He taught us how to correctly read her and understand her so we could then set her up for success. He used lots of desensitization, counter-conditioning, and reinforcing positive decisions to communicate to her the correct response to things that scared her. We are able to reinforce her trust in us now, and now have gained priceless knowledge for both ourselves and her. She has been able to greatly reduce any anxiety and stress she has and we now have a much stronger bond and can see a visible difference in her. We are thrilled with the work Clint did with her and how he gave her and us the training to allow her to live in a much happier, stress-free, and confident place.

I also use their boarding facilities for my kitties. I almost feel safer leaving them with the TC staff than leaving them with trusted friends or family. I know that when I leave town, loving people are giving my animals love and attention during my absence. What a great feeling. These guys run a well oiled machine with all the right parts. Back in July, 2 of my dogs were boarded for about 6 days. When I picked them up, I had noticed there was blood on the floor in the lobby, but didn't think anything of it. We went back home and when I was unloading the dogs in the car, I saw that there was blood all over one of the floor mats. After further inspection, it was one of my dogs. They had clipped the quick and was bleeding while still in the facility. He had a rash that was really bad, had hives, lost the hair behind his ears, and had a double ear infection. I was not told any of this when I picked him up, but you can physically see it. He's never been back. On Monday, my sisters cat was showing some pretty disturbing signs. She wasn't eating, drinking, using the bathroom, balance issues, or had any energy. She was just stiff. She was set to have an appt with them on Friday, just to get shots but I called to see if they could see her then. We went there and they checked out her out. They said it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave her some injections, did some bloodwork, and gave her some medicine. Throughout yesterday, she wasn't getting better, but she wasn't declining. Around 10pm last night, she took a turn for the worst and was rushed to VCA's ER. We then found out that it wasn't an upper respiratory infection, it was something neurological and her eyes were twitching. They kept her overnight to see if they could turn it around. 5 AM this morning, we got a call that she did not make it due to organ failure. The bloodwork showed that. Her liver and kidneys shut down. It was probably something she ingested, but it is unknown on what. I gave them a pass for my boy and took him to somewhere else, but I wasn't expecting them to drop the ball on something like this. My sister's cat was failed terribly. They told us over the phone that they ASSUMED it was an upper respiratory infection because she had one in the past while she was at the humane shelter before she was adopted by my sister. So basically, forget trying to find other causes and just give her all these treatments that cost almost $400 that did nothing. We brought her to the VCA ER and it took them no time to figure out what was going on. It was never an upper respiratory infection. Do better.

She was introduced to other dogs one at a time (female first then male) then into the general play area. She had a bath and a blueberry facial! Came home exhausted. Had a nap then came out to socialize with the family for a little while before an early bed. When I took her back this morning, she hesitated at the door but then went in. Staff is friendly and really seems to care about the animals. I am able to monitor her play on the web cams during the day. I think she'll be very happy there. They had a chart that had the instructions we repeated six times written down and highlighted. The last three times, we asked them to repeat our simple instructions, "same length all around." After our last visit, I returned my dog to get his tail and ears trimmed to the length we requested. They agreed that his cut did not match the one we requested, so they took him in, trimmed his tail, and walked him back out without trimming his ears. When I asked for them to trim the ears, they said they had no time but would call me back when they did. They never called, so I called them and made an appointment. Then, the day before his appointment, they called to let me know they would charge me for another haircut. I'm giving them two stars because they try hard to be friendly.

After looking for countless landscapers and not receiving response follow ups my son and I decided to redo the pond to house Koi. The results were phenomenal. Koi were very hard to find in our area, but Petco consistently had them and so the story begins. Each month (twice) we went over to Petco and purchased Koi (oldest 2 to 3 months old from purchase date) and to date they continue to flourish without any issues. The staff each time was professional, interested, stressed the importance of a healthy habitat, what it takes to ensure a healthy habitat, and was extremely welcoming. Our next communication with the Petco staff will always be cherished and remembered! Mandy recalled our situation, my search, and asked me questions which led to one of the most amazing blessings for all involved! Mandy in the most professional and ethical manner matched a customer and I with similar needs which solved a problem. Initially all were excited, but we were concerned about the rehoming, transportation, and overall health of the fish. Unfortunately, none in this area advertises rescue and/or transportation services for Koi. Mandy and Sydney were not deterred and their clear determination, compassion, and care for animals was so evident. They researched, always communicated with parties, and a time was scheduled for the transfer. If I am not mistaken these ladies stated this was their first rescue and rehome, but it seemed as anything but. From netting the fish, calming them down, a smooth ride, and a slow peaceful introduction to their new environment the entire process was flawless, heartwarming, and beyond what I ever imagined. Mandy, Sydney, and the Montgomery, AL Petco staff are simply amazing! Every encounter they go above and beyond to ensure animals are cared for and customers are knowledgeable to ensure well-being and health for pets. Clearly their love and care for animals is authentic and extends past the store. I am forever grateful for Mandy, Sydney, and Petco! These ladies represent and are the epitome of what Petco stands for and advertises. Thank you so much and I hope these employees are valued as much as they provide!
