During the hair wash, water was in my ears and down my back. My stylist only spent about 5-10 minutes actually cutting my hair, so I was in and out the door in about 20 minutes, where a normal haircut for me is about 40-60 minutes. That might sound good for anyone looking for a quick cut over their lunch break, but not if you saw how I looked afterwards! I know that a cut doesn't include styling, but my stylist was so rushed that she only dried my hair about 50% of the way, and didn't bother to brush the hair clippings off my face or ask me if I was satisfied with the result before she walked away to the cash register. I quickly picked the hair clippings off my own face while she waited for me up front. The other staff person at the front told me my hair looked great, which seemed pretty insincere considering I looked like I had just been electrocuted or through a tornado. I quickly put my hair up into a bun before I went home and fixed it myself. I kind of get the impression that this place maybe only gives their clients proper attention if you're getting a higher priced/more Instagram-able service like balayage... Needless to say, i won't be returning.

Compare to some hair salons in Chinatown, this place is definitely cleaner and high-end. The staff was nice. To be honest, the haircut is just an OK. I'd post a photo but I'm so embarrassed and insecure because of the terrible haircut DOES NOT suit what I knew would look good on me. I normally go to Marca College at the dufferin mall however I was eager to try this place as I heard it had good reviews. I never was introduced to the stylist however he was one of the males working there. He seemed friendly. He asked what I wanted and I told him and he seemed to understand-- I was very wrong. I should have shown him a photo but he also could have asked questions about what I wanted as he got to the front of my head. He said he would do below the shoulder hair and everything but two strands in the back of my head are ABOVE THE SHOULDER. I had asked for face framing and long layers and he gave me bangs and choppy, uneven, short layers. The hair from my chin to my ear is the same length as my "bangs" and two random chunks of hair are the length I asked for. He then ended the haircut by showing me how my hair would look parted to the side, almost like he was attempting to hide the terrible haircut. He knew that I only wear my hair parted in the middle. I left here feeling uglier than I did when I came in. I have since bought castor oil to try to grow this mess out to get it fixed. Although I'm sure it's just the stylist, I do not trust this hair salon. I should have waited in line to get my hair done at marca as they always do what I ask them to and they ask multiple questions along the way. The hair students are way more qualified than this one stylist I had who never even introduced himself to me. If you're thinking of trying this place out, please do but if you want to avoid the stylist I got, just avoid any male stylist at this salon.

I happen to be a male, with a full head of medium length hair. Not sure what the issue is. Waltzed my way to Cosimo's and the owner at the front was as pleasant and accommodating as you can get. I was seen by Elsa, and she was and continues to be lovely. When I say, "just a slight trim" thats exactly what she does. She now cuts my son and daughters hair. We've even done a day of pampering for both of them. She even let my daughter wash my sons hair. This is a great, great salon. Sure it doesnt have the fancy vibe of Bloor West, but I am fairly certain that vibe is factored into the price of other places. Highly recommend, and great for kids.

Especially since he is a skilled barber, and I know this isn't his best work. Now I don't know if his slapdash work was on account of my choice to not wear a mask(they give me horrid headaches) but regardless of the reason for his shoddy work he has lost an almost life long customer. It's a husband and wife team that own it i believe . It's small- only one of them working when I've been there.. that means you get all the attention/ focus. I moved away from Toronto/ my permanent hairdresser and had to find a new one. I went to many places. Finally found this salon ...I used to go to Vidal Sassoon in Toronto or to hair Xtacy in Burlington (stopped going to the latter because Carmen, who used to care about hair and his customers, stopped. A long time ago. He got greedy and lazy. Shame- but 20 years will do that. His full talent may be worth what he charges but NO ONE gets that from him anymore- SO entitled. I never had a falling out with him either, he just deserves this honorable mention for god-awful behaviour). The male owner REALLY listens to your requests. And he can execute them. Only negative; he could answer the phone less during - yet I do understand he is the only one there. Psa - i have never gotten dye / bleach there. Only cause I am really quite adept with bleach myself and it costs a fortune to upkeep unless you do it at home. The cuts are totally worth going for - I'm very very picky with my hair cuts. Price is good for his talent level. Like 150 for two. He cuts my partners hair also. He sometimes has hair longer than shoulder but mostly has a shaggy cut that's above the shoulder. He does an excellent job whether it's men's or women's - also he takes the style I want on my man, and he alters it a bit in the front and top so that his hair looks full rather than usual stylists who just follow the cut with no consideration for how your hair is in texture,, thin/thickness, etc. He does cuts that translate on curly hair or straight hair (I got an adapted wolf cut style last time). I've got waves and ringlets mixed and I am a bleached blonde/ level 10. I don't like the owners wife's cuts as much as his, though....just my preference!
