Meyer's Castle - Meyer's Castle Wedding Venue - Franzi Annika Photography

Meyer's Castle

I truly cannot sing her praises high enough. From the moment I arrived that morning to the very last minute of the night, Eva was by my side whenever I needed her. I had the bridal suite rented for the day, and she was there first thing to greet me with a smile and then stayed all the way until the end helping us pack everything up. She easily spent 16 hours making sure every detail was handled so my husband and I did not have to stress for a single second. Eva is the perfect mix of fun, kind and refreshingly candid. She told me exactly what to expect throughout the day so there were no surprises, no confusion and zero stress. She kept everything running smoothly without ever feeling overbearing or rushed. One moment that really shows who she is: during our bridal luncheon, we realized I had miscounted the number of sandwiches we needed. Without hesitation, Eva shared her own lunch and gave half to my stepmom. It is such a small but meaningful example of how thoughtful and generous she is. Eva went above and beyond in every possible way. She cared about our wedding as if it were her own, and we felt completely supported from start to finish. If you are getting married at Meyer's Castle or anywhere Eva works, you will be incredibly lucky to have her on your team. She made our day magical. Thank you, Eva. You are truly exceptional.

Truly a Fairytale Wedding at Meyer's Castle - Thanks to Eva!…read more Our wedding at Meyer's Castle was nothing short of magical, and we owe so much of that to our incredible coordinator, Eva. From day one, Eva was organized, thoughtful, and so genuinely caring. She made sure every detail was in place and that everything ran smoothly--not just behind the scenes, but for me personally as the bride. The day was beautiful, but hot, and Eva went above and beyond to make sure I stayed comfortable and calm. At one point when I was feeling overheated, she literally helped pin my hair up herself. That kind of kindness, grace, and hands-on support is something I'll never forget. Meyer's Castle was the most stunning backdrop to our big day. The grounds are breathtaking, the atmosphere is so elegant, and our guests were completely blown away by the beauty of it all. Every part of the venue felt like it was straight out of a fairytale--from the ceremony setting to the castle charm that made the whole day feel surreal. I truly can't imagine having done this without Eva by our side. She was a calm in the chaos, a true professional, and someone who genuinely cared about making our day perfect. If you're thinking about booking Meyer's Castle--do it. And if you're lucky enough to have Eva as your coordinator, just know you're in the best hands. I'll be forever grateful for her and this dreamy venue that brought our love story to life. Thank you, Eva & Meyer's Castle, for a day we'll cherish forever!

In addition to an intimate 410-seat thrust stage theater and an art gallery, this facility has a pair of elegant dining rooms for banquets and special events, and also a gift shop featuring handcrafted items. We were participants in a 'group package' which included a hot multi-course lunch followed by a matinee performance of "Ghost." The meal, consisting of lemon rice soup, a choice of Chicken Tetrazzini or Beef Stroganoff, and chocolate cake, exceeded our expectations. Though basic, this 'comfort food' was yummy, attractively plated, and served at just the right temperature. They were a bit parsimonious with the rolls and a basket of crackers (the latter was whisked away as soon as we finished the soup), but otherwise the portions were ample and the servers were genial and attentive. Afterwards, we had time to explore the gift shop and art gallery. The restrooms are immaculate. The theater has comfortable seating with generous legroom and excellent sightlines. Although the scenery and props for "Ghost" were minimal, the performance was so absorbing that we soon became too engrossed to notice the bare-bones setting. We also enjoyed chatting with General Manager Richard, who likes to mingle with the guests. If only the staffs at other fine arts venues were as personable and informative. All in all, it was a perfect day.

Every single family-style meal I've had here has had the same problem: not enough food to go around. People at my table didn't even get their first plate before the kitchen was "out of food." How does that even happen at a banquet hall? And what they brought out as a replacement was a joke--boxed frozen fried shrimp and French fries. Seriously, it felt like they raided a freezer aisle and hoped no one would notice. The guy at the table next to us was allergic to seafood, so all he got to eat was fries. That's beyond unacceptable. If I were the chef, I'd be embarrassed to send people home hungry. I actually had to stop at White Castle on the way home because this place couldn't provide a proper meal. Bottom line: nice venue, but if you actually care about feeding your guests, look somewhere else.

The dessert table was set out so early that that the guests ended up eating them as an appetizer since the real appetizers were no where to be found. We paid for the hall to set up the desserts but my wife ended up rearranging it to look presentable anyway. Should have just kept our money on that. The kitchen did bring out a small amount of random appetizers they somehow found in the kitchen to try to make up for it once they were informed our appetizers had not been served. We originally ordered enough appetizers for everyone to get some so when the replacement appetizers came out, not all of our 135 guests were able to receive one. They did get a plumber out quickly to address the bathroom situation, however, our guests had to endure the mess which ruined some of their dresses. The bartenders were not consistent. One said they were out of something then you went to the other one and they had it a moment later. We paid a required fee for a security guard and saw him for maybe an hour of the reception. The positives: My compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. The chicken and potatoes plated meal was amazing and our guests agreed. The weather was beautiful so we were thankfully able to have our ceremony at the gazebo as planned. The managers answered our questions promptly. They did apologize for the issues we had and that was appreciated, however, did not offer to refund any money and it does not change our experience.
