My first visit went smoothly, however the receptionists are completely incompetent and could never figure out how to send me any receipts, updated statements or my patient info which I still have yet to receive. I had to send my email about 4 times before they got it right because they kept misspelling it. This has led to me trusting them about as far as I can throw them. I never felt any of the benefits and it actually made a condition I developed later a lot worse. quite frankly for the price, it is not worth it unless you have insurance. My biggest complaint has to be the fact myself and another patient were told not to eat kale and greens because they supposedly cause inflammation. This is absolutely untrue there are studies to back it up. Leafy greens help sooth inflammation and would lead to the patient feeling less pain. I don't know where Sean is getting his information from, but he needs to stick to being a chiropractor and not peddle false information. I do get it though, a customer in pain always returns, so you gotta keep them in that state I have left this place feeling like they just want you to keep coming back to make a buck off of you. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

I've been treated by the Balanced Spine for many years through many issues as I've aged. The BS treatments have helped me immensely!!

Dr Fryer is fantastic. Never has he failed to heal what was bothering me. Great communicator of the issues and what needs to be done to fix the issues. Always runs on time so you are not waiting in the lobby. Great office staff; very flexible when you have questions or scheduling issues. read more

I'm not sure if Dr. Fryer is an effective practitioner - he may be. Don't go there unless you want to pay a steep fee up front. I was having severe pain from sciatica, and was trying anything that might help. On my first visit I was impressed that the office was able to obtain my insurance information quickly and assured me happily that I would be covered. He gives an initial exam and X-ray and then another exam and X-ray quickly follows within a day or three. If I had not been told about my insurance situation I probably would have waited on the second set of X-rays. I'm pretty sure many chiropractors have a similar initial procedure. This ran me about $500 before nary a crack, yet with some subtle adjustments. I was told that this is a discount. When I found out after about a month that my insurance did not cover the initial exams I was upset. I know it is my responsibility to pay no matter what, but they made mistakes when communicating with my insurance. After much thought I suggested that we split the difference. I thought it fair that I pay half and they reduce the fee. I got a flat "no" and was told that in fact I was lucky because Dr. Fryer gave me exercises to do and didn't even charge me for that extra "care." I really feel that I was just an income stream there. I just couldn't bring myself to ever go back. read more

The people seemed nice in this office, however, there didn't seem to be thorough communication about costs and insurance coverage up front because this turned out to be a problem. Additionally, I was charged for an adjustment that I don't recall having. Lastly, it felt like I got a huge sales pitch during my last visit which changed my view of this business (not for the better). read more

My boyfriend and I went to the balanced spine for a few months at the beginning of this year. I've had neck issues for a long time and atlas orthogonal was the chiropractic that helped the most. Dr. Fryer made both of our necks SO much worse. I was in pretty constant pain, as was my boyfriend, and when we brought it up to Dr. Fryer, he would just say we should wait it out and that it would improve. When we finally went back to my atlas Dr, we both had to get new xrays and spent a lot of money in repeat visits trying to get back to where we were before seeing Dr. Fryer. Not only this, but after we stopped seeing Dr. Fryer, I was still charged almost $200.00 per month for the next three months. In spite of our situation pain wise, and the fact that we were discontinuing our patronage of the Balanced Spine, nothing was done to lower the cost of care that my boyfriend wasn't even receiving any more. If you need a chiropractor in Issaquah, find a different one. If you need a chiropractor for neck/atlas issues, there is an amazing one that is easily searchable. He was the one who finally fixed the damage that was done, and he doesn't have any shady billing practices. I do not leave bad reviews generally on yelp, but this entire situation warrants the single star because I want to warn people away from worse pain. My pain probably tripled in the time I saw Dr. Fryer, and between the two of us and the two chiropractors that it took to put us back to right, I've spent over a thousand dollars fixing the damage. I waited until the last payment came down on my credit card before writing this review. read more

