The front desk was rude, and valet parking was a nightmare, slow, unorganized, and very unprofessional. This place is not safe or family-friendly. Avoid Castle Beach Club Apartments - it's misleading and poorly managed

Other than being directly ocean front this hotel offers nothing good. I can't even say we were able…read moreto enjoy the ocean view since the windows leaked and there was mold. We booked a "fully renovated" suite as per the description. What we were given was NOT that. There wasn't even a fresh coat of paint, so I have no idea what their definition of "fully renovated" means. We ended up getting room 1725. From check-in to check-out this entire stay was nothing but stress filled chaos. Driving into the place the line was into the very busy street. The valet parking is an absolute joke. The wait is obnoxious, whether it's due to lack of employees or their system, I have no idea. I just know it shouldn't have taken over an hour to check in and nearly 2 hours to check out. Be prepared to carry all of your luggage up 2 flight of stairs because you're not allowed to take luggage carts outside. Speaking of luggage carts, if you even want to use one be prepared to hand over your ID or they won't allow you usage. Also, if you're handicapped, this is not the place for you. I have a fractured spine due to a cancerous tumor and use a motorized wheelchair. My son had to track down an employee to ask how I was supposed to get in the building (again, 2 flights of stairs leading up to the entrance). He had to go inside and track down another employee who eventually had to open up a pool gate all the way down the hill to let me in, which then lead me to having to take an elevator to the lobby. Speaking of elevators.... If you need to be somewhere at 11am.. you better start leaving your room and waiting for an elevator no later than 9:30am. You will wait up to an hour for an elevator to come to you that isn't full that you can fit in. Forget if you are handicapped. You may wait longer since you can't just "squeeze" in. The room itself was disgusting to put it simply. Some outlets had no covers, there was mold, the window leaked when it rained, the plumbing was letting out a noise that I could only describe as a disgruntled pig squeal. This squeal was all day and night, maybe every 15 minutes or so. I haven't seen a toilet so old since the 80's. The tub was gross. The floor tiles weren't even cut properly. There was nothing comfortable about this room. There was nothing renovated in this room. The hotel expects you to wear a blue "bracelet" that resembles an amusement park bracelet during your entire stay. Talk about a fashion statement. The gate to get back to the hotel from the beach has a lock code on it that we were never given the code to, so the first time we used it we had to wait outside the gate until someone came and opened it for us to enter again. I was completely disgusted with our stay and I can only feel that we wasted our money on a fully renovated ocean front suite and ended up with a mold-infested room with faulty plumbing, probably because it hasn't been updated since the 80's or earlier. Our hard earned money wasted on a vacation that felt nothing like a vacation due to the stress and chaos this hotel provided. If I could rate it zero or even negative, I would. Save your money. There has got to be better options for you and your family.

