We were attracted in by the display of goodies and the fact it was real fresh food, free of cheap rubbish.
The guy serving behind the counter spoke clear English, smiled to us and he was welcoming which is what you'd expect when you are contributing to his pay day.
We ordered two cappuccinos (€1.4 each) and one individual lemon meringue pie (pie €3.3) between us to try, after all, we'd just had coffee & donuts in Starbucks about 15 minutes before this.
The seating is ok but it's not mega comfy and the coffee was darn good despite the fact it came from a domestic pod contraption.
The pie however was disappointing at its €3.3 price tag. The soft meringue was almost like a sticky paste and stuck to the fork. The filling was nowhere near lemon enough either.
I expected a good hit of fresh lemon, not just an overwhelming sticky sugary sweetness as was the case here. It certainly didn't live up to our expectations.
We asked about WiFi, which apparently they had, but as we were told it wasn't working they may as well just have said no.
All in all, at €6.10, it scrapes just about 3 star on a good day. If the price of the tart was a euro less or had real lemon zing in it then I'd have said 4 star. read more
