if you're in boise looking for an audi mechanic then you're very lucky and i am jealous of you!! i've only met inacu about 3 weeks before he moved to boise and i really wish i had known him earlier, selfish me wish he would have stayed as i know it will be very hard for me to find a good mechanic that i can trust as much as i trust him, but i wish him the best of luck in boise! although he was busy with moving, he was still very responsive, took his time answering all my questions, recommending all the items the shoud've been done, all before we even met in person. he knows everything about these audis like the back of his head. i would not be surprised if he could replace timing belts while blind folded. one thing that really sets him apart from all the other machanics i have visited was the price, his price on working on my car was literally less than half of what i was quoted in the few audi tuner shops here in NJ. i actually paid him a bit extra as tips and i still felt like i have gotten a great discount!! plus he has this magic parts box that happened to have all the parts to fix the various odd little issues with my car. he was very efficient and sends TONS of pictures while he was working on my car, i was constantly updated and he even ordered good used parts off ebay for me instead of buying brand new parts like my old mechanic would have done and saved me money. the best thing is how friendly and passionate about audis(or cars in general) he is, you can tell he's not doing it because it's a job but because of the passion for cars. i truly felt like i made a great friend!! too bad boise is not within driving distance from NJ, i would not mind driving 3 hours just to have him work on my car because i know the quality of work i'd get in return. and i would highly recommend him to anyone who has an audi that needs a good trustworthy mechanic!! read more

I still find myself lucky to have met John. I had just bought a B5 Audi A4. It had been neglected and needed a lot of work, mainly a timing belt service and all the fluids changed. John answered all my questions with a 15 min call and some very thorough emails. He sourced all OE-quality parts online at cost and was incredibly thorough. He did a full inspection, sending pictures and updates along the way. I was very impressed. His labor costs are a third of the dealerships, but he cares so much more about the quality of his work. Next, I brought my wife's car and he treated it the same way. At one point, a part he installed failed after a few weeks, not by his fault, but he changed the part out for free. If I was dropping the car on a work day, he always offered to drop me and pick me up from work. He is genuinely a good person. Fast forward to now. I upgraded to a B6 A4. This time, it needed a new cylinder head. Again, John sourced a new head for much less than I could have. His work was impeccable as usual. Always getting pictures and updates throughout the process. I've been burned by mechanics before, so to find an honest mechanic and fellow car enthusiast was a such a relief. Now that I'm back in California, I'm finding out how hard it is to find someone of his caliber. You don't know how good you have it, Boise. read more

I recently bought a 2006 Audi A8. It had some known issues but I had no idea what I was getting into with owning an Audi! Iancu was referred to me by a co-worker who had a great experience working with Iancu on his BMW. Iancu is the man! I honestly cannot say that I've ever dealt with another mechanic as honest or who cares as much about his customers and their vehicles as he does. He has performed multiple repairs on my mk4 Jetta Wolfsburg and always did great work at the right price. What really sets Iancu apart is his level of customer service. He was always very thorough and willing to take the time to really explain what was going on with my car. I bought a VW Passat that ran like a finely tuned German top for such a great price I felt I'd gotten away with murder...until I was in a minor fender bender. From The scene I had it towed to a local mechanic who promised we'd be back on the road the following day. From the moment mechanic x touched my car so began a a myriad of problematic discoveries. It would crank but not start. Fuel pumps out...no power to new fuel pump....No power to ECM...new fuel pump leaks...vacuum issues...no signal from ignition to starter... my steal of a deal was quickly becoming a frustrating money pit. That is until I called John. He was on site to my car a day earlier than scheduled, spent less than 2 hours diagnosing, explaining, and repairing (I didn't even have to buy new parts) my Passats woes and now has it running with even more strength than before. Since I've moved out to California 8 years ago, it's been difficult to find a mechanic that truly appreciates your time and money. Although I'm no longer in Philadelphia, Iancu was able to help me diagnose my VW Passat over the phone, the same diagnosis the VW dealer would have charged me $180 here in California. Iancu is very thorough in his diagnostics and will give you options depending on your budget. He's very dependable, trustworthy and takes pride in his trade. I've been a customer of the Audi guy in Boise for approximately 4 years now. He is one of the best mechanics I've ever worked with in almost 50 years of my life. Not only is he honest and truthful about what does and doesn't need to be done, he gets it done right the first time and doesn't waste time. I've had him do easy jobs and complex jobs, I've had him do after market performance part and scheduled maintenance and I recommend him to every person I know that owns an Audi in the area. He does great work. Until he doesn't. He has worked on my car for the last 2-3 years. I tried for 3 months to get a simple oil and filter service. He kept telling me he would get me in. He had projects but was still taking in customer cars. I don't know what happened or what changed. I don't know if he got offended because of a conversation about control arms that we had. That seems to have something to do with it. I think the professional thing to do is just to tell a customer that he isn't willing to work on your car anymore. Instead of just dragging them along and saying week after week he will get me in. Again he does great work until he doesn't. I have since found a new guy to service my Audis. read more
