Unsafe and Negligent Work - Avoid This Company Dri-Rite was…read moreassigned by USAA to repair our home after a flood in June 2025. During their work, we pointed out visible microbial and bacterial growth in the master closet and adjoining walls. Instead of testing, containing, or removing the contaminated drywall, their team dismissed our concerns and enclosed the visible growth behind new drywall and paint -- despite being directly shown the contamination. Independent inspections later confirmed that Dri-Rite sealed toxic mold (Stachybotrys chartarum) and bacteria inside the wall, contaminating our home and forcing our family to evacuate for safety. Their supervisor even admitted they had no testing equipment on site and told us to hire our own environmental company. We later discovered one of Dri-Rite's contractor licenses was suspended at the time they worked in our home, which is now part of a formal complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and the Department of Insurance (Case #73008). Our experience with Dri-Rite has caused serious health issues, significant financial loss, and months of displacement. Homeowners should exercise extreme caution before allowing this company to perform any work involving water damage or potential microbial contamination.

For what should have been a multi-day dry out only, WF tore out carpeting throughout the entire house unnecessarily. They also brought in their "sister company," a certain packing out company that started to move the tenant family's belongings to some remote location. Fortunately, the family stopped in and made the movers move their belongings into the garage instead of off-site. I walked directly into their trap. The leak was on a Friday. Plumber repair happened Saturday. I had them stop in on Sunday, ahead of insurance. The real secret to their "success" is in their fine print in their work order. If you do what I did, and hastily sign with them, they will likely outrun what insurance will pay for, and you'll be on the hook for a big bill. I tried to fight, but they have mastered the process of placing a mechanic's lien on a property (11 since November 2022) and securing profits that way if the opportunity arises. Water Fighters is not the only company that uses mechanic's liens. I'm sure liens are necessary at times, but it appears to be a tool that can be utilized as part of a corrupt scheme when possible. Check the Maricopa County Recorders Office website and search for legal efforts by any company by Document Title. Water mitigation has the potential to be particularly pernicious because one wants to move quickly to minimize damage and prevent mold or mildew growth. That's part of the trap I jumped into. Don't let Cesar Lauro Ontiveros Perez, or anyone associated with Water Fighters, near your property. Don't call them and definitely don't sign with them. I imagine most of the reviews on their website, like other elements of their website, are not authentic and are designed to deceive. No water mitigation license is needed to "perform" water mitigation. All one needs is any contractors license. This is in AZ and many other states. Fancy thermal imaging cameras to detect moisture does not mean someone knows how to work within professional standards governing water damage mitigation and restoration, or work with an insurance adjuster. Finally, call a PUBLIC ADJUSTER. Public Adjusters work for you to manage the efforts between your insurance company and any contractors. Yes, they get a percentage of your claim for their efforts but it is worth it to avoid what I went through. I called one for the rebuild and it made for an amazing turnaround from the awful experience with WF. NAPIA is the national association for public adjusters. They know the insurance industry and will probably know your policy better than you do. Your first call can and should be to a public adjuster. You will do much better overall with your claims if you work with a Public Adjuster.

This is a long overdue review for ATH! They handled two major home projects for us in 2025 in a…read moremidcentury modern condo. This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism, flexibility and high standards. Thanks to the ATH Team!

We reached out to Go To Services as our 3rd call to get our bathroom remodeled (just a tiny, 6'x9'…read morebathroom), but they ended up being the lowest bidder, and seemingly the most honest. Our bathroom had some mold, but we suspected it was simply surface mold and not black mold; our first two contractors that came out just made the on-the-spot determination: that's black mold, we'll need to tear everything down to the studs, replace everything, etc. Go To was the first to say, "Let's take a look at this." Thankfully, everything tested out just fine. There were a couple hiccups along the way: there was a misunderstanding about the tile pricing, and there was a considerable issue with the people who came in to do the tile work causing damage to my front yard by walking through it, using it to set up equipment, etc., but in the end, that was remedied after I talked to the foreman. The final result was a very beautiful bathroom with extremely well-done tile, paint, and plumbing work. They were very good with communication throughout the process and took care of EVERY issue as soon as it was pointed out. I would definitely use them again.

I would NOT recommend anyone trusting this company to do a professional and/or correct job let alone stand by their word or contract. I thought this company was my savior in a terrible time fixing my home from a flood and wow was I wrong because not only did their first crew totally screw things up to where they had to bring in another crew to repair all those mistakes and do things over, a member of one of their crews stole a precious item from my daughters room then management didn't do anything about it, who steals from a little girl! Then now the next big rain since their so called repairs and my home flooded again. Two times my poor daughter has been removed from her room loosing valuables and having to sleep on the floor in our spare room until we could get her room repaired. The first time not the fault of this company but the second sure is. They did not repair my home properly allowing water to flood into my home yet again. Then when I contacted them to do the water mitigation and home repairs they are not honoring the 5 year warranty on my contract from the first nightmare repair. They are full of lies and excuses. Anything they can do to get out of having to cover the repairs. The only thing they did do is come out under the pretense they were going to fix everything per the tech and cause further damage to my home by cutting out drywall, base boards, insulation in an area of the room that we told them was NOT where the water entered which is exactly what the tech found and then they abandoned the job leaving the mess for us to clean up and repair stating they aren't responsible. How can they say they aren't responsible when they didn't even do their due diligence to find where the water intruded into my home instead they choose to blame the landscape company. So to do my due diligence I reached out to the landscape company and explained things and that company came out honorably and did a whole inspection and testing of all the landscape systems and drainage under that contracts warranty and everything was working exactly as it should be at no charge, so that is NOT the cause of the water intrusion into my home. So after expressing all my concerns to this company as to how I had been treated from the beginning, to the fact my daughter has an auto immune disease to outdoor allergens and her room not being securely sealed from outdoor allergens is dangerous for her, to them causing more damage/repair work in my daughters room and abandoning the job, to turning them into ROC, filing a BBB complaint they don't care. I now have to get a loan to get my home repaired out of pocket which is wrong on all levels and unfair. Dishonorable business practices. This is a breach of contract and a violation of consumer protection laws. This business is horrible to do this to anyone! Shame on them! Even 2 very large home builders here in the valley have now fired this company from doing any work for them because of their shady business practices. Yes I am upset as I have a right to be but this review is truly for the purpose to protect anyone out there from hiring this company, throwing away their money basically then going through a nightmare similar to mine!
