Vintage is brought to us by the same owners as their immediate next door plaza neighbours, Salon V, which has been in this location for quite a while. I was in the area today for another meeting when I remembered this place was close by so I thought I'd pop by to check it out. When i got there I discovered that not only is it a barbershop for men but also an espresso bar. Amazing. A bonfide GTA slashie! Slashie is two different business categories operating under the same roof. Example Laundry and liquor store. Don't laugh, it's a thing. For real. I knew I didn't need a hair cut, but I was definitely in need of a shave and an afternoon espresso couldn't hurt. Basically this is the moment in my day when I was at my MOST Italian. The cafe portion is a beautiful raw edge front counter equipped with some real deal espresso machines and bar stools for quick coffees and also makes for the front counter of the barber shop. The espresso (long) was amazing. Great rich taste and smooth on the way down. Served properly with a small glass of water. Perfecto! On to the shave, it wasn't busy to Kroom (sounds like broom with a K - as he put it) sat me down and went to work. Trimmed the bold down, lined up my edges and took great care to soften my beard and give me a super close shave - without one single nick! By the end I was totally relaxed, lined up, a little caffeinated (so maybe not totally relaxed) but very very happy with the result. The shave was only $25! And the espresso only $2 and change. Great location, services and staff! I'll definitely be back, if not for another shave, definitely for an eshpress and a chat with the Pisanis sitting at the counter!

The Barber Chair is a tough one to review. Your mileage may vary at this place depending on what you are looking for and who serves you. I have been 4 times and ordered the same haircut (shave all the hair off, clean shave) and shave (hot towel shave) every time and had 4 very different outcomes. For the price, which is reasonable but not cheap, I would hope for a bit more consistency from the various barbers working there. However it's a super easy problem to solve: when you find the stylist who does what you ask for exactly how you like it, simply remember their name and make an appointment over the phone asking for that particular person. Done! Problem solved. I do this now and it's perfect every time. I like this place a lot, it's cozy, has very friendly staff and has an espresso machine with a bottle of Sambuca next to it for your own boozy coffee needs. And hey if you don't have the specific needs I do you may find every stylist here perfectly suits you and thats fine too! Either way, give this place a shot.

None of this silly washing your hair before hand. The dive right in and start cutting (or razoring...whatever the case may be). Costs is great.....$18 for a cut, including a good old fashioned straight razor for the sideburns, neck and around the ears. Perhaps I've watched too many slasher films but this usually freaks me out.....but here I've never felt anything more than comfortable. The guys working here are great and funny. Old time school. Finally met Tom who said he'll be retiring in about 3 years, but one of the younger barbers will be taking over. The legacy will live on.

Mr Kim here reminds me of mr Kim in the tv show Kims convenience. The way they speak is very similar. Mr Kim here is easygoing and approachable. He did my haircut in a pretty short time. Maybe 5-10 minutes. He did my husband's hair in a even shorter time. It is a nice neighborhood hair studio.
