My husband was there for a hockey tournament, and the waitress he had left, but closed out his tab, so he got no receipt because he was on the ice. I am going through our CC statement and was surprised by the amount. That is when he told me the waitress closed it without giving him a bill or receipt. No idea if she got tipped or over tipped. This is am odd review, as it wasn't a bad visit just an ok visit. It could of been much better and it could of been worse. What we liked- *our server was amazing, Kathy or Kathleen? My meal came .15 minutes before my husbands meal. My food was cold after waiting for my husband to receive his. Appetizer came after my meal. It seems like a great place to hang out with friends and snack but for dinner it didn't satisfy. The fire roasted tomato salsa was by far the best thing we ate, although it came with stale chips. It's a very cool atmosphere and they offer so many super fun entertainment options (ie volleyball, cornhole, Curling) but the food has continuously gone downhill over the years. French read pizza and tatertots with stuff on top make me think of elementary school lunches. They seem to have a really good burger selection but don't offer anything for vegetarians/vegans. The wing sauce options are awesome but they don't offer regular ranch, only a spicy ranch so I never want to get anything spicy. I always want to love this place but I can't. The worst Reuben I have ever had. Low grade, reconstituted slices of corned beef and dry bread without any butter when grilling.

We recently had a great experience at The Barn! Service was stellar, food was yummy, and curling was fun! I got the bacon brie burger which was really good (though it'd be even better with some sliced apples or something else sweet/tart on it). Frank was an awesome server and I love that you can pay online using your phone - big time saver and super convenient. Curling was more like shuffleboard on ice so don't expect regulation lanes or anything. Can't wait to come back! read more

Crazy little burger stand, got curling lanes out back and a skating rink off to the side if the weather cooperates. Easy to get to from highway 23 at exit 80: NB you keep turning right; SB just bear left until you can turn and you're there! Exercise caution in the parking lot because the geometry is odd and the lines are suggestions at best. Came in for a bite before hitting the airport. Nicely windowed tavern with a couple winky-dart boards inside and icy games out. Lots of TVs on the walls favoring rugby and soccer over basketball. Yea!! Barn burger and chips plus coffee were most delightful :-9 Juicy half-pound burger with a warm pink center topped with special sauce on a big poofy roll. Excellent spot in Fenton. We tried to go to a different restaurant but the wait was too long. My friend and I ordered the beef nachos to share and they were so yummy! They have sand volleyball and a huge outside covered patio, pool table and Leno inside, and a decent sized bar too. I'd love to come back! I had my bridal/bachelorette dinner here this past Saturday night. The atmosphere was pretty nice and I commented more than once how cool it would be to visit during the Summer with their outside dining/volleyball/etc. We ended up cutting the night short due to our waitress, bartender and "manager". I knew we were going to be playing games and if one of the girls declined, she was to buy the bride a drink. I do not drink and I wanted to make sure my girls were not spending a lot of money on NADA drinks. I specifically asked our waitress and she said she did not know but would find out. I told her that if my non-alcoholic drinks were the same price as regular to please bring the alcohol in shot form with it so I could give it to my girls to add to their drinks and if that was not allowed, I would just get pop. Our waitress never came back to clarify so I assumed I was being charged for a non-alcoholic drink. I had a total of 5 and when we got the bill.... My girls were charged $7.50 per drink!!!!!! a drink that consisted of mixer and ice NO ALCOHOL!!! When I brought this to our waitresses attention she became visibly shaken and stressed about the whole situation. She tried to pay me in her tip money to make it better which I REFUSED and told her to keep her money. She started to cry and said she was having an awful night and that she had just found our her boyfriend cheated on her. A bit TMI but being ME I gave her a hug and told her not to worry about it. At this point I seriously felt bad for the girl and I was not going to let this ruin my night with the girls. My niece felt so bad after I told her what happened that she went looking for her and gave her extra money on top of all the tips she received from us. Management never came out to talk to us or the bartender (bartender was the one that said she could not bring the alcohol out separate even though I was being charged for a drink with alcohol in it.) Fast forward to 15 minutes after, I had to use the restroom. As soon as I went into the stall and shut the door, our waitress and a few co-workers came in and started talking about everything. She was being VERY rude and said "Just because you are the bride does not mean you get to drink for free!" She also said she gave me her tip money without adding that I told her to put it back in her pouch. I wanted to come out of the stall and first advise the girls proper waitress etiquette *NEVER TALK DOWN ON YOUR CUSTOMERS IN A PUBLIC AREA!!!! and to confront her on lying about the situation! I didn't.... I let them talk and listened to the whole conversation. We left shortly after and while I haven't called to speak with a manager yet, I will.... Now..... To clarify to our waitress SkyAnne.... The bride. ME... was NOT trying to get free drinks from your establishment!!! I simply DO NOT drink alcohol and did not want to pay $7.50 for a shirley temple. If you would have done your job and told me that the bartender would not comply with bringing shots out I would have just ordered pop. You messed up EVERYONE's bill and we had to figure it out ourselves. I felt sorry for you and I made sure to tell EVERYONE to please not say anything else. That you were having a really awful night. You really shouldn't bash on your customers in a public bathroom though. It is unprofessional. I was nothing but kind to you because you truly seemed terrified of the bartender and manager. My request was SIMPLE. I did not want to pay $7.50 for a mixer and ice. I don't think ANYONE would. If you can not accomodate, JUST SAY SO!!!! The food was good. My salad was missing the avocado's it was supposed to come with but my friend gave me hers from her meal. The atmosphere was nice and we did truly have a wonderful time. A note to the management..... You should have separate prices for your non-alcoholic drinks. If you advertise nada drinks, you should not be charging the same as a drink with alcohol in it! Some of us are allergic to alcohol, or are recovering from alcoholism, or maybe just do not like the taste of it. A non-alcoholic drink should NEVER be the same amount as another patron with the same drink BUT has alcohol. Do better! read more

