We like to try out new restaurants and cafes and got a Scoopon for breakfast at Brewmasters. After…read moreriding 20 kms to get there on Saturday morning we grabbed a table. We were looking forward to a good breakfast and ordered the Big Breakfast with avocado added and a couple of coffees. When our breakfast arrived it looked good, but as soon as we touched the eggs they were hard and rubbery and our hearts sank. There's not much worse than overcooked poached eggs. Cutting into the eggs, all 4 were hard boiled with an overwhelming smell and taste of vinegar. If the eggs were just hard we would have still eaten them, but all we could taste was vinegar and the whites were rubbery and inedible. The waitress offered to replace them with fried eggs after talking to the cook. She advised that the cook could only make poached eggs with vinegared water and they couldn't guarantee that the same thing wouldn't happen again. We look forward to soft poached eggs with breakfast every Saturday, so we took the chance that if they were cooked properly they wouldn't taste like vinegar...unfortunately that was a very bad mistake. The eggs were replaced with terribly under-cooked poached eggs with raw whites oozing all over the plate. The thin layer of cooked whites on the outside still tasted only like vinegar so we just ate the yolks. The rest of the breakfast was nice, but we left feeling like the cook had no idea how to poach eggs, or had deliberately under cooked the eggs to the point that they were also inedible. Either way, we wouldn't go back.

The joint is unassuming and casual but the service and the food is beyond delightful. Cheery, helpful and kid-friendly. I was thrilled to see a few toddlers already dining there on a Saturday night. Even more thrilled that they were not at all fussed when we asked for a table change away from the cold draft of our original table. The choice of beers (Green Beacon) excited my husband who'd already spied his top two faves in the fridge. We ordered the bacon and blue for him, cheeseburger for me and buffalo wings to share and our companions also ordered the lamb and tatziki burger. We were all extremely happy with our choices. The cheeseburger is always my go to, when trying a new burger joint and this didn't disappoint me. I observed the melted cheese when my waitress brought the dish and I was salivating. The patty was perfectly cooked, the brioche was light and tasty. My taste buds were doing the samba! Joy of joys! The buffalo wings were flavoursome and absolutely divine! I could honestly devour them in one sitting sans the burger. I didn't notice any hot sauce but you didn't need them. It was just the right amount of heat (not overpowering at all). Brew Master's, I'll definitely be back!

Formally an access alley to the bike shop next door, Cardigan Bar's atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. Cardigan had amazing beers on tap, fantastic ciders and really good wine. The service couldn't be more friendly and relaxed and the live music is great. It's not trying to do everything, which is what I love about it. Food options are limited to cheese and olives which is really all you need for a relaxed afternoon or evening. But if you do get a little more hungry, the Thai place next door is happy to deliver take away to your table, or you can bring in pizza from down the road. The location is central and easy to get to. Seating is inside, around the bar or out on the footpath. I absolutely love this place.

With a range of craft beers to challenge even the most adventurous Bavarian and a variety of music and artists on any day ending with Y, it is good times on a stick and in a glass. If stale clinical commercial bars and bistros are what your used to then feel free to stay there, because the Cardigan bar is what a bar should be, not designed for seating capacity and bar stools are very crude and impersonal and you have to crowd and push your way to the bar and I for one love it. You wont find your typical dynamic in this place Kitty Kat, although you will find lots of colour and characters to suit and that included the owners and their staff. And watch out for the ceramic eagle.

A joke of a punishment for the crime. On video you can see this sick man speed up in a Audi, intentionally, to hit a child on a bike on the side of the road out of traffic. He proceeds to scream at the child, while the child pleaded for his life. I hope karma does her magic. Even more concerning is how Mr. Wright seemed to justify his actions by blaming the child's bike as "illegal," rather than genuinely acknowledging the danger and illegality his own driving posed. I expect higher ethical standards and community responsibility from anyone at the helm of a hospitality business. While the restaurant itself may serve somewhat average food or drinks, I personally cannot support an establishment whose leadership shows such disregard for safety and empathy--especially when a young child's wellbeing is at stake. Until clear accountability and genuine remorse are demonstrated, I'll be dining elsewhere. If you care about patronizing businesses that reflect your values, I would encourage you to consider taking your money and support elsewhere, too. The experience at these venues sucked before these events occurred too, every other option nearby provide a way better experience. Terrible for family photos. Terrible lighting

There are heavy curtains hanging and behind one lot of curtains was the pool table. Tables and chairs a plenty so your sure to get a seat. They have a small nibble menu and the Italian meatballs were full of flavour and came out in this cute cast iron frypan with bread on the side. I ordered a Peroni beer and fell over backwards as it arrived in a 500ml glass. They also had a special going that is you order a pizza and two 300 ml Peroni beers you pay $25. This cafe wine beer bar had friendly staff and is an Italian bar. Definitely worth a visit if you want to meet up with friends over a quiet drink.
