You know when you take a tour of someplace with the marketing director and the staff are "polite" to that person? Like this is the first time they ever spoke to them? Well my tour of Reeds Landing was genuinely nice - like the staff friends! My mom will benefit from a GP doctor having an office and staff on-site. So far, so good. I have consulted to this facility on a number of Resident issues for nearly 2 decades. I have always been impressed by the professionalism of staff, and the lack of Resident care issues I usually encounter relative to when I consult to skilled nursing facilities throughout the state; this is echoed from others I know who are employed by the state. From staff, I get a clear and specific reason for the referral, and upon entry to any unit, the nurses are so helpful, retrieving the chart, medication record, and are ready to answer any questions. The same is true for Rehab., Activities, and therapeutic staff. As to the Residents, they seem well taken care of, and are typically able to reveal what their life is like there, they know key staff, activities programs, and are often complimentary. Complaints are usually related to their circumstances rather than to the facility or staff, which is common to this neurobehavioral population who suffer multiple co-morbidities.

They way I learned is that "Betsy" a Wellington manager went into the apartment and dug through piles of junk and papers to find the important legal documents. And that was just the beginning of her efforts which included moving, cleaning and contacting people. Who does that, based on loyalty and a dedication to the care-taking profession. I am so appreciative of the efforts of the Wellington team AFTER their tenant was gone. I know that nobody picks a retirement home based on what happens after death, but they should because that period is very stressful and time critical. As a surviving party, the support of Betsy and her staff was priceless and deserves my highest praise.

You could tell they truly loved her, cared for her and were genuinely heart broken over the same loss we were suffering. Every time I visited they were kind and friendly and went way out of their way to do things that weren't even within their job responsibilities. I ran into Debbie personally a few times and she made a point to love my Grammy hard even when she was extremely rude. I can't say enough good things about how everything was handled from day one right through to her last day. We are all so grateful.

My grandpa was the talk of the town, wooing all the little old nuns who live here. That's right - it's where nuns go to retire. The nuns of the Sisters of Providence are the sweetest, kindest ladies in the world. When my grandpa finally died, they took such good care of my grandma, and still do though she moved out. They pray for our family and take my grandma out shopping when she needs help. I can't thank them enough. The little apartments are bigger than places I've rented for more money, and everyone has it looking just like you can imagine their old houses used to look, or clean and plain like nuns usually do. The building is beautiful, with a nice little chapel and a wonderful dining area. The only thing is when you come to visit lunch is not cheap, but it's worth it.

The staff is very attentive and provide a variety of activities daily. There is an onsite library, gym, outdoor pool, and several communal areas. For those who do not drive, the van goes to the bank, public library and a variety of stores weekly. With their monthly rent, Residents have the option of one or two daily meals in the dining room plus a continental breakfast. The dining room is run like a restaurant with a standard menu of salads and sandwiches with dinner specials daily. My family appreciates the services provided at this facility.

My mom loves birds and gardening and they have allowed her to be involved with both of these things. While everyone is wonderful the dining room servers are who really stand out. They are younger adults and deal with a very challenging population yet they are always so professional. Sometimes we get frustrated with a parent who is complaining about their food due to their Dementia or Alzheimer's conditions but the servers seem to take it all in stride. I feel that they have been trained so well. I wish I could give a hug to each one of them because sometimes they don't have an easy job. I highly recommend this place! May I add that the server named Kyle is the best. He engages with each resident, calls them by their given name, jokes with them and shows true compassion. He's wonderful to watch!