Please Dont go to this place. these people are thieves i went their to ask if chiropractic is good for my situation one young dr told me he need to do test to find out and give me treatment plan which suppose to be free complimentary, but they lied to me me and now send the bill to collection agency shameful and dishonest practice should be reported to bbb and other forums read more

My faith in Chiropractors is not restored. I was looking for somebody that was focused on helping me and not selling me a subscription. I was hopeful at the start and gave it a shot for 3+ months. Go every couple of days, spent less than 5 minutes being treated and pay a steep fee for it and not seeing much benefit. It also felt like smoke and mirrors. Measuring how your hips and shoulders are aligned, which you never see, and saying things look much better now after being treated. read more

I Don't Usually right reviews, and I know people say that... but I really don't. I thought I would right a review about my great experience at The Balanced Spine. First off I have never been to a chiropractic Dr. before so I was not to sure what to expect. I also choose this place in particular for its gental way of correction, as in I can be prone to passing out with the popping cracking and twisting. I got recommended Dr Fryer by a couple of people I knew of But I ended up seeing Dr.Brent Froberg! Whom is Amazing by the way! He is not only super friendly but he defiantly makes you feel as ease and like you belong in a good way of course .Both Dr's are great there and i have been seen by Dr Fryer once. He was also super friendly! I highly recommended Dr. Froberg for your chiropractic needs for on going or first time issues like my self! Thanks again!! MIchele read more

Poor customer service regarding billing as others mentioned. They confirmed prior to the appointment that insurance would cover since they were in network with my plan, however upon arriving they said that insurance would not cover and if I did not go through with the appointment they would charge me a $50 fee. The two ladies at the front desk were whispering to each other and rolling their eyes saying that there's likely no fault or mistake on their end which I felt was quite rude given I let them know they could go back to the voicemails and phone records if they wanted to check. After asking to speak with the manager, they waived the cancellation fee and made it sound like they were the ones doing me a huge favor. I don't like to leave negative reviews but this place seems unethical and I would caution people to have the billing expectations in writing before going to this practice. (FWIW they've shut down Google reviews likely because of all the poor reviews they would get.) read more

I feel better and feel healthier, I work a desk all day and thanks to Dr. Fryer my lower back pain has gone due to his highly precise and light adjustments made on my neck. No snap crackle pop here. I'm doing a lot better and from the faces of other patients I see in the office at the same time I'm assuming they get the same feeling. read more

This place is great. Both of the expert QSM3 chiropractors really care about making you feel better. You begin with an hour long consultation where they really get to know your body, pain, and goals for recovery. They setup a personal schedule of treatments for you for the most successful healing as well. I believe I am on the road to complete recovery from my formerly very painful sciatica. They are into TOTAL body health, advocating the anti-inflammatory paleo diet and giving you stretches to do on your own to enhance your treatments. The design in the office is clean, comfortable, bright and welcoming. read more

Dr. Fryer is an amazing, caring and talented chiropractor. We just moved to the area and I was looking for someone who could treat my 11 yr old and 14yr old as well as help me with my wellness needs. Dr. Fryer took us through his protocol, which is backed by science and immediately assessed our needs/issues. He proposed a treatment plan for our family that made total sense! I didn't want to go to a traditional chiropractor, I was looking for a progressive, healing and caring chiropractor ( that took our insurance) and that's what I found in the Balanced Spine! Dr. Fryer even treated my Son that same day because he wasn't feeling well. That night my Son slept through the night and woke up talking about how good Dr. Fryer made him feel. I instantly felt comfortable with Dr. Fryer and was impressed how knowledgeable he is. The Balanced Spine is our family's new healing place! read more

I first started seeing Dr Fryer back in 2010 and I have only had great experiences with him. He's finally gotten my back pain under control and I'm now only visiting on an "as needed" basis. I recently hurt my back on a Sunday and had to see a different chiropractor and they did not relieve any of the pain and then went to see Dr Fryer the very next day and within hours my back pain started to feel better. He is truly an amazing chiropractor and despite how far away he is I will continually make the drive to see him. Highly recommend his practice. read more

