I mean as did everything, including the guy behind the counter, but really I wanted to buy everything. At home I was so impressed I had to post a 5 star review. Their bread tastes wonderful and is so flavourful. I already have a warm summer's day plan in mind revolving around buying a picnic worth of food from Flint Owl Bakery and sprawling over the race course. Perfect.

Flint Owl Bakery is based in Glynde in East Sussex. Here, they produce all their bread by hand, using little or no yeast, no preservatives or additives of any kind, and using very traditional processes. They specialise in sourdoughs but also do bloomers, wholemeal and granary loafs, and seasonal loafs depending on the time of year. As well as bread, they do a number of cakes and buns, and actually have a coffee shop on site although I didn't try it on this occasion. The bread truly is the best I have ever eaten. Bread can nowadays come with a bad reputation, but if you eat good quality bread like this without all the hidden extras, I don't see how it can possibly do you harm. The only downside is that it tastes so good it's impossible to stop at a slice or two! I would recommend the fig and walnut and the sea salt and rosemary. I plan to work my way through the other varieties asap. Go, buy, stock up your freezer, and never buy supermarket bread ever again!

It brings together some of the finer parts of a farmers market, while also being a cafe and a host of shops, all under one roof. I came here for a coffee and also bought a coffee cake (caffeine much...), both of which were particularly good. If you are from a larger town or city, then the Riverside won't really be that impressive, nor will it be impressive if you're a regular at the nearby Bill's.

The sewing shop looks excellent with a lot of 1950s and vintage-style dress fabrics and a huge range of buttons and fastenings. It even had replacement braces clips - helpful for the dapper man with 1930s sartorial aspirations. The framers sold a number of photographic prints as well - a little too dominated for my taste by those slightly tacky ones of deserted beach walkways and open doors, with faded out edges, but there was a great print of the Rat Pack and a couple of others that caught my interest. Framing costs around £25 plus the cost of a poster, or different prices for different things. The whole little conglomeration has a really pleasant, open feel and I'd definitely go back for another look.