I was attending Art Basel week in Miami Beach this past December. I was told by a friend that there…read morewas a great Bed & Breakfast in South Beach owned by a private investor. I looked up the rental on airbnb which I was told to do at https://www.airbnb.com/r.... The location was perfect and it would be the perfect location for me and my guests to stay (12/1/13 - 12/10/13). I was asked not to book the rental through airbnb from the owner and he would provide daily housekeeping for a total of $2750. I thought this was a great rate and considering the location it should have been perfect. I had to idea what was to happen upon our arrival. Day 1 We arrived in Miami after a long flight and was informed that we could check-in at 9:00am. We started to try to reach the owner upon our arrival and after multiple phone calls and waiting for 30 minutes at the front door proceeded to take all of our luggage to the first event we were attending. We subsequently received a call mid-afternoon apologizing that he was asleep and offered to pick up our luggage for us. We were finally able to check in at about 7:00pm that night. Day 2 One of my guests returned mid-day to find the "housekeeper" having lunch in the rental with the food that we purchased and my guest was informed that this was something the owner allowed him to do. Day 3 At approximately 11:30pm there was a knock at the front door and one of my guests answered it and outlined to me that there was a young man with a book to return to the owner. I outlined to the visitor that we were renting the house and the owner was not here so the visitor left. Day 4 I was notified that the owner had his real estate agent bringing by prospective buyers of the property. One time I would understand but this happened on 3 separate occasions that disrupted me and my guests. The owner made no apologies or concessions. Day 7 One of my guests noticed some cash (approximately $100) was missing from her room but thought maybe she could have spent it during the trip. Day 8 Upon returning during the afternoon I noticed the housekeeper arriving in the afternoon. He greeted us and proceeded to enter the house. I returned later that evening and another one of my guests outlined that a $100 bill was missing from inside his luggage. This along with the other missing cash began to raise concern. This plus the fact that the house had not been cleaned when the housekeeper supposedly was arriving to clean the house was a concern that I brought up to the owner. The owner was not at all empathetic or concerned but said he woudl look into it. Upon returning to San Francisco both of my guests contacted me and outlined that there were checks missing from the middle of their check books and one of them had three checks stolen and an attempt to cash those checks for $4800 in Miami Beach was caught by the bank and reported to the Miami PD. I immediately contacted the owner and outlined all of the issues and was met with a run around of stories and his complete lack of concern with our experience with his rental. He outlined that this "story" was meant to get the housekeeper fired which was completely outrageous. I tried for over two weeks to come up with a resolution for this experience and was finally dismissed by the owner without any resolution. I have filed a trip adviser report as well as reported this property https://www.airbnb.com/r... to http://www.airbnb.com. To date there is no resolution to this issue.

We weren't expecting a resort spa like stay but a calm nice place with some amenities. From my long rant you will find out that the only thing offered is Wi-Fi, which now days you get free at McDonald's. The place was essentially a group of small studios connected by a long hallway. No front desk, we got there and there was a hand written note to call a number and a man came and gave us the code to get in and the code for our room and he said to call anytime if we had any questions or concerns. Once in our room we realized how small it was. The bathroom was miniscule with a stand up shower and saloon doors, which makes for incredible awkward bathroom trips if you're not comfortable with your travel companion. The shower curtain was stained and the shampoo bottles were used seemingly not changed from the last guest, I didn't mind much because I don't usually use hotel shampoo anyways and my husband is bald. On our first night we noticed a stain on the duvet but since it was a warm night, we threw the comforter on the floor and checked if at least the sheets were clean, we would deal with that in the morning. Comes the morning we are on our way out and see a housekeeper, so we tell her everything and she says she will take care of it. We come home later that evening and the dirty comforter was folded, still stained, on the chair and nothing else was done. The room had not been cleaned at all!!!! We call the man from the day before and he comes over apologizes for the comforter but then proceeds to tell us that housekeeping is only done if we ask for it...... say what now???? 2 things that annoyed me about this situation (besides not having my room cleaned) : 1. He didn't tell us that rule before. 2. If I told the housekeeper all those problems shouldn't she realize that we wanted them fixed?!?! Or at least ask us if we wanted the room cleaned. Since it was already late at night and we were leaving early morning we didn't want to deal with finding a new place and just stuck it out. We are not finicky, hard to please people, we have stayed at Airbnbs and rented from homeaway. Based on my review, it can be noted that we are usually very tolerant but this place was a disappointment. The decor of the room was a fine mix of south eastern Asia inspired Ikea, which somehow worked. Even though the room was small, the bed was not uncomfortable and you do get a small kitchen space. However for the price you pay and the fact that it's not a hotel and ,in my opinion, not really an inn either, I would not recommend it to anyone unless they start advertising what they truly offer.

The walls are super thin, it's noisy, and feels unsafe. There is no electricity for one side of the room. Theres no door for the bathroom and shower either and just cowboy saloon doors, so if you are with a guest it's awkward. The place is also in the middle of nowhere and it's not a good place - so find something else.
