They had rescheduled me. Somehow it took them 5 months to receive my referral from my doctor. Every person I encountered over the phone, in person had spoken quietly and broken English which made it very hard to understand, especially the 2 nurses that were wearing masks. Upon entering for my appointment there was a lady getting upset with reception, he did not seem phased nor seemed to care about how she felt. Meanwhile for my appointment she asked if I had filled out my intake and I said yes, the first time I was supposed to come in a month ago. When talking to reception she would not make eye contact with me, I didn't feel acknowledged, same way I felt when I paid. I then had 2 different nurses who didn't seem to communicate to one another. 10 minutes after pricking me, she comes in and says she forgot a whole panel to test for (which was the whole reason I came in). When asking the nurse questions she brought the doctor in, and he didn't answer my questions with certainty, instead I got a piece of paper that described my allergy... which didn't make sense. LONG STORY SHORT. Prior to coming here what I had an allergic reaction to, their allergy test said I was negative, and things I'm perfectly fine eating--it says I'm allergic to. This organization did not follow up with me after I had done the weekly allergy shots. They were to send a monthly shot. After I left several messages on their voicemail I basically just gave up. They never did get back to me. I live in Yellowknife so I had to fly to Edmonton to do the tests. They then sent the weekly serum to Yellowknife. I called several times in July and August trying to get them to send me the monthly serum. They did not. read more

Do NOT go here! It is definitely as sketchy as it seems when you first walk in. The nurses are nice but do not follow through. I was suppose to a requisition for blood work and a prescription for medication. I had to keep calling (no answers), leave voicemails and texts to finally get my requisition 5 minutes before my blood work appointmen. I went to pickup my prescription from my pharmacy and was told the clinic never faxed the prescription like they told me they would. The 'doctor' is virtual...not sure how you diagnose over a screen... Wait and go elsewhere if you can. Paying them for their service was a waste of money!! read more

The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a healthcare facility. The front desk staff are very unprofessional and dressed in jeans and t-shirts. The nurses are not nurses; don't be fooled. Their knowledge is very limited. The exam room was filthy: thick dust, USED SHARPS on the counter and mousetraps on the floor. I was told that I'm allergic to foods that I eat daily and when I questioned them on my results, the "nurse" retracted and gave no explanation. The doctor consult is via video conference. LOVE this Allergy Clinic! I've been coming for 3 years to see Dr. Osundwa. The location is where the old EPS recruitment office is just off Jasper. You do have to pay for parking so that's the only downer. The office is bright and clean. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for an appointment and staff are prompt in returning telephone calls. They accept cash, debit, Visa, and Mastercard as payment form. If you do end up doing the 5 year allergy injection program, expect to do retesting every year and to pay about $40 for your tray fee (for the 60 pokes) as well as ordering your allergy injection serums which some insurance companies will reimburse. They do also offer the regular injections here but I get them done at my Doctor's officer where I don't have to pay for parking. read more

I find Dr Osundwa, attentive and helpful. However, his receptionists and nurse Justine are amazingly polite, responsive, helpful and compassionate. In my 50+ years with doctors offices, have never experienced this kind of service. Tells me a lot about hiring practices and Dr's treatment/selection of staff. Such a horrible experience and didn't even go at the clinic!!! Thank God i didn't!!! Everything started very nice on the phone and then 3 hours prior the appointment i had an emergency and called to reschedule for another day when i am told if I reschedule i will have to pay 60 dollars for not coming to my first appointment!!!! Dr. Osundwa is professional and to the point. The receptionist is very nice and polite. However, my serum had expired and they got my order wrong. Through phone tag and what not, they should have picked up the order and fix it. Well I didn't hear back from them for a month. Oh did I mention I had to pay another $30 to dilute the wrong vial? ?. Words of advice, make sure you speak crystal clear in what you want and repeat yourself about 10 times to the nurses or they will get your order wrong. read more

