Only reason not a 1 star is because the gym itself has a decent atmosphere but the contract they put you on for their membership is ridiculous. You have to lock in a 2 year contract w them and pay yearly fees up to $60 on top of the $15 a month. After your contract is up, it doesn't automatically void your membership like it should and they continue billing your bank each month without notifying you or anything. They won't let you cancel it over the phone either so you have to drive there and do it in person. I live in Nashville and hardly ever have time to drive all the way to murfreesboro to workout for an hour when it takes me about an hour there and back. Would absolutely recommend to someone who lives close and will go consistently every week to get their money's worth but definitely not otherwise, huge waste of $$$$. read more

By far the best gym I've ever been to. If you want to do cardio, they got it. Lift weights? They got it. Casual gym member? Not a problem. Gym rat? The dungeon is for you. Woman who wants to work out exclusively in a female only area? You got it!!! Been going here for eight months now. Losing weight and getting stronger every single day. They got trainers if you need/want one. Cardio cinema is in point. I'm not blowing smoke or getting paid for this. I legit love this gym. Updating my review after finally withdrawing from the kool-aid: This place is not what it markets. They lock you into a contact so you have to pay the $15 plus once a year cleaning fees which are like $30 for a certain amount of time. In my case, 2 years! It doesn't matter if you go or not. And no you can't cancel over the phone. You have to prove you moved or personally come in and pay off your contact to cancel your membership. Also if you want to quit with the trainer, nope! You're in a contact. You can't afford it anymore because something happened, nope still have to pay up. And as Dustin puts "I don't need your money, I do just fine without you" (literally what he stated in his pitch to have you be a client) yet won't let you out of a contact. And no you just wanting to look normal and tone up, not a thing. Everyone has to be a bodybuilder. Yes there are bodybuilders here at this gym, it great for them. I'm normal and just want to be healthy. Does that make a difference? No. Still don't look like a bodybuilder so I'm "not making progress". And the meal plan? Not healthy, literally put trash in your body that has zero calories. Apparently that works might as well just eat air. My kid got sick constantly from the daycare. And they wanted to get up and arms about 'oh we clean everything!' Not saying you don't, I'm letting you know my child gets sick every week going to this childcare area. Let's figure out what is going on-'oh no we bleach everything, it's not us'. (I literally don't have a life so no this is the only place we go. Grocery pickup only) And when I stop going, my kid isn't sick. Wow isn't that interesting? The place is clean. They do keep it that way. But they will even check the cameras if someone made a mess so they can find out who and give them a talking to. They do have a great variety of machines and equipment. Olympus is truly a fantastic place. First, it's the first of its kind in middle TN. The facility itself is HUGE and is hands down the most equipped in the area. There is never a wait on any of the machines and never a doubt that your going to get in a good workout when you go in. The atmosphere is INCREDIBLE! You are greeted the second you walk in by the staff, who genuinely are happy to see you. The first thing you will notice is how it has that "old school" gym feel but is extremely clean. The facility is very open and spacious while also having everything you could ever need work out wise. There is a women's only circuit area that has a small set of dumbbells, and a good amount of machines where you can train with a little privacy. There is also a cardio cinema that is off to itsself. Both men and women's locker rooms have saunas.. and again ITS CLEAN! When you venture to the back of the gym you will find yourself in the Dungeon which you just need to experience for yourself. There is so so much more to do in this gym but it truly is impossible to describe all of it in one summary. Not only is this facility just all around amazing, it's $15 a month. You LITERALLY can not beat Olymlus's prices. They offer FREE childcare FREE tanning & FREE group classes with the membership! The staff is dedicated and will do their absolute best to help with anything you need. The comments from the past do not reflect this gym today, in the years I've been with Olympus I've never seen someone have an issue that wasn't resolved. Overall this is hands down the best gym in Murfreesboro TN. The price is amazing, the staff is amazing, the cleanliness is impressive for such a big gym, and the atmosphere is something you want to be apart of. I belong to all the major gyms in Murfreesboro and I have to say this one is by far my favorite. Every time I find myself working out with a friend at a different gym it takes me no time to convince them to join Olympus. The equipment is amazing. At other gyms I find many times are equipment is out of service for days or longer. I have never seen a piece of equipment at Olympus out of service for more than one day. I have met the owner and his fiancé and they are very welcoming and do not seem to be put off if you ask questions