J & S Demolition And Hauling Services

We used J&S Demolition and Hauling Services to remove our swimming pool. We were not using it that…read moreoften, and it was just costing money and water. Not to mention it would have cost so much more to have it replastered, tile fixed, and a pool fence added which was our Option B. I would highly recommend them. They communicated well, provided a professional and affordable quote, and worked with the permits to do it the right way. The entire back yard was leveled, and they ensured the pool area was properly filled in and packed down.

J&S Demolition and Hauling is a wonderful company. Owners Veronica and Juan are a dream to work…read morewith: they are kind, professional, attentive to detail, and very quick to communicate. First, Juan came out and gave a verbal estimate, which was quickly followed up by a formal, itemized quote. Veronica adjusted the quote based on my budget and priorities, and the work was done the next day! Their crew pulled up to my house at 6:45 but waited until 7 to ring my doorbell (no idea why the other review said they started at 5am). We walked my property and I answered all questions and they immediately got to work! They removed tons and tons of concrete slabs and pavers and dirt (40 tons? 60? more? It was at least 2 trailers full and a large green dumpster filled to the brim!) from my front and back yards. They even used a backhoe! After everything was cleared away, they raked out the dirt to even it all out, and meticulously cleaned up any mess. I've never seen people work so hard, so fast, for so many hours (7am to 3pm). It's backbreaking labor and they would take turns swinging the sledgehammers when they needed to catch their breath -- there was zero downtime except a short lunch. Plus, they seemed to be actually enjoying themselves, as they were laughing and chatting the whole time without ever slowing down. It was pretty amazing to witness.

This review is only regarding a quote for work…read more We had made a general request on Yelp for a quote on grading we needed to be done in our yard. While this particular job didn't seem to be in the wheelhouse for this business, they responded to the request and I extended the benefit of the doubt to invite their bid. Eddie came to the door a bit earlier than agreed and I greeted him. As we began our discussion of the work, a couple younger guys came out of the sedan they'd arrived in and up to the door. I couldn't tell if this was his crew as all were casually dressed, none wore uniforms or hi-vis, and Eddie didn't introduce them. Eddie was nice enough, but due to what was posed as a language barrier he spoke in Spanish with one of the younger guys. This same person was completely unprofessional in dress and behavior: sweat pants, slides, sipping on a Sonic soda, leaning on my house, walking across my yard and leaning against the window sill while Eddie and I were talking. The other young guy seemed respectful enough, but followed this one across the yard and stood with him. Eddie seemed keen to get me a quick quote within the first 10 minutes of meeting him, eager to commit to starting the work quickly without measuring or much discussion. The quote seemed a bargain, but the other behavior made it feel potentially questionable, so I clearly stated we were collecting bids for the work and I needed to discuss this with my husband before committing to anything. While we needed more than the front yard graded I chose not to invite them any further onto my property as I felt very uncomfortable. This was the 4th bid we had received on the work needed and was by far the least professional. We do not plan to use their services for the work we need done.

It did take a few days longer than we expected, but at the cost that we saved it was well worth the extra few days. He completed all services as discussed and we're very happy with the result. He took out plants, rocks, concrete columns and two pergolas.

We are so lucky to have found Salisbury Excavation. When it came to the home project I had in mind,…read moreI wasn't sure what kind of company I needed to hire, or where to even begin. I came to yelp and typed a general forum of what I was looking for and luckily, that forum was sent to Salisbury Excavation. Chris got back to me right away and offered to come give me an estimate on the job that day! He came and took measurements of the our current project and even took extra measurements of another project we hope to have done in the future just so we could get an idea for numbers. Chris was timely and very knowledgable on his line of work. I was very transparent with Chris on my lack of knowledge in this realm of things, and he was patient and descriptive on what to expect. I had the bid for my project that evening, and the next morning, we were setting up for him to come. They finished our project today, and let me just say, the whole process was amazing. Chris was super thorough, honest, and helpful with everything. As a woman in her 20s, I have found it's hard to find businesses that don't try to take advantage of you for your lack of experience or knowledge in their line of work, but Salisbury Excavation threw that belief out the window. Chris went above and beyond in helping us and we are excited to do business with him again and recommend him to everyone we know in need of his type of service. Thank you, Chris!!

A fair quote was given within minutes of reaching out. Communication was clear and prompt. The work was completed better than hoped and quicker than I thought possible. They worked their butts off and then insisted they leave the yard better than they found it. I don't think you're going to find anyone better.