The food is decent but is a little over prices to me. The last few times we did take out and both times we had issues. One time we ordered over an hour before we would pick it up and they said no problem since it would be ready in 30-40 minutes. That sounded fine (even if it sat until we came I was fine. It was more of a time crunch I was worried about and told the lady on the phone this). Anyway I got there 55 minutes later and it took another 20 minutes to get the order. I am guessing they didn't put the order in or start it until I came. I really don't know because the lady who said she was getting out order just never came back out to talk to me. After I was standing there another 10 min ir so another person walked to the hostess stand and asked if I was being helped. I told her I was and that someone was just getting my to go order. She gave me a weird look and said ok. Then she walked away. She was the one who ended up giving my order to me and said nothing about the wait. I asked if the extra dressing was in the bag (something I ordered and asked for when I ordered it) she said she didn't know because the kitchen just made it and she didn't get to check the food. I usually don't leave reviews but this place had a very misleading menu in terms of what comes with your meal. I ordered the bacon brie burger and the menu says it comes with any side of your choosing. Well the waitress said they will up charge you for any other side besides the chips. Not to mention the chips are not very good. There wasn't even any bacon on my burger to top it off once they served it to me. Overall, they need to edit their menu to make it more clear and pay attention to small details if they're going to charge higher prices for a low tier burger missing a key ingredient. read more

We arrived around 11:30am after my triathlon race - my friend and I was pretty hungry since the last couple of location we tried were full or either closed til noon. So we were happy it wasn't crowded here. You had the option to search under the AC inside or outside but area was closed in so it wasn't necessarily hot like outside. A lot seating available - there was also a volleyball neat outside if you wanted to get a game started. Nope not us - just feed me!! The waitress was very pleasant and socialable; obviously working for her tip but she earned at the end of the meal. Special drinks I guess change daily or weekly but she informed us that they were new today; I enjoyed them but it had a ton of ice. I would suggest beer here - please note they didn't have a ton on tap but they were ok if u wanted to try something new. They'll also allow a taste before you fully commit to a drink. Lol! The past 2 times we have attempted to eat at The Barn, we have walked out. The first time was over the summer on a Sunday afternoon. There were a few folks at the bar - and ONE table occupied. The waiter asked us to "sit anywhere" - which we did -- next to the occupied table. After a few minutes, he stopped by the other table -- then said to us "I'll be back in a minute to get your drink order". Fifteen minutes later and no waiter - no drinks - no anything -- we got up and left. Last weekend we thought we would try again -- maybe the previous visit was just a bad day. This time there were a few tables occupied. Sign at the hostess stand says "wait to be seated" -- so we waited -- and waited -- and waited -- people came in behind us -- we all waited.... finally a waiter came up to us and asked how many? Two, I said. Reply: "oh, it will be about a 20 minute wait". I looked around at the restaurant -- only 4 tables occupied. Why a 20 minute wait??? If you're short staffed, just say so -- put us at a table with a beer and we would have understood. But to have us sit in the entranceway for 20 minutes when there are tables open?? That's just downright ignorant. Needless to say -- we left. So did the people behind us. They obviously don't care how much business they lose due to poor etiquette. read more
