My Yelp team and I had a really wonderful brunch here back in April after a big event. We were the only people dining here on a Thursday around 11am. They had their garage door up and it was just the perfect day, the weather was amazing and out server was so sweet! We ordered different coffees and apps and brunch entrees. Came here for Mother's Day brunch and had mixed feelings. The ambiance is really nice, and the live music created a great atmosphere for the occasion. Unfortunately, the service timing was pretty rough. After getting seated, the waiting game started. Food and drinks came out in waves instead of together. First, my youngest daughter got her salmon board, which she enjoyed. About 30 minutes later, my oldest daughter received her breakfast sandwich, which was good as well. My steak and eggs arrived after about an hour. The flavor was good, but the portion was surprisingly small, maybe about 1/3 of a ribeye. For $31, I expected a much more substantial portion. The worst part was my wife's meal. Her beans and rice arrived about an hour and 15 minutes into the meal, which made for a pretty disappointing Mother's Day experience. Throughout the brunch, we also had to repeatedly ask for silverware and napkins, and even the drinks came out inconsistently. My daughter's "mango juice" was less than half a glass. Overall, the food itself was decent, and the atmosphere was enjoyable, but the service and timing really hurt the experience. read more

This place was amazing! We were the only guests for quite a while- it was a early Thursday afternoon. Our 5 top table of foodies were so excited by the menu that we went a bit crazy on the menu. We ordered the olives, bacon wrapped dates, the spoon bread and mimosas, matcha, espressos. I had a grits bowls for my entree with all of the accoutrements. It was delicious and so much food. Just divine, from the service to the poached pear salad to the art-filled environs to the home fries. I liked the Artisan's Palate with just one visit but liked it even more after my second visit just 4 days later. I first came here for Sunday brunch with friends. It's lively in here on a Sunday afternoon and reservations are accepted. I had the poached pear salad, which is vegan as is. It's mixed greens and arugula with pears poached in wine and spices (delicious), some nuts and dried fruit. My friend ordered pommes frites for the table, but with one bite of my friend's home fries, I was devoted. The pommes frites were really not that remarkable TBH, in comparison. Then on Thursday, I returned with my colleagues and had another wonderful experience. It's significantly quieter on a weekday morning and I was able to enjoy the atmosphere even more, especially because the weather afforded us the ability to sit by the open patio and we basically had the place to ourselves. I had a repeat of what I ordered on Sunday. The space is so beautiful and filled with street art (love the nod to tagging throughout) and fine art that rotates (in the back room). I was a bit surprised at the lack of vegan options because I'd expect a cool place like this to offer more than just a salad and tapenade and a few sides. A heartier vegan option or two would be much appreciated! That said, I'm a fan and will gladly return for that poached pear salad. Perhaps next time I'll try a cocktail or two (if you're a mimosa fan, they offer a variety of juices FYI). read more

It jives with things I support as well. *locally sourced menu *monthly featured local artists *100% woman-owned and operated Service was good- my only wish was that we were told from the git go what wasn't available. There were several moments of "I want this" to have her come back and say "Sorry - it's not available today - can you pick something else?" After altering our original selection, we started with the Warm Marinated Olives & Bacon - Wrapped Dates. Both were delish and set the stage for a great brunch ahead. Then, for the main, again after receiving the news, the dish the waitress recommended to me wasn't available, so I opted for the Shrimp & Grits & Artisan's Burrata Salad. The salad was the standout of the two. I tend to like my roux a bit darker on my S&Gs, but it was still good. So overall, it was good, and I'd come back. Although this restaurant has been on my list to visit for awhile, today is the first time I made it there. Beautifully decorated inside and out with outside seating, it felt warm and welcoming from the moment I entered. We had a large group so we were seated at the community table. Service was amazing and the food delicious. I had the lavender mimosa and the egg board which came with bacon, scrambled eggs, sour dough toast and potatoes. We shared a croissant and biscuit board that came with an assortment of jellies and jams. I will definitely come back to see how their dinner service is. Ended up here by chance after missing the cutoff of yoga next door. Decided to get a bite to eat before the next scheduled class. This place is such a gem! They display and sell local art, there's also a cute secret garden in the back with seating. This is a tapas style place so shared shrimp and grits, fries, bacon wrapped dates and the Brussels sprouts. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly, grits were creamy. Crispy French fries topped with flaky sea salt, it came with three dipping sauces, sriracha ketchup, garlic aioli and regular ketchup. The bacon wrapped dates were decadent and a nice crunch from the almond. Now the star were the Brussel sprouts, crispy on the outside, soft of the inside, savory red sauce over top with flaky sea salt. The service was excellent! read more