Went in for testing due to excessive sneezing with no known exact trigger, as recommended by my doctor. Three days without antihistamines as per their request, and I was already not in the best of moods. I go in, pay $40 for their skin test thing for 'common' allergies, most of which I already knew about from a recent blood test at a local medical lab (which I have never had issues with) and am in tears from the pain of the skin reactions by the time the doctor gets back to me (I'd had a nasty course of scabies a year ago and my skin is still sensitive to pain, even a simple blood withdrawal hurts like hell). Couldn't even have my husband there for comfort because of the whole parking issue. Got the whole condescending behavior about environmental issues etc etc. Wanted to give me a spray and got a little crabby when I flatly refused due to nosebleeds from prior sprays and the sneezing. I asked for a prescription for a known antihistamine that my doctor had prescribed once and I knew worked. He said it would make me sleepy. I said I take it at night and yes, it makes me sleepy, but at least I would get a decent night's sleep! I came within inches of walking out and telling the doctor to go screw himself with a scalpel! Here's the thing; I started sneezing within two seconds of walking into their patient room. The trigger? Their air conditioner thing had kicked on, kicking up dust, and there were clearly no filters on the damn thing! As a housekeeper for a local hospital, having worked in patient isolation rooms, I expected far better from an allergy clinic! I strongly suspected that if I reached up and swiped the top of the door frame, (and yes, those do get wiped down at hospitals, and they are inspected regularly!) I would get half an inch of dust. The top of their cabinet? I didn't even want to think about it! As an allergy clinic I would expect this place to be sterile and respectful of clients with asthmatic and allergy issues. This place is an absolute joke, and I am still no closer to figuring out why I sneeze so much when I'm not around one of my so-called triggers! It was a complete waste of my time, my money, and my patience. Do yourself a favor; get the testing done through proper blood work at a proper medical lab. At least those places are clean! read more

They have a policy that they will charge you for missed appointments, BUT how are you suppose to cancel or change an appointment if they don't answer the phone or return phone calls? read more

So I had my allergy test and you can tell right away how disorganized they are. They made me fill up.a form, but it was really useless bec the dr then the nurse asked the same questions as they didnt bother reading the questionnaire. As they ask me, they didnt have my questionnaire with them to verify my responses. Then this nurse Cory was very abrupt and rude, non smiling, almost mean looking. She became defensive when I asked if she had hit the same spot twice on my arm. She was going thru it so fast that she miscounted the line and just has bad bedside manners. Then when she left me in the room, she slammed the door. Dr. Osundwe was soft spoken and seems nice but it does feel that this is just a gimmick to sell medicines, does not feel like a doctor's office. This clinic is a joke. Never saw the Dr for a consult as to why I was there. Kept telling his assistants what my concern was. Paid $70.00 to be tested on things I knew I had no issue with. The assistants did all the work and the Dr came in a pointed to items I may be allergic to..(?) When the Dr finally came into the room after my testing I tried to ask about a certain cosmetic ingredient I was concerned about but the Dr had never heard of it and said he tested me for "common" ingredients. I have to start by saying that the only reasons I did not give this clinic only one star is because the receptionist is a wonderful woman, and although not too bright, was very friendly and efficient at her normal day-to-day tasks. The nurse who performed the scratch test was also lovely and very helpful. Now on to my primary concerns... #1 - Dr. Osunduwa is a very arrogant and condescending man. If you are the type of person who expects their doctor to listen to your concerns and needs, look elsewhere. I suppose I should give him some credit as he is extremely well educated, but I did not see him apply any great wisdom to my case as he only saw me for 30 seconds. This is not a racist statement (he is from Kenya and speaks with a heavy accent) as I have worked closely with many people from around the world and civility is a common social courtesy across cultures. #2 - I had been receiving injections as a part of a subcutaneous immunotherapy treatment from another health clinic until recently when I started coming in to the clinic for the weekly injections. I will never return. The nurse jabbed the needle into my deltoid and injected the serum into the muscle. This is an absolute no-no for this treatment as muscular injection increases the risk of anaphylaxis. It clearly states on the immunotherapy instructions issued by this very office that the "injections are given subcutaneously in the outer aspect of the upper arm and should not be given into the muscle." Granted, the nurse pinched my arm, but she released the skin prior to injecting the needle, which caused the needle to penetrate into my muscle. #3 - The day I arrived for my first injection at the clinic was the last day it was open as the staff was going on vacation for three weeks. Nobody thought to provide their patients with any advice on where to receive their injections in their absence, and I actually got a rude response from the nurse when I asked her. She replied with what amounted to "that's not our problem" and glared at me like I had asked her to stay behind for her three week vacation. Call me overly-demanding, but not only would I expect a professional office to give their patients advice where to receive treatment in their absence, but I would expect a much more civil response to this legitimate question. #4 - I am not a member of the health professionals community, but I can tell the difference between a disposable and re-useable needle. The Allergy Clinic re-uses their needles, and judging by the lack of professionalism displayed above, I am not entirely trusting of their sanitary methods. In conclusion, I will only return to this clinic for my mandatory follow-up exams and will never recommend this practice to anyone. Between the lack of professionalism and being treated poorly by key staff, I am loathe to return, but alas, this is where I was referred. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. O since 2009. Doctor O and his staff are amazing. I suffer from CHRONIC hives and angioedema and Doctor O is like my own personal doctor. If I am having an episode, Clare and Faye have always been able to fit me in for an appointment on short notice.
