Baked goat cheese
Marta M.

First time here on our date night list of places to try... The vibes and inside are very chill. I definitely think this is more geared towards pairing specialty cocktails and wine with food vs great food paired with cocktails. I don't drink alcohol so not necessarily for me, but they have great options (extensive list). That being said, the food was good! I really enjoyed the grilled octopus, fries and baked goat cheese. The midnight flan was also yummy - although I didn't necessarily like the raspberry sauce on top. The alchemist burger was ok, it was really wet (made the bun soggy and fall apart halfway thru). The bourbon bacon jam was a little too sweet for my taste but still not bad. Overall good service and very friendly staff. Not a bad experience.

Cozy, romantic, quaint vibe on a cold winter night - The Alchemist is great spot. We came here after some shopping in the area and were looking for some drinks before dinner. We were tucked away in a corner table and felt cozy. Interesting drinks, cocktails are unique, their small bites were a little limited but the cocktails were good.

Really just sorta mid for what it was. Service was not good. I walked into an empty bar. The older Asian looking bartender looked irritated I came in. Told me "sit wherever ". Maybe I misread the body language but he just wasn't friendly. I had two really good cocktails. The steak salad was average. I wasn't offered dessert so not sure if they had it or not. The couple next to me ordered a couple of drinks. They gave the girl her drink and never came back with the guys drink. The bartender came back like 30 minutes later and asked if they were good. The dude was like yeah will take the check and can you take the old fashioned off. lol they still charged him for the girls drink. The place is nice and eclectic inside. There are better places really close to there.

First time visitor - stopped in because I love their sister restaurant The Walrus Room. Overall vibe was great, wasn't super crowded which was good given they do not work off reservations more of a first come first serve style. Initial service was good, drinks and water were brought out within a reasonable time frame. Order some shareables, focaccia, beef kabobs, and fries. Food was delicious! Sadly, we cut our visit short. When our server came back around I asked for a drink, a margarita with a splash of chambord. Waited, and waited, by this time my water glass is empty and so is my husbands. She came back around a few times not noticing the empty water glasses and obviously forgot about my drink. It wasn't busy, because I could see her at the bar from my table. Finally got the check and did let her know she forgot my drink so we were wrapping up. Things happen but this is your job.

4.5 love this sophisticated hip spot with an eclectic crowd. Cocktails, food and service are always on point with something new to try or a well executed classic favorite. Relaxing and fun. A terrific salmon sandwich I can't resist ordering.

Smoke and Embers

I liked everything about our visit. We only had drinks, so I cannot speak for the food. The ambience is great, not too loud but enough vibe that you felt like you were out for fun. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was great, attentive even though he was working hard. I started with the Galloping in Guatemala, very good-lime, cucumber and gin. My husband had the Baptized by Fire, a fancy old-fashioned. He liked it enough. Then I had the Smoke & Embers, a smokey tequila old-fashioned with a hint of spice. That one I really loved! We had dinner reservations elsewhere but I would like to try some of their small plates. What we saw nearby looked very appetizing.

Swanky, sophisticated and worth it! I stopped in with a friend after another event for a glass of wine and a cocktail. They have all day happy hour on Tuesdays (love it!) so we got some meat and cheese. I asked the server for a gluten free option and she was knowledgeable and offered more veggies instead of bread. The marinated tomatoes are delicious, do not skip them! When it came to wine, the glass I ordered was not available so she described the substitute and I ordered that instead. Turns out it was not to my liking, the server was happy to swap out the glass for a different recommendation instead. When it came to ordering more substantial food, again the server was sure to ask about who was gluten free and made suggestions for each. I ended up with a shawarma bowl that was amazing! Absolutely would come back for that again or even just for a drink.

