It's an aesthetically pleasing store currently playing Taylor Swift's new album. INVENTORY: The boutique is big time nautical inspired - think mermaids, seafood, and Lake Erie. You can find cute pairings printed on tees - lobster + wine, champagne + oysters. Beyond the tees, there are wine charms, sweatshirts, hair clips, mugs, candles, necklaces, and more. Clothing goes up to 2XL which is incredibly refreshing. Prices are fairly reasonable considering the uniqueness. My favorite art print at the store was "Haunted Sites of Cleveland." I had no idea some of them are haunted. Playhouse Square? What an ornate location to haunt. I was eyeing champagne + oysters tee for $32. I could envision having a Sunday brunch in this tee somewhere lakeside. Ultimately I decided against it for two reasons. One is I like my tees to be a bit baggy and this was a very tight-looking fit. Two is I am the worst person dressed in white due to continuous stains that find me. SERVICE: The service at this store is okay. There's a lack of warmth and sincere friendliness. Slight elitist overtone. Stop in if you're looking for a new outfit to sail Lake Erie. You're guaranteed to find unique statement pieces. I'll be on the lookout for pairings tees so that I can finally own Shore Society apparel.

But if you take a walk through the hallways of Eton, you'll be so pleased to stumble into Mulholland & Sachs. Everything in the store is made in America, which wins immediately in my book. They have a beautiful selection of homewares, bridal gifts and accessories/jewelry. While they carry items by artists and other small makers, they also have well known brands like Kate Spade. They also have gorgeous stationary and student/office accessories. It's also a monogram dream...for everything from monogram cheeseboards and other entertainment pieces. You can also do a wedding registry in the store! But what really impressed me was there customization selection. They can do lovely monogram accessories of all types on items like jewelry boxes, serving trays and more. In the back of the store, they also have a section to do custom pillows with Greek lettering. The fabric is super thick and the pillow is quality. OMG! If any of you know how hard it is find to sorority-licensed merchandise, you're likely gasping with excitement right now, too. Definitely will be stopping in again the next time I need an elegant gift for an engagement, wedding, sorority sister, or college student.

The artisans they carry range from true locals to bi-coastal designers, nestled behind cases in their well-lit store. I recently purchased a pair of Cleveland Street Glass earrings that have become a fast favorite. Cleveland Street Glass creates jewelry from auto glass swept right off the streets from car break-ins. Each piece is completely unique, showing off the natural breaks and aqua hues of the shattered glass. It sounds crazy, but they are brilliant. They are up-cycled and super unique. Yes, the prices inside The W are pricey. Keep in mind, this is a high-end jewelry store. They carry all types of jewelry ranging from silver, bronze, gold, gemstones, wood, glass, diamond, etc. The gals who helped my Mom and I were really personable, and it was so cool to actually meet the designer of my earrings (she just happened to be in the store!). Arcades were once a place to be when downtown shopping felt sophisticated. And so, Cleveland had…read moremultiple arcades including the 5th Street Arcades (not to be confused with the Arcade across the street). There were once two standalone arcades, the Colonial (built in 1898) and Euclid (build in 1911). These two structures were combined into the 5th Street Arcades. These arcades hold a lot of history and retail. AMBIANCE: The 5th Street Arcades are adorned with history - ornate ceilings and trims. Don't forget to look up and take in all the beauty. The space includes two walkways accessible from the Euclid Avenue and near East 4th. Should you use a ride share, consider the existence of various entrances. Arcades include retail and dining. There are only a handful of businesses. I most recommend Geraci's pizza (delicious pizza in diner setting), Intro (for fun outfits for your downtown outings), Coco's Selfie Studio (for documenting your family's moment), Rocket Fizz (for candy nostalgia), and Colossal Cupcakes (for the most Instagrammable sweets). You'll also find something very nostalgic - shoe shine! Ensure that you check the working hours of these establishments, most stores remain closed on weekends and have odd hours. Check retail and dining directory on the 5th Street Arcades website. HOLIDAY MARKETS: The 5th Street Arcades will be hosting Holiday Makers Market this Christmas season. They will be on weekends - Saturdays and Sundays. PARKING: Parking is available at various parking lots downtown (Euclid Avenue or by E 4th Street). If you're staying as a tourist in the city, it's an easy walk from all the hotels on Euclid Avenue. Personally, I enjoy the 5th Street Arcades for the architectural experience and not so much the businesses. There is nothing in the building that would consistently keep me coming back. The Arcades now stand mostly deserted. It would have been great to see them years ago in their full vibrancy.
