Decor is beautiful, service - impeccable, and food --- heavenly! Brunch is our thing and coming from LA, we have had a LOT of brunch meals. We were saying to each other how this place would make a killing in Los Angeles. We ordered a banana/chocolate chip scone, corned beef hash, jumbo oats, and a large flat white coffee (which is basically coffee with milk). The scone was warm and not too sweet. Corned beef hash was so tasty! Ingredients tasted fresh and their house made hollandaise just made the dish over the top delicious. Their jumbo oats... Oh. My. Goodness. I know, I know, who raves about oatmeal? Well, I do! This was so damn good! The oats tasted like they were just cooked and the muscovado sugar and cream made the whole dish come together perfectly. It wasn't too sweet nor was it too creamy. The coffee was also good - so good we ordered another one to go. If we lived here, we would probably come here every weekend. PARKING: Plenty of spaces and free. SERVICE: Efficient and very friendly service. You grab a menu, have a seat, and get back in line to order your food when you're ready.

The service is wonderful and the staff seem happy to be working there (although they could take orders a wee bit faster sometimes). There are plenty of different seating options, either out the front or out the back - both providing different atmospheres. The food always looks amazing - even when I order food 'off the menu' (i.e. just make up an order). They take pride in the food they offer their customers and ensure that it not only tastes amazing but looks like it tastes amazing!! They also have amazing cabinet food, with gluten free options for those that need them. They are also responsive to images/comments on Instagram which is an added bonus, making customers feel like they're wanted and welcome in store.

The Eggs Benidict with king salmon on house made ciabatta bread-a perfect poach and delicious. The big breakfast had scrambled eggs with a vaguely citrus taste that was different but wonderful, sausages squares of whipped feta and exquisite roasted heirloom tomatoes and delicious potatoes. As I mentioned every item on the plate is completed to perfection. I'm dying to try their fantastic looking pastries.

It was open at the time I was in the area and it did look inviting. I perused the menu and decided to give it a try. Walking in I saw the old-fashioned furnishings, metal chairs, display cases, wall shelves, big bar in the middle all in a long and narrow room. Yessss, this looks lie something out of the 50s and I like it. After a long hard look at the menu I opted for the Salami platter... Strangely enough there wasn't salami, but more like a smoked ham, prosciutto like meat. It tasted great, so what's in a name. Delicious heirloom tomatoes, capers, salami impersonator, cream cheese, capers, pickles and your choice of bread. I had chosen crumpets and regretted that . Not because they weren't delicious, because they were so yummy, but they were also so buttery that I couldn't get the cream cheese to stick and everything I tried to put on the crumpet just slid right off them. I got the bottomless cup of coffee and I must say, this is really good coffee and the refills kept coming also. I love the atmosphere in here and there are so many great choices on the menu. If I ever come back tot Auckland, I will definitely stop by this place again.

It's a popular place and they were crowded but we didn't have to wait for a table. There was plenty of food for each order. My wife had a street dog and fries and I had a Ruben. They were pretty decent. I wasn't as happy with the fries. They were like the bottom of a pile and mostly little pieces with very few full length slices. Prices were extremely reasonable. I would definitely eat there again.

Took 40 minutes to get our order, then ended up leaving half of it on the plate ..... what did get eaten was more out of curiosity as we tried to work out WTF was going on on that plate. We recently visited newly opened Onehunga Cafe. I was sad to say it was a not the ideal experience…read morethat one hopes. We came for brunch, but they had set times for breakfast and lunch, with the lunch menu beginning at 1130. By the time we sat down and read the menu it was just turned 1130, so we asked to order from the lunch menu, but was informed that we would have to wait an extra time then people ordering breakfast since the kitchen hadn't set up for lunch. So we all had no choice but to order from the breakfast menu. When we ordered, two of the menu items we wanted had already run out, which is something you dont want to hear. The mushrooms on toast, was fairly disappointing, they weren't creamy, nor cooked long enough. My plate also came out with a dirty smear on the side. The berry smoothie I ordered I couldn't finish. The consistency and flavour had totally missed the mark. I tried the hollandaise sauce from one of the dishes, and there was far too much acid. Everything was sad looking and I don't think there was a lot of taste testing from the kitchen before the dishes were sent out. Components were also missing, such as the spinach from the eggs bene and the broad beans from the mushrooms on toast. At the end of it all we did mention all these problems to the manager and he explained that there had been a menu issue. He mentioned that the kitchen was poorly organised due to the change that was supposedly starting the following day. He happily discounted all of our food and apologised. I am happy that he accepted our feedback and in saying that hopefully the cafe can only improve from here. However with all the strong competition in Auckland and new eateries opening up so frequently there is no room for errors. People will rule you out after their first experience and go to a place that gives great food and service straight off the bat.