about any of their services or even general advice about what a piece of equipment does. A friend introduced me to this gym and I am not disappointed. Lot of equipment and gym is bigger than I imagined. Wish there was a bit more space for body weight or HIIT! They offer group training classes and personal training which is something that peaks my interest. I would never recommend this gym to anyone. They take advantage of high school kids. My son who is a high school student was led to believe he could sign up for Olympus and he could cancel for free within the first 3 months- by Ben. When my son went to cancel they said he had signed a two -year contract. My son doesn't have a job there is no way he would have signed this if they had been upfront and honest. He had just turned 18 when he went in. I called and spoke with Ben and Sean. Sean said he would not cancel the membership. I voiced that I would complain to the Better Business Bureau. He said that I, one person, would not matter, that I wouldn't change a thing against a big company like Olympus. This makes me sad that a business would take advantage of a kid and treat anyone this way. Beware don't allow your children to go there, they cannot be trusted. Also, my son was told he could visit for free for his first and only visit. When he got there they said it wasn't free and charged him $15 for a one-time visit, when their website says they offer a free pass. ITS $15 PER MONTH! There is nothing cheaper than that... for anything! This gym has group exercise classes (yoga, zumba, pilates, circuit abs, and kickboxing). They also have free child care, unlimited tanning, and free personal training. They have a parking lot so no worries about parking. They have a good range in fitness equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, free weights and a bunch of stuff that I don't know how to use! Lastly, they are open 24 hours during week night and they have great hours during the weekends! They also have a sauna and massage therapy! How are they in business?! Its so cheap and they offer everything! I think it would be fair for them to raise the rate to at least $30/ month (you can't do better than this). I used to love coming here 2 years ago when I moved away, but when I moved back, I've realized a few things have changed, new equipment, a barber shop, and dressing rooms in the women's locker room. I used to love going here and I like how you are freely to work out with loud screaming when lifting weights and not having to tone down your voice because everyone is basically in their own world. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because since I started going back, I've had always had problems with the guy working the station during the graveyard shifts. Obviously he and his lingering group of friends at the juice bar likes to judge you when you come through the door. It has been a constant thing with him when there are people at the juice bar, but when he's alone he seems OK since he doesn't have an audience as his back drop. Every time I walk in I feel like I'm always being silently judged. I don't care if it's from the other patrons, but if it's by a staff member who feels the need to feel like he's the dominant alpha in the clique is too cliche. This place is horrible if trying to cancel a membership! I was signed up on the church street location several years ago. Went for about 3 years. Tried to cancel multiple times. Was told I had to go to the broad street lido to cancel between the hours of 9-5 (the same hours i work). I did that 3 different times and everytime was told the one person I needed to talk to wasn't there. So I stopped the payment through my bank after missing that much work. They turned it in on my credit!! Four years later it's still there AND I'm still paying my daughter's membership. Whatever you do - do not get suckered into "True Discipline" personal training at Olympus! Charles Rucker the owner is the most unscrupulous, deceitful and horrible person to work with. They pressured me into a contract that was longer than I wanted telling me that was the only way i would see results. The $300 a month I paid them is NOT what they pay their trainers. the trainers see nothing if the client doesn't show - but Charles gets paid. I recently lost my job and asked for a contract termination. The GM- James Perrigo told me they were "not in the business of taking people's money" but rather investing in their health. Well that is a pile of manure! I had 2 trainers over the course of the time I was there and the 1st not only did a horrible job and put absolutely zero thought into my workout- he was RUDE and INSULTING! The only saving grace this company had was my second trainer who was amazing. I was supposed to be given a diet plan that specific for my needs and was given a printout that I could have googled, not tailored to my body type of diet needs at all and NEVER changed. According to them I was supposed to repeat the same week for the entire 6 months....WHAT?!?!? This is not what I signed up for and definitely not what I paid for! I normally don't do this or comment about any type of experience I've had, good or bad, but the experience I've had with this establishment can't go without saying anything. As a customer with this gym for over 2 years now, I am beyond upset with this establishment. My 2 year contract ended in February of this year and I had called then to verify. Then