Arcona has been around a very long time and has a well-deserved, excellent reputation. The estheticians are very knowledgeable and honest. They will suggest Arcona products - which are really fantastic, but I was given samples and told to try them - no big sales push. The place is very clean and modern, high end. I have been getting facials at arcona for 30 years - since the days when arcona herself was a vibrant presence at the studio. Unfortunately Arcona is now a business corporation and has lost touch with the human side of healing and skin care. I recently came in and they were offering a Black Friday sale of products. I purchased close to $300 worth of products but three days later got a phone call explaining they made a mistake and I would have to pay full price unless I added more products to my order. The sales rep explained that "corporate" was recalling all sales they had made errors on. As a customer for over 30 years I was disappointed they chose to pass their own errors off to their clients. I have sent many friends to arcona over the years. With so many others making great skin care I will be ending my loyalty to arcona. This studio, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown SM, is wonderful. I really like the intimacy of it and the fact that it does not feel like a factory at all. I have some health issues and I can't say enough about Antonia Perensky and her incredible massages. She is absolutely gifted and has a lovely spirit and energy. I'm so looking forward to my next session with her! Just had one of the most disappointing experiences with them. Order from Europe, payed 100$ for the delivery only to discover they shipped only one of the products I ordered.. UPDATE 17.09.13: Received a nice email from Arcona saying that they will deliver the product and other deluxe trials for my inconvenience.. Great contouring facial at Arcona with Brandi. Great salon, with soft music, and great service by the front desk staff. Really nice facial and neck massage and great products . I did not rate it a 5 is because I was not informed that I would be charged extra for the oxygen and enzyme treatment, and since I had never been there before I did not know what products were included in the contouring facial, so I was very surprised when my $95 facial turned out to be $143. Go here if you want your skin to look like silk. They offer wonderful service and the setting is beyond beautiful. Not to mention their products are top of the line. The Cranberry Gommage smells like heaven, and after I had my facial, I can still smell some type of cranberry goodness on my skin all day... My husband and I came in last week from Arizona, as long time fans of the line. I scheduled him for an eighty minute massage, while I got a facial and an eighty minute massage as well. My husband is the PICKIEST when it comes to his massages. When he came out of the massage room with Antonia, he had a grin on his face, and he looked so relaxed. The first thing he said was, "I've had a lot of massages, but that was the best one I've ever had." I have never heard him utter those words, EVER! When I went into see Antonia, she gets the spots that every other masseuse we have been to forgets about. She did deep tissue for me, and I felt so rejuvenated after. Then, I experienced a facial by Victoria. The facial was the part of the session i was looking most forward to, because I've been such a huge fan of arcona for several years now. Victoria assessed my skin, and told me what she thought would be the best for skin at the moment. It was so relaxing, and Victoria was so much fun to talk to! The products felt and smelt amazing too! I did break out just a little bit a few days after, but I think it's because all of my impurities were coming out, after such a thorough cleaning. It's been about a week, and my skin is clearing up now. Victoria was also nice enough to tell me about new products that were only available at the spa, so I purchased all sorts of new products. Of course, I can't forget to mention Claudia who I believe is the store manager. She was a delight to talk to. She went out of her way to make our visit special, and was very warm and inviting with us. We may live in Arizona, but we will be back again for sure! read more

I went to arcona today for the enzyme peel. The facial was very enjoyable and my face is now even and hydrated. I noticed an immediate difference without any pain ( which I've experienced from harsher peels at other spas). I had a Gilt voucher but the regular prices are reasonable. read more

This has been my go-to skincare spa for a few years now. I have struggled with adult acne for years and Arcona is the only thing that keeps it under control. The facials are a good mix of being relaxing and results oriented. The waiting area has refreshments and comfy seats to lounge on before or after your facial, and it smells great too. The customized facial/enzyme peel is my favorite and gives the best results in my opinion. The only criticism I can think of is that they can be pushy sometimes with purchasing products. Other than that, a great place to relax and pamper yourself! read more

I am a huge fan of Arcona. If you are looking to change up your skin care products, or looking for a great facial, or both, I highly recommend. I started using their products several years ago based on a friend's recommendation and I have been in love ever since. I never had horrible skin (luckily), but the issues I did have got so so so so much better after using Arcona products. Seriously major improvements. I just had a facial yesterday with Victoria (I think I am getting her name correctly), and it was 100% lovely wonderful magic. I tried to come here and buy a gift for a friend and was refused entry to the parking. I guess they don't get many men coming by because the woman on the intercom that you have to use to gain entry to the parking seemed to think I had the wrong number when I said I was coming to the Arcona. She asked if I had an appointment and I told her I was coming to buy a gift treatment as a present. She told me they didn't let people into the parking without an appointment and hung up on me. I couldn't quite hear everything she was saying and perhaps she couldn't hear me very well due to the traffic noise but this is where they chose to setup shop and if that's the way their intercom works (or doesn't work) I'd say that's a big problem too. So I was forced to back out of the parking ramp into traffic and leave. Now if I wasn't 5 blocks from the beach and the mall and the promenade I might have accepted this rudeness but it was simply impossible to find parking there on a weekend and to tell you the truth I don't wish to spend a couple hundred bucks as a present only to be treated poorly and subject my gift recipient to rudeness too. I guess I'll go with Burke Williams where they'll actually let me in the building. read more

