From the moment we started, she was cheering us on, keeping the energy high, and encouraging us every step of the way. The two-hour hunt flew by. While we didn't manage to complete the entire list, we made up for it with a few fun bonus missions that boosted our final score. One of the most memorable moments? Walking into a dive bar on a mission to find a San Marcos native. The second we stepped in, the music didn't stop but it may as well have. Heads turned. It felt like we were aliens who accidentally landed in the middle of someone's regular Saturday scene. But, mission accomplished! We found a guy who looked like a leather-clad biker from a movie turns out, he was born and raised in San Marcos and couldn't have been more welcoming. The hunt turned into more than just a game. We discovered hidden corners of the city, chatted with locals, and learned that San Marcos is not just a great college town it's somewhere we would've loved to have spent our college years. What really stood out was the variety of activities throughout the hunt each one pushed us just a little out of our comfort zone and made us laugh, connect, and enjoy being in the moment together. You only walk 2-3 blocks one way and there's plenty of places with shade and tables to rest in between, so it is very doable for anyone of any fitness level and the puzzles are accessible to all. Plus, Mission Control is responsive for when you're stuck and meets you in person throughout the experience! Very fun! We were greeted by our tour guide, who gave us everything that we needed to make sure that we had an incredible afternoon. And we did. I could not recommend this more if you've got five or more people coming in I wanted to go out and have some fun in Austin. You'll make lots of memories have lots of laughs and see lots of things you may not have seen before. So don't be afraid that people are gonna be bored, because they won't. Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek is amazing!…read more I have a little one that is absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs and my social media algorithm has been sending me videos of this place for years, so I was very excited to finally check it out. They are located in Cedar Creek which is south east of Austin (about 20-30min drive from downtown Austin). When you arrive you get your tickets and give you a quick explanation of the trail. The trail with all the dinosaurs was amazing! They probably had about 30 something dinosaurs, mammals and reptiles around the trail. We did the walk in around 45min but we definitely did it at a higher pace since my kid was very excited and kept running from one dino to the next. I like that they had a small description for each one with some fun facts. They also had a couple smaller dinosaurs hidden around the trail and they also had smaller ones that you could take pictures with. At the end of the trail they also have a playground and an area where you can "excavate" for fossils. You can also rent a private area near the playground for birthday parties which I thought was really awesome. The store is huge and has a crazy selection of dinosaurs toys (probably the best I've ever seen). Overall, an amazing experience and I will definitely be back during my next trip to Austin!

It would definitely help to have more lighting in the room, too. That said, there were some interesting puzzles that tickled my brain and required good ol' teamwork with the husband. We have come to know the owners as we go so often, thus when you visit The Mighty Thomas Carnival you are supporting a local business. The rides are fun and small enough that my 4 year old still has multiple ride options. I know that people sometimes are discouraged by the cost of going to a carnival. When you look around and see the cost of operating such a business, the cost of admission is totally appropriate. My kids love it the most and I do have this amazing nostalgic feeling walking around the midway, especially at night. It is such an enjoyable experience! Highly recommend this carnival, especially for families!