I was skeptical when I started but now I recommend this place to all my friends. There aren't any massive adjustments made by cracking my back or things like that. Instead, tiny adjustments are made with very precise pressure on the neck. I never would have believed that it works, but my back has never felt so good! read more

I went in and met with someone who told me up front she did not have her license yet, so right off the bat I wasn't sure why I was talking with her at all. I tried to pay my patient responsibility while onsite and the billing person was unavailable so they couldn't take my payment at all. Then they sent me a bill even though I am certain my annual max out of pocket had been met. I asked if they even submitted it to insurance and never got a satisfactory answer. They have been sending me bills with no way to pay online using my health savings account. Yesterday I received a rude email telling me that they were sending my account over to collections. I immediately responded asking for my statement to be emailed to me with instructions on how to pay online and I suspect I will not get an answer. I will update this review if I do. I can't comment on the quality of service since I never went back, but I can tell you their business operations is terrible so you should expect issues with insurance claims and billing. read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. DON'T GO HERE! We're now paying over $300 for our first and only visit as we decided this type of chiropractic care is not for us! This place is a huge disappointment. DO NOT GO HERE! Very unhappy with the whole situation and don't want this to happen to others! read more

My wife went first, then my daughter and now me. Nothing but good to say. Kind of feels weird at first cause the doc is not reefing on your body, but the results speak for themselves. Also, we started doing the paleo diet and feel great and have lost 20+ lbs in 3 months. I never review stuff, but they deserve a vote of confidence. read more

After a car accident and seeing another chiropractor for several months 3 times a week, only to leave there in more pain then when I arrived, I was looking for another chiropractor or something to relieve my serious pain from sever whiplash. I heard Dr. Fryer on a radio program a few times and wondered what NUCCA chiropractors were all about, I'd never heard of this modality. I had seen a chiropractor for several years when I was younger so the popping and back cracking was all I knew so when I was rear ended, I knew I'd be going for chiropractic treatment. I can't even begin to explain how different NUCCA is. It's a tiny amount of painless pressure on the neck and when you get up any pain I had when I arrived was gone! The staff are always kind and often (not always but often) I can get in same day for an adjustment. Super handy when the ol back Is giving me a hard time! I've also done massage there and it was great too. I'd highly recommend The Balanced Spine and if you've never heard or tried NUCCA, you will be amazed!! read more

I had the pleasure to meet with Dr. F & he was amazing. ..soon after that I had the opportunity to meet his associate -Leslie & she was just as well...The Only catcher is that She Pushed that I Pay my 500 deductible up front even though I mentioned that I have other providers that I see...she stated that it was ok, and if I went over my deductible they would refund me the amount exceeded. I've been working in the dental field for well over 15 yrs and Never in All of the offices that I worked in have we Ever said to our patients that you need to pay your deductible before we proceed....I felt like they wanted to get as much money from me as they could & still am Not getting a bill from them even tho they want my credit card number. ..I believe in the care - just not their approach in customer care...not cool read more

I am a chiropractor myself and I see Dr. Fryer for my regular adjustments. His work is super gentle and highly effective. I am a competitive athlete so I am pretty hard on my body but with Dr. Fryer's help I am able to keep my back and neck in alignment and continue to work out hard. The office is beautiful and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I also have taken advantage of the massage theraypy available at the office. I have seen at least two of their massage therapists both of whom were excellent. I highly recommend the Balanced spine for an overall great experience! read more

This chiropractor aggressively promotes frequent visits because such benefits him financially. I have gone to several different chiropractors during the last forty plus years. I stopped seeing this one in part because of overt pushing of clients to see him frequently. This includes repeated phone calls to try to get you to come back, including offering possible winning of a free vacation for returning. Can you imagine your MD doing either of these things??? Let your neck and back decide for you when / if you need to see a chiropractor. read more

I love it when a doctor spells it all out for me straight - Eat Right, Move Right, Think Right! Makes sense to me! Take care of myself, and my body will take care of me. I'm simply impressed - no pills, no shots, just good, clean health. read more
