    Ponies!
    Laura R.

Excellent place to pick apples near Toronto. There is a small entry fee per person, which covers the amenities, such as tractor ride, corn maze, sunflowers, ponies, walking trails, etc. Not only were we able to pick a wide variety of apples, we picked pears too! Lots of photo opportunities and a great place for young and old alike. Really friendly service as well, and lots of treats to purchase (e.g. honey, garlic, syrup, etc.) on your way out. We will be back!

Brantwood Farms - Wagon load of pumpkins! Go through an obstacle course with your wagon. Best deal ever! We got about 15 pumpkins for the $60 deal.

I heard that they…read morehave 7 different varieties of strawberries from someone in my group, and I got to sample 2. One of them is the usual strawberry that you would see in supermarkets - big, red, and super juicy. Make sure you go for the ones with red tips and not white! That would ensure that the strawberry is more sweet rather than tart. The bigger variety could be found by the patches with the yellow flags, which on this day were supposedly the "faster picking ones", probably because they were so big that they quickly fill the 1-liter buckets. The other variety that I got to sample were very small - about 1-2cm large - very red, and very sweet. Those were my favorite. They are closer to the entrance with the orange flags. As for pricing, you can bring your own containers - make sure you know the volume! - or buy them for a very affordable price there. The strawberries are sold for $3/liter, and they offer 1L plastic baskets, 3L paper baskets, and a bigger crate. On the way out, don't forget to stop by the small shop! They have fresh veggies and other fruits in there, as well as preserves, salsa, and even baked goods. I bought 6 pecan butter tarts for the road, and they barely made it home, they were soooooo good and gooey!

I was disappointed for the following reasons: - the woman…read morebehind the counter was not particularly friendly - we weren't allowed to see or choose the apples we wanted from the store. We had to select the varieties sight unseen. Then the staff member bagged them for us. Even at Food Basics or Loblaws, I get to choose my own apples. - we couldn't browse the jams, ciders, honey and other products available. Everything is inside the store but us! We weren't allowed in. I realize there's a pandemic on but other farms and markets allow you to see what you are buying up close. - the prices aren't great - there were no goats. We were told this is the first year that's the case; no explanation was given. They had a few chickens. When we asked where they were the staff member pointed in a vague direction. Please reread my first comment about the lack of friendliness! Positives: - the apples were fresh and tasted good - there's adequate parking.

Even when COVID was raging he found a way to make his orchard work. Unfortunately this farm is now closed and our family misses it -- a lot!! They had the best apples anywhere, they had wonderful staff, their 'mums they brought in from a local farmer were fabulous. No you don't chose the apples. You get what is in the bushel, 1/2 bushel. If you want to chose go to a grocery store. The farm is closed for the season. Good health to Barb and Bob. What a joy it was to visit every fall on a must say - a lot of occasions!! We miss you.
