a challenge for an aesthetician. The one thing that I appreciate more than all is that there was never an attempt for her to try to sell me additional products. My past experiences at other places is that I go through a relaxing procedure only to be pressured into a sales pitch. Darlene did absolutely nothing like that. As a matter fact, she told me at the beginning of my treatment that she would gladly share the names of the products she used and if it was something I wanted to purchase I could probably get some great deals online. As I said, I was so impressed with this whole process that I booked a package to last me throughout the year. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

The scheduling process was a bit confusing because there is no general answering machine inbox, or a way to schedule with a real person, they have an answering machine that requires you to just pick someone and leave them a message (which I did). I picked Erin because I saw someone else liked her. Ha! Good enough for me. Luckily, she wrote me a text back after not being able to reach me back via phone and we were able to confirm the appointment. I prefer texting over phone tag :P Bonus. The venue itself is quaint but suffices. This is not your frill spa, but rather a working skin care salon. The facial itself gets 5/5 (and the afterglow!). By far the best facial I've received, much attention to shoulders, neck, face as well as an easy extraction process. My skin still feels vibrant and it's been three days. Erin took time to get to know me and said she'd email me over some information. I'm still waiting on that but either way I definitely recommend her and Skin Logica Spa. I'd pick a good facial in a mediocre salon over a stupid one in a fancy spa any day! So, summary: Venue: 3.5 Scheduling: 3.5 Facial: 10 Final rating: 5

She listened to my skin needs and after discussing, we opted for a facial infusion ($135 for an hour session). It also included a scalp, neck, arm, and hand massage while the serums worked their magic. Soothing music and dim lights added to the calming environment. Only a couple of times did I hear noises from the neighboring business but it didn't really deter from the overall experience. My skin is temperamental and I had zero outbreaks or inflammation afterwards. I wouldn't say my skin looked "wow" but it did hold a slight glow and was soft for a couple of days afterwards. Just a tip (and it's okay, you can laugh) but be sure though to check your face in regular light...I got to the car and my face was tinted slightly orange (from the serum - it completely came off in the shower later that evening). Not a problem at all but just FYI in case you need to go somewhere afterwards. All in all, I had a lovely experience and I would recommend! I would also note for individuals to take a look at their services and price menu beforehand. During my consultation, we did not discuss pricing (in fairness, I did not ask because I was already aware) so for someone who may need a certain price point, be sure to ask so there are no surprises at checkout.

Conveniently no one can provide me a copy of the waiver I signed that proves I am supposed to be charged the full service. I'm just supposed to take someone's word for it. Funny thing is verbally I was told the cancellation fee is $50. Magically today is the cost of the full service. I am now committed to making sure That the owner of the Lash lounge in Murfreesboro, Tennessee knows how much I despise her business practices.
