Taylor Robinson Music & Voice Lessons

I live in a small town, so finding a music teacher who aligned with my goals and intentions was proving to be a challenge. I wasn't sure how I would feel about online music lessons, but honestly, I haven't felt like I have been missing out on anything, and in fact, I am only gaining more opportunities to further my experience because my teacher, Amanda Johnson, is really an ace. I have many goals in music and Amanda is 100% on board with supporting me in my creative process in all avenues. In fact, she goes so above and beyond in her support that I have way more than enough to work on between lessons. Finding Taylor Robinson has been a dream come true for me. Amanda is my third guitar instructor and I am beyond grateful that I found such a well matched teacher. TR as a company has also been great to work with in my limited time with working with them. The process has been seamless and I had lessons set up in very little time. Thank you for everything!

Taylor Robinson Music also helped me with trying to rebook a new instructor, but I just ended up waiting. I really enjoyed the lesson and I learned a lot of new techniques! It's really scary to start singing while I'm older, so I was very nervous but Josh made me comfortable. We started with some basics and had a good time learning what songs I'd like to sing. Josh and I both had trouble finding the same room through the app so we ended up using FaceTime on our phones. 5 stars for Josh Riley, 5 stars for TRM and 3 stars to the app! Overall, I can't wait to continue singing!

My bride and I attended the opening night of Young Frankenstein last night at the Longmont Theatre…read moreCompany and had a fantastic experience! If you haven't seen this play, you owe it to yourself to experience it. It's ribald, rollicking, hilarious and fun from beginning to end. Fairly early in the play is a scene with Elizabeth (Frederick's fiancee -- more on her later) and then the "hay ride" scene with Inga and we could tell from watching these three fine actors work together that we were in for some serious fun. I mean this as a serious assessment and not as a back-handed compliment: I did not expect this level of talent in a local production. They're terrific -- see this show in Longmont, with this cast, while you can. You'll thank me. This is a musical but you'll love it even if you don't like musicals -- the songs are funny and the actors were obviously having a great time. I don't know the names of any of the actors but they were consistently good. At the risk of leaving out anyone (sorry!), off the top of my head, I was particularly struck by the performances of the actors playing the parts of Frederick Frankenstein ("it's FRONK-in-steen!"), the monster, Frau Blucher ("He was my boyfwend!"), Inga, Igor and the village idiot. But the performance my wife and I marveled at the most was that of the actress who played Elizabeth, Frederick's fiancee. Her acting and vocal talents were amazing and her physical comedy was simply hysterical. She stayed perfectly in character right through the curtain call. The actor playing Frederick really has to carry the show and he did -- in fact, he gave up nothing to the late, great Gene Wilder, in my opinion -- it was a great performance. The audience gave a standing ovation when actor playing Frederick arrived onstage at the end and it was well-deserved. What an incredibly fun show. We were able to sit in the front row, which was a blast, but the theatre is an ancient movie house, so it's not that big and you can see from anywhere. The staff (nearly all volunteers) are polite and professional, and we enjoyed some popcorn and drinks. The theatre has a liquor license and a signature drink for each production; last night's was bourbon-based and my wife loved it (twice) while I sipped Diet Coke. This was our second visit to the Longmont Theatre Company and we can't wait for the next time. Well done to all involved -- great casting, great direction, nice costuming and set construction accompanied by talented musicians in a comfortable environment.
