To prepare for the baby, we needed help with some basic training reinforcement for our two year old Goldendoodle, Maggie. She's a very smart girl, but very stubborn, and after countless hours of research, we found Capitol K-9. Thank God we did. We are amazed with Brian's work on our dog's behavior, obedience and overall temperament since her ten-day training session with him. Worth every penny- and his prices are super reasonable to begin with. As any dog owner, we really missed our girl while she was gone. But Brian stayed in regular communication with us about her progress, and we loved getting videos and pictures from him. This was so important to us and she clearly loved Uncle Brian and because he treated her like one of his own. After her initial training session, we're looking forward to bringing her back to Brian for an advanced training session sometime in the near future. Back in July, 2 of my dogs were boarded for about 6 days. When I picked them up, I had noticed there was blood on the floor in the lobby, but didn't think anything of it. We went back home and when I was unloading the dogs in the car, I saw that there was blood all over one of the floor mats. After further inspection, it was one of my dogs. They had clipped the quick and was bleeding while still in the facility. He had a rash that was really bad, had hives, lost the hair behind his ears, and had a double ear infection. I was not told any of this when I picked him up, but you can physically see it. He's never been back. On Monday, my sisters cat was showing some pretty disturbing signs. She wasn't eating, drinking, using the bathroom, balance issues, or had any energy. She was just stiff. She was set to have an appt with them on Friday, just to get shots but I called to see if they could see her then. We went there and they checked out her out. They said it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some injections, did some bloodwork, and gave her some medicine. Throughout yesterday, she wasn't getting better, but she wasn't declining. Around 10pm last night, she took a turn for the worst and was rushed to VCA's ER. We then found out that it wasn't an upper respiratory infection, it was something neurological and her eyes were twitching. They kept her overnight to see if they could turn it around. 5 AM this morning, we got a call that she did not make it due to organ failure. The bloodwork showed that. Her liver and kidneys shut down. It was probably something she ingested, but it is unknown on what. I gave them a pass for my boy and took him to somewhere else, but I wasn't expecting them to drop the ball on something like this. My sister's cat was failed terribly. They told us over the phone that they ASSUMED it was an upper respiratory infection because she had one in the past while she was at the humane shelter before she was adopted by my sister. So basically, forget trying to find other causes and just give her all these treatments that cost almost $400 that did nothing. We brought her to the VCA ER and it took them no time to figure out what was going on. It was never an upper respiratory infection. Do better.

The front desk area was organized and they were ready for patients the moment they unlocked the doors. They brought me back into an exam room and the vet tech who came to speak with me was so kind and professional. Communication was great. The facility is beautiful and the layout / color scheme is very welcoming which is a wonderful and thoughtful touch... didn't feel like a white washed hospital. After looking for countless landscapers and not receiving response follow ups my son and I decided to redo the pond to house Koi. The results were phenomenal. Koi were very hard to find in our area, but Petco consistently had them and so the story begins. Each month (twice) we went over to Petco and purchased Koi (oldest 2 to 3 months old from purchase date) and to date they continue to flourish without any issues. The staff each time was professional, interested, stressed the importance of a healthy habitat, what it takes to ensure a healthy habitat, and was extremely welcoming. Our next communication with the Petco staff will always be cherished and remembered! Mandy recalled our situation, my search, and asked me questions which led to one of the most amazing blessings for all involved! Mandy in the most professional and ethical manner matched a customer and I with similar needs which solved a problem. Initially all were excited, but we were concerned about the rehoming, transportation, and overall health of the fish. Unfortunately, none in this area advertises rescue and/or transportation services for Koi. Mandy and Sydney were not deterred and their clear determination, compassion, and care for animals was so evident. They researched, always communicated with parties, and a time was scheduled for the transfer. If I am not mistaken these ladies stated this was their first rescue and rehome, but it seemed as anything but. From netting the fish, calming them down, a smooth ride, and a slow peaceful introduction to their new environment the entire process was flawless, heartwarming, and beyond what I ever imagined. Mandy, Sydney, and the Montgomery, AL Petco staff are simply amazing! Every encounter they go above and beyond to ensure animals are cared for and customers are knowledgeable to ensure well-being and health for pets. Clearly their love and care for animals is authentic and extends past the store. I am forever grateful for Mandy, Sydney, and Petco! These ladies represent and are the epitome of what Petco stands for and advertises. Thank you so much and I hope these employees are valued as much as they provide! We end up driving to Prattville al to buy $100.00 worth of bird food. Alternative is to buy it on line, and that's better than eith of the local alternatives.
