This is one of many branches of Forfars in the Brighton area. Food used to be of excellent quality…read more- but sadly they seem to have been overtaken by their rivals and whilst their rivals have progressed Forfars seems to be stuck in a bit of a timewarp. I really like the idea of supporting your local baker but it doesn't actually now sell anything that you can't get elsewhere for less. Still a nice place to pop in to grab a bite to eat if you are out and about. Sells quite predictable bakers items (eg : filled rolls, sausage rolls). Quality nothing to write home about.

You'll also find loafs of bread, soft drinks, and heated products, like chicken bakes. The service is generally friendly, and everything in-store is very cheap. They have a great supply of low cost sarnies and rolls as well and their warm goods like sausage rolls, steak slices and pizzas. As someone who spent many summers working in an ice cream shop, I like to think I know my stuff…read morewhen it comes to ice cream and so, I can tell you without hesitation that this ice cream is absolutely delicious!! The shop itself is adorable and cool at the same time. It's very slick and well put together, but not in an off-putting way. The staff greeted me with a smile and were quick to serve me. I for one know the pains of scooping ice cream all day long, but they didn't let on for a second ;) The ice cream just looks incredible in here. It's soft and whippy and colourful - the sorbets especially looking rather delightful. I opted for one scoop of salted caramel and one scoop of cookie, unaware of the massive scoop sizes in here! There was certainly plenty to get through and, though I was initially a little bit sad they didn't have any mint choc chip available, as soon as I took a scoop I forgot all my sadness. Literally all of it. My head just filled up with happy thoughts of summer, sun and good ice cream. The flavours were lovely! Not too sickly, not too sweet - just perfect. The little tub it came in was so pretty as well which, I realise, makes no difference to the ice cream, but it sure did look lovely as I walked around. One man even stopped me in the street to comment how hungry I was making him, holding up an orange in dismay and exclaiming 'this is all I've got for desert.' Must be some pretty fine looking ice-cream to stop people in their tracks, right? If you haven't tasted this yet, then get in there. The sun's out, it's summertime - there's absolutely nothing stopping you. If you're not that hungry, one scoop will be enough but, let's face it, you'll eat it all anyway, however much you go for!

Also - all the Victorian crockery and containers look so brilliant. Real fan.

They sell what they can until it's all gone which I've seen happen before when in the area. I got the Cro-tella which I think was the croissant + donut and the mini banoffee donut. Might give them another go to try a different flavour as their donuts do look irresistible.

It opened last week and I don't think they have a website at the moment so I wanted to share what I could about this place. Menu is basic but has the essential milk and fruit teas. They have a special discount going on due to their grand opening so definitely check them out. What is also unique is that their cups look recyclable and possibly reusable (material is more stronger than usual boba cups) so will see if this is true when I come back to ask!
