He gave us options on either drop ins, class passes or weekly pass and we decided to sign up for the whole week. The classes were fun & the other athletes were really welcoming. We never felt like outsiders and felt more comfortable than in any other gym we've dropped in at. We learned a lot in a week there and we both hit a PR on our power clean. We will miss working out at Makena and will definitely come back and visit them all sometimes soon again.

We did a semi-private lesson with Coach Shaun and wow - that was an amazing experience!…read more To start off, about a week before our session, Coach Brian texted us a welcoming and detailed message with all the information we needed for a successful lesson (meetup location, time, how and where to park, etc). On the morning of our lesson, we got to the spot early and Coach Shaun started our session right away. He was incredibly informative and detailed with his instruction, and before we knew it, we were headed out to the water. It was an absolutely perfect spot to learn: perfect weather, warm waters, great learning-sized waves, and good company! Coach Shaun was very patient and understanding. If and when he noticed something in our posture or stance that we needed to fix for a better experience, he was very informative and did a great job showing/telling us how to improve. Very clear with cueing and frequently encouraging us to remember key concepts of specific movements. I tried both locations and found that I preferred the Pa'ia locale for it's more intimate experience and constant fresh breeze. It was my first experience with the Lagree method and love it so much.