i had been a client of the Arcona Studio for about six years, when Arcona herself was still alive. if Arcona was still alive, she would have been horrified of the treatment i received last friday morning. i arrived on time for my regular monthly facial appointment with Chanel. Chanel was 25 minutes late arriving to work. i had relaxed and sipped my coffee and read a magazine, till she was ready to take me back for my treatment. once inside the treatment room, she instantly became irritated, looking at the clock and remarking about how late she was in beginning my facial. she asked me what kind of facial i wanted and i replied "the usual, please, unless you have another suggestion." i started to take off my hat and suddenly Chanel raised her voice at me, and yelled, " i'm not going to be able to give you an hour treatment, i don't even have 45 minutes for you." I was stunned! i had been assured by Sheila at the reception desk, i would receive the regular hour treatment, even though Chanel was nearly 1/2 hour late to work, that they would adjust everyone in the day. which was alright with me. Chanel left the room, obviously irritated about her dilemma from being late...and without saying anything about what she wanted me to do, like prepare to have the facial? close the door so i could change?? nothing! She left me just standing there, not knowing what to do, like it was my fault she was late. i could have come back later in the day, we could have worked something out. Over the past nearly six years i'd spent thousands of dollars in the Arcona Studio and did nothing to deserve being treated so disrespectfully and rudely. i put my hat back on and walked back out to the reception area and asked what i should do?? (an understandable question) and told Sheila that Chanel was upset and had yelled that she didn't have time for my facial and walked out. Brandi and Sheila watched wide eyed as Chanel "lost her mind @ me". Chanel yelled and said she was going to call the police, she wanted me to leave! it was like something out of a mental hospital movie. i was in shock. i had arrived for my facial that morning, looking so forward to seeing Chanel and having her do my treatment. and instead she was "venomous" @ me for no reason. i was shaken up and didn't drive my car for about 45 minutes. Neither Sheila or Brandi took Chanel aside and said, "hey, get ahold of yourself." or what about figuring out something that would work for everyone... the only thing i said to Chanel at that point was "you need help!!" not to be mean or condescending. i won't go back to Arcona again. Shame on Chanel for treating me and anyone so badly who did nothing to provoke such contempt and hatred. She got close enough and acted like it was everything she could do not to hit me. it was rediculous. Shame on Arcona Studio for allowing such disrespectful and hateful attitudes toward a "fellow" woman who had been a devoted patron for more than half a decade. the entire incident was uncalled for. read more

Went back today for my third facial. I had some disappointments with the second facial and Bevin was wonderful about addressing the issues and making sure I had a great experience. My esthetician was Brandi and I was very happy with the facial today. I had been used to very extraction heavy facials in the past and Brandi was very thorough in explaining Arcona's practices/philosophy about trying not to distrupt the skin with aggressive extractions and it made sense. She told me that as long as I let her know in advance that I did feel like I wanted/needed some extractions, she would do her best to do so carefully. Overall, it was a really calming and relaxing facial. For the services provided, the prices are very reasonable in comparison to other spas in the area. Also, all of the ARCONA products that I have tried are great (brightening gommage, gentle solution, cranberry toner pads) so if you can't make it out to Santa Monica, I would definitely recommend the products. read more

My friend got a me a gift certificate for a facial and massage at the Arcona studio and it was absolutely AMAZING! I'm not much of a spa connoisseur, so I am always a little intimidated when trying a new place. The ambiance is very welcoming and intimate.All of the ladies I interacted with were very knowledgeable and provided wonderful customer service. I was put in Kristina's hands for an enzyme peel, and couldn't have been more pleased. I didn't realize it was possible to be THAT relaxed during a facial! Because of her expertise and effective products, my skin has never looked better! My massage was done by Antonia and was the most satisfying experience next to discovering delicious gluten-free bread. She was very attentive to insuring that every muscle was relaxed, leaving me completely rejuvenated. The staff went above and beyond in every aspect and has definitely raised the bar high for customer service. I truly have never felt so spoiled by the dedication and compassion the Arcona girls exude. I had such an amazing experience at Arcona with Kristina! My experience there always starts out with Kristina greeting me in the tranquil waiting room and offering my choice of delicious spa waters and snacks. Then she takes me back into the treatment room where the real magic happens! When I started seeing her before my wedding, I had some skin discoloration and unevenness and acne around my jawline that really bothered me. After a series of sessions with Kristina, my skin was even in tone, the acne was gone and my skin was glowing! Everyone who was at my wedding kept commenting about how great my skin looked and I owe it all to this fabulous esthetician! She truly cares about her clients and her gentle, but effective techniques are just what my skin needed. Her product recommendations were right on target too!
