This is our second time staying at Volcano Teapot Cottage and I can't say enough great things about…read morethe cottage and Bill & Antoinette! The cottage has two bedrooms, though they only rent to one couple at a time, a livingroom, large bath, kitchen and a dining area. It is surrounded by a lush tropical rain forest completely private from neighbors. It is decorated with such style that the name "Teapot" is perfect. Bill & Antoinette have thought of everything, from toiletries, entertainment, comfort, information about the area, breakfast items, and all the supplies you could possibly need. If you can't find something here, you really don't need it. I really can't say enough about Bill and Antoinette and their beautiful cottage. Can't wait to visit again!

I don't usually write reviews but see that existing ones could use an update. Nothing has changed since the previous reviews as far as the beautifully manicured grounds on 2-1/2 acres, the lush greenery and quiet stillness of the neighborhood setting, gracious hospitality of hosts, Bill and Antoinette, the generously well-stocked kitchen, amazing choices for breakfasts, the details such as umbrellas, flashlights and binoculars for hiking and volcano viewing. The hot tub is not available - but we weren't expecting one, anyway. All the 5-star reviews here are the real deal and every one of them describes the kind of experience I had here (except for the hot tub). If you are traveling with a party of 2 or less, this is the place to stay at in Volcano!

We stayed here 12 months ago but I am absolutely horrendous at writing reviews in a timely manner…read more Anyways: this was the most romantic, comfortable and satisfying endeavor me and my partner have ever experienced. Want peace in nature? Come here. Want to experience Hawai'i? Come here. Sure, the bedroom is small yet it brought us closer together. The hot tub was amazing. The outside shower was serendipitous. The soft robes were welcoming and the hosts were incredible. We were welcomed with every accommodation we requested and then some. They responded promptly and respectfully to each question. My recommendation, if you want to find love in the heart of Hawaii, visit here. We visited for Christmas last year and fell more in love then ever before. We literally have talked about the Volcano Mist Cottage every few months since. No, don't expect a four course breakfast, expect a fully equipped kitchen to relax with your loved one. No, don't expect a staff waiting for you, let Pele welcome to Volcano, HI. Don't expect house keeping, expect a home that a lovely couple shares with you- take care of it as if it was your own home. Biggest negative about this beautiful retreat is that we had to leave. We can't wait go to back!

On the negative, breakfast was cereal, housekeeping was non existant even though it is stated as an amenity. The worst was the bedroom situation. Bed is full/queen, too small and we are not big people just tall. Bedroom is cramped and one of us ended up sleeping on futon on floor. Yet reviews on Hotels.com were all perfect. You decide!

You can tell they put so much effort into the little touches and details of the cabin. We stayed in the skylight house, and were greeted every day with fresh fruits and pastries, fresh flowers, and the most dreamy and beautiful setting we have ever seen. Wish we stayed here a little longer to enjoy the hot tub! Our host, Jenny, was very helpful and inviting. She gave us a tour of the grounds and provided some information about Volcano National Park. The sanctuary provides all the amenities you'll ever need: mini fridge, sink, bowls/plates, heater, utensils, TV, DVDs, books, plug ins, coffee maker, coffee grounds/tea, juice, milk, creamer, cream cheese and spreads for the baked goods, soap, dish wash scrub, etc. You name it, they have it. The bed was so comfortable, clean, and relaxing. I enjoyed the outside shower and hot tube! Enjoyed the nature all around us. The only downside was the WiFi connection. We were only able to get 1 bar inside the cottage. Our host was able to reset it in which worked great for awhile but returned to the same bar later that night. If we ever come back to Hawai'i, I would love to stay again!
