And then he helped me select a new model over the phone while I was at the store. While he didn't get my business this time, he'll be the first person I call next time! When I opened my fridge this morning to fix breakfast, I was greeted by soggy, warm, and melted food. Being a new homeowner, this was my very first time having to deal with a broken appliance on my own. I called around to 4 different appliance repairs companies before finding Michael at The Appliance Team, and he was the only one who was able to come by on the same day without charging for an emergency visit. He showed up only a half an hour into the 2 hour window that he gave me, with a 20 minute heads-up call to make sure I was home. Super courteous and friendly, extremely professional. He was able to quickly diagnose my fridge, which had sadly reached the end of its life. But Michael was able to give helpful advice on what to look for in a replacement fridge, including brands to avoid, styles that are most energy efficient, and even local stores that he likes. He also gave me some helpful tips on how to best take care of my dishwasher and washing machine. Seriously a great experience within an overall stressful day. I could not be happier with this service! While visiting my brother in Charleston, I called The Appliance Team to get a stove installed. Michael answered the phone on the first call, and was great with communication. He was able to handle our gas range installation the next day, and texted when he was on the way. He was personable and did not rush the job, making sure everything was in working order and even gave us tips on maintaining the range top. When it comes to hiring a repair company, finding the right one can be very hard and stressful. I had narrowed down my choices to three local companies to fix my dishwasher. The first company I called/researched turned out to have lied about being BBB certified, and to this day, still has the BBB seal on their website. The second company wanted an arm & leg just to show up at my door. Which brought me to The Appliance Team. I wrote an email explaining to them my issue and asked a few questions. Mike, who I assume is the owner, called me back within 30 minutes of my email and we set up an appointment for a few days later. He could not have been more professional or courteous if he tried. He knew exactly what the problem was, fixed it, charged me a more than reasonable price and was out the door in less than 20 minutes. Appliance repair companies are a lot like lawyers, you hope you never need them but it's great to have one you can trust, and The Appliance Team is certainly trustworthy. I was all set for my Christmas party in two days... Until my dishwasher started leaking onto my floors. Not only was Michael able to come out on the same day at the END of the work day, but his service fee was $20 less than the other places I called. He was professional, courteous, and walked me through each step as he did it. I was concerned about the appliance's overall installation and he went as far as to show me things I could try fixing on my own should I have issues in the future. Not only is my dishwasher not leaking, it's running better than ever now. He didn't miss a thing - correctly guessing that I'd tried to wash some wine glasses from microscopic shards in the washer's arm, that my disposal had been draining poorly due to the angle of a hose behind the washer and that my faucet arm wasn't extending as well as it could - all fixed and clean at no additional fee. In October of 2014 I was referred by Michael by one of the appliance parts stores in town. I could not be happier with Michael's work. He was prompt, very professional, personable and so knowledgeable. He fixed my washer in record time after another large company in Charleston failed to fix the problem. We noticed water running from under the freezer side of our refrigerator on the Saturday before Easter. We at first assumed the door just hadn't been closed tightly. By the time we realized the freezer was not longer working, it was almost 3:00. After a quick review of possible repair services (mostly closed) I chose the Appliance Team, which was closing at 3:00, and called and left a message. Michael promptly returned my call and I explained the situation to him. He offered to do an emergency call on Easter Sunday, but I decided to wait until Monday as I had access to the neighbor's freezer. Michael also correctly predicted that my refrigerator side would fail, too! Monday came and Michael called to update me that he would be calling in the range of the appointment time. When he started pulling the refrigerator apart, he explained what he was doing and what he expected to find. He kept me in the loop, explained the options of repairs vs replacement. I decided on replacement and he gave me several excellent criteria to use when selecting a new model. I am so glad I chose the Appliance Team. I was told A technician would come to my house before 5pm which did not happen nor did I receive a call. I called to again ask for a service call and was again told it would happen if I could "be flexible". But again no show no call. Not good business. read more

Had used this company in the past and been very impressed and referred many people to them. Unfortunately, success sometimes causes people to lose their efforts toward customer service. The only reason I give them one star is because they called me back. I am out of town and could not meet them to pay cash on the spot. I was willing to send a check immediately from my bank, offer paypal, or use a credit card. They need to figure out a way to do business in the 21st century. read more
