This place is packed with sandwiches, muffins, salads, fruit, soup and everything my mum would approve of. Well, maybe not so much the chocolate bars. But hard working brains need a boost every now and again right? The best thing is, is that the food's really cheap. I loved their fruit salad containers that are filled with melon, apple, grapes...all the nice fruits. And the soups were perfect on those cold winter days. They also have seating outside which is great if you want to chill in the sunshine and people watch for your lunch break. This shop is always a winner for me and I'm thankful for it's convenience and price all the time.

For me this is heaven, nothing satisfies a student more than cheap food! I saw the sign as I was about to head into Imax food court but I ran across the road to Global Sandwich. I bought a smoked chicken sandwich on five grain bread and a banana muffin. This cost me $3.70! If you don't believe me head down there yourself. Apart from the cheap price it's nice to know that they are some honest people in this world who don't recycle their food stock.

Al's sauce was the bonus that took it all over the top. I added the combo for a complete meal. The coleslaw had enough a unique tangy taste. The pickle and fries were ok. I will try the poutine fries next. Service was solid. I didn't know you pay at the register, but I was really satisfied with my meal that the extra time waiting to find out didn't matter. My sister and I decided to try it out 4&20 three Sunday's ago. It was Father's Day and my Dad loves croissants. We bought three almond croissants priced at $4.80 each - a little on the expensive side. My Dad, two sisters and I agreed that they were just too buttery and very rich (luckily I just had half!). Aside from croissants, they also sell brownies, 'morning buns' and a range of loaves. I could not believe the when I saw the price of the loaves - $12 each! I did read somewhere that 4&20 kneads every loaf by hand and they are then baked in their specially designed oven, which took six months to arrive here from France. They also use organic flour and free range ingredients in all their baking. I guess that explains the expensive prices. Maybe one day I will try a loaf, but in the meantime I'll keep buying my bread and pastries from the La Cigale Market at half the price...

It all happened one cold morning, after one of those silly 8am classes that nobody likes. That particular morning I had been running late, so I hadn't had breakfast. A friend of mine suggested that we go to Piko to try out their bitchin' pancakes. I was keen to try out these pancakes and when I ordered them I was not disappointed. For something that cost $6 there sure was a lot of goodness and elements. The second time I went to Piko, they had stopped selling the pancakes. I don't know why because man those things were amazing!! So I settled for bagel, avocado, cream cheese and bacon. This at the time cost $6, the price has gone up to $7 but still even at that price it is a steal. I mean where else in Auckland can you buy breakfast for $6 that isn't a shitty muffin and watered down coffee? That's right nowhere. The bagel is toasted fresh, the cream cheese is plenty, the bacon is crispy and the avocado is delicious. For $7 is is more than worth every cent.

I'm kind of new to Dominos (I'm late to the game on most things... I literally just now started…read morewatching Lost) but I do get Dominos at work every weekend, so I have some base line knowledge now of how Dominos should taste, and what to expect. I live in Mt Eden close to this Dominos, and one Friday when my bf and I were extra lazy, we ordered up some pizza and walked to get it. We don't live that far away, so I was surprised when we walked in and our order was ready. 1 point for Dominos!! (& there were even a lot of ppl waiting - I felt like such a boss just walking in & picking up my pizzas while everyone else was waiting). My order was done correctly which was exciting since it's a bit weird (I always order a veg pizza without cheese, then go home to add my own vegan cheese #nerd). The only thing that was weird was that THIS Dominos didn't add oregano to the pizza & the one we get near my work usually does. I appreciate the small things and I love oregano but I still survived, thrived, and downed that whole pizza. I'm now a Dominos fan because it's so easy, cheap and convenient. Plus semi vegan friendly! I'd love if they had vegan cheese on the menu, I hear it's a possibility in the future...

Shout out to the person who served me! Awesome dude and use to go to AUT too so thank you for introducing your fellow AUT-ers to this awesome sandwhich ! I have to say the taste is different to how I remember it, the bread is toasted so I suggest maybe the bread being untoasted to get that taste of bread I ordered the combo so lemon grass chicken Banh mi and a viet coffee to go down with it. The flavor of the chicken is there, but I feel a lack to the vegetables, but overall an awesome sandwhich none the less ! If you're a student and need a snack between class I suggest picking one up in the morning (untoasted) and keep it in your bag for lunch :D so you don't have to que up ! Overall 4.5/5 !

The Southern BBQ trend continues…read more.. I'm a fan of this new venue from the boys at Brothers. The vibe is the same but It's much larger than their City Works Depot venue and is kitted out with a full brewery and an authentic Texas BBQ. They've also got a killer outdoor courtyard with festoon lights - it's reminds me heeeeaps of Rainey St in Austin (google it). As for the food, it's pretty on point. It sounds like they did a couple of research trips to the States and it totally shows. Basically you choose you meat(s), add the trimmings (collard greens, burnt end beans, mac 'n cheese, tater tots, pickles, slaw and maybe a couple of others...) and sauces (there's too many to name). It's served canteen style out of bain maries - so pretty casual. All of the meat was pretty good but the standout for me was the pastrami, which was coated in a dry spice rub and deliciously tender. The pickles were also a highlight. They do all their own pickling and they're the perfect mix of sour/salty/sweet. When we went they didn't yet have their liquor license so it was soft drinks all round. I'm looking forward to a return visit complete with a crafty brew.