So...was our first time here and I must say it was very disappointing food wise. This place is run by women, had quick service and support art which is why I am giving 2 stars, otherwise If I had to rate based on food level I would have given 1 star. Here is my feedback 1. The portion size for the price seems extremely small. A $17 empanadas with a count of 4 empanadas doesn't make sense to me. 2. The tomato soup was tasteless. 3. Menu shows many vegan options but it was so hard to find a proper vegan meal. Appetizers like fries, Brussel sprouts were our options but we were there for dinner, so didn't choose that. Please add some vegan meals or mention you can make the items vegan atleast. 4. Such a cute place and decorations but it was burning inside, maybe use some AC? Okay, so another time was promised and another time delivered. I came here on a weekday night with my aunt for dinner, and we had a ball. The service was excellent, and it wasn't overly crowded. It was a lovely night, so the doors were open for a nice breeze. They have updated and streamlined their menu, which is now electronic and super easy to follow. We ordered a few glasses of wine and the fries Brussels sprouts to start. They were so delicious we couldn't stop eating them. The honey-harissa vinaigrette and the perfect fry on the sprouts made them out of this world. She got the rockin' sliders on brioche, and I had the Scallops, Pistachio & Micro-Green Orzo, and Apple Gastrique for our entrees. Both were absolutely delicious. The sliders were served in pillowy buns, and the short rib and brisket were perfectly cooked and juicy. The Scallops, Pistachio, Micro-Green Orzo, and Apple Gastrique easily became my favorite dish in Charlotte. They had absolutely amazing flavors and textures, and the scallops were seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was out of this world. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I will definitely be back soon to try more of the offerings. The moral of the story is that sometimes, you have to give it another whirl. We sat up at the bar for a drink before we went to the table. We came here to celebrate my birthday and they gifted everyone in my party champagne and then dessert, for me, which was very generous and an unexpected treat! You'll want to hop on their mailing list for upcoming happenings. I got the bacon wrapped dates for a starter, which I highly recommend. The croque madame was beautiful and delicious. I would say that the ham is more like city ham vs country ham, as stated on the menu, however it was still tasty! This is one of my favorite places for cocktails, small bites, and dinner too! I have to start with the decor. Imagine Hobby Lobby and Michael's had a clearance baby, then forgot to raise it. That about sums up the vibe. The food was no better a bizarre mixture of odd things that had no business being on the same plate, somehow bland and unappealing all at once. We actually gave up and went to Domino's and got pizza next door, which says everything you need to know. We were there to celebrate my husbands new job as this has been on my list for a while - it's in one of our favorite neighborhoods in Charlotte, NoDa bordering Plaza Midwood. We sat at one of the communal tables for cocktails before our reservation and chatted with some regulars on Fridays, they do flights and not just any flights...old fashion flights! Holy moly was that fun - we tried all 6! Next we went to our table where we both ordered the Frenchie Do cocktail which was delicious. Our server came over with the drinks and asked if she could give us a tour of the art gallery and the secret garden out - YES PLEASE!! It was all so lovely. Onto the food - olive tapenade board was utterly amazing and fun! - bacon wrapped dates were delicious!! - octopus was divine - lamb shank with homemade vindaloo sauce was the most amazing dish and the chef came out to explain it to us!