in March and April I noticed more payments taken out which surprised me, so I called the location on NW Broad Street. They never mentioned being switched to month to month but I never argued I just asked how I could cancel this membership because I live 2 hours away now and no Olympus Athletic club is even near my location. They told me I could simply come in and cancel, so I drove 2 hours out of my way on May 1st to cancel my membership just to be told, I cannot cancel in person, it had to be by certified mail. Again, I did not argue I just said that's okay and wrote the letter. It should have been received over a week ago, so I called today to verify that. The lady that I spoke to told me that they do not cancel memberships via mail and I would have to come in. I was a little frustrated due to what I've already been through and explained to her thinking maybe she was mistaken. That wasn't the case. I was told basically that my certified letter that I paid to be sent was for no reason and I would have to drive 2 hours out of my way again just to cancel a simple gym membership that should have been canceled months ago. The employees were very sweet and understanding so I'm not blaming them by any means, but their management needs to be more clear on what the policy is. It's VERY inconvenient to take time out of my week when I work a full time job just to drive 2 hours to cancel a membership and then be told something different and on top of that, I have yet been able to even come in contact with an active manager. They closed the location I joined, and would not allow me to cancel my membership because there were other locations, though none of those were convenient to me, and I had joined them based solely on the location. I was told I had to wait until my term ended in October, and they were completely rude and condescending in the process. I waited it out until this month, when I had been told I could cancel, and called to cancel today so I could finally join a new gym. Now I'm being told my term doesn't end until December, and once again, there has been no effort put into decent customer service. "UPDATE" I paid the $186.00 extorted collection. The owner passed on the opportunity to make this right. The manager saw that I paid cash and said he would speak to the owner about the bogus charges. He got back with me and said that there isn't anything he can do. lesson learned is get paid in full receipt, employee id#, hand write on the contract that there will be no additional charges made when the contract expires and have manager sign beside it and lastly file/hold your on to your paper work for at least 5 years. This started out being one $30.00 charge. Month after month I was told it would be taken care of and it wasn't. Now $186.00 was successfully extorted from me. I hope this helps the public. DON'T GET HUSTLED!!!! FORMER MEMBERS PLEASE HELP WARN THE PUBLIC!! I want to start by saying that I did my part to resolve this issue. I paid for my membership in full because I don't like payments. When my membership was complete, Olympus continued to bill me. I was proactive in resolving this and called them. They did apologize and said it has been taken care of. They charged me for a second month and they said again that it was taken care of. They charged me for a third month and the manager would not return my call. The fourth month I received a letter from a collection agency with their charges. I called Olympus and the manager refused to take my call. So Olympus and the collection agency they use have successfully EXTORTED an additional $178.00 from me. read more

There are definitely some big guys in there, but they are all nice and willing to help if you need it. The staff is always chatting up customers and being friendly. I was a member of this gym for several years, and was very pleased. Very large, with a wide variety of equipment, and knowledgable staff. The second location on S Church (which is now closed) was smaller and more crowded, but it was usually no problem with rarely a wait to use equipment. Both locations had child care and were very clean. NW Broad location had a movie theater and offered various fitness classes. They maintained membership in the IPFA, so I could use other membership gyms in other cities when I (frequently) traveled. I have been speaking in the past tense, because I started going to a different gym a little over 3 years ago. The only reason I left Olympus was they were closed overnight on the weekends (why be open 24 hours a day through the week, but closed overnight on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays?). This is not a reason to leave for 99% of the population, but my schedule at the time only allowed me to go to the gym overnight on the weekend. read more

Terrible business practice. As stated in several of the other reviews, and as experienced with my girlfriend years ago before they switched from in-house billing to ASF, they do not cancel your account when requested. I went in MAY to cancel my account, and just yesterday got a bill from collections that I owe $75. Apparently, while I THOUGHT and was TOLD that I was canceling, they merely "froze" my account for 1 month. And then continued on billing me since then. I called them, they told me to call the billing company (ASF) who told me to call Olympus. After being bounced back and forth, absolutely nothing was done or offered to be done. read more