For a Tuesday night, The Alchemist was packed! We were lucky to grab a table as there was only one left when we arrived. The atmosphere is upscale, posh and modern yet warm and inviting. We discovered their Tuesday special is "Social Hour" menu items all day--we munched on delicious meats, cheese and accoutrement. The fact that their menu has the word "accoutrement" speaks volumes! Extensive wine menu along with delightful cocktails. Service was top notch!

The crab cakes are amazing. Loved the celery root purée and arugula. This is a trendy and vibrant little bar and restaurant in downtown Geneva. Super friendly bartenders. Kevin was amazing!!! The bartenders were experimenting with making new drinks and we got to try a concoction. Extensive cocktail and wine menu. It's a lovely place for a drink and meal. We enjoyed our visit here. If you are looking for an upbeat place to get a personalized dining experience in Geneva, make sure to stop by this one!

Always a super fun place to visit. From the drinks to the menu items, the Alchemist hs never disappointed. 5/5: The service is always great with helpful suggestions being made. The first time we went we sid off menu items.. a drink roulette suggested by our server, which was a ton of fun. Between us all I want to say we had 9 "mystery" drink orders. And all were very tasty. And the drinks continouly prove to change with the menu rotations. As well as being strong. 4/5: The food is also full of flavor and delicious. The octopus was fork tender and the foccocia was light with a nice outter layer. The food prices werent bad for the area, but it is more of a small bites kinda option. Still had a lot of flavor and was enjoyable. 4.5/5: The ambiance of the place was dimly lit, more intimate and very cozy. The first time we went was with a large party of about 14 people. I wouldnt recommend that unless you have reservations as this place is very small, but it was also accomodating. The other times ive been it was a smaller group and we had no issues getting seated. Overall I would recommend giving this place a try esp if you're a cocktail kind of person... and if you're not a fan of what they have to offer, see what they can do for you off menu or when the next seasonal menu gets rotated in.

What a fun night. Driven by this place many times but didn't try it until we found out they offered oysters. Just missed happy hour but still reasonable oyster prices. Had two types, PEI and Washington state. Well prepared. Had planned a tapas night - thought that's all they had - but they had burger and fries too. Nice options for non-alcoholic drinks as well - always good to shoot that out!

Mussels, pancetta, fries with parm.

The Alchemist is in the perfect part of Geneva. Great ambiance and we sat in the patio in the late afternoon. Creative drinks and wonderful food. Lovely service.

Such a cute and fun cocktail bar! They serve some food, but we just came in for a drink after lunch. Our server was friendly and attentive. He offered suggestions on what to get when I had questions. The drink menu has a little bit of everything! Anyone can find something to match their mood. I got some sort of lavender drink and it was absolutely delicious. Wish we had time for more! There are a row of small tables across from the bar. A small entrance are, and a little outside patio. This is a terrific place to meet up for a drink (or drinks) before or after a day spent shopping in the area!

It looks very cozy so I'm wondering if they can accommodate a table of 6-8 people? Does anyone know?

Yes, very easy. We had a party of 7 yesterday and they arranged tables for us outside. Great service overall!

It was just too hot sitting there and also noisy from the kitchen and orders being called out, etc. Asked (I think) the manager, Amanda, if there's any way we can move to another table cause we are just sweating and wouldn't be able to survive through dinner, haha! We also had our 83 year old grandma there so we were even more concerned for her well being. Amanda was accomadating with offering us a different table as long as we could finish in 90 minutes. I told her I'll take it! She felt bad for the time limit also, but I told her I appreciate her accommodation even more. The food and drinks turned out great and the service was superb along with a unique ambiance! Definitely recommend!

On my…read morevisit here, I had the opportunity to try two dishes off the shareables menu and was super impressed with both of them. Service was also quick and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

I'm sure that there were folks there who really wanted to catch the Yankees game. Anyway, the woman calling bingo was losing her voice and did not really add to the experience. (She was very friendly as opposed to the rest of the staff.) They allowed young children to sit at the bar for bingo, which surprised me and is uncool in my book if not illegal. I don't want to sit at the bar next to your hyper pre-teen. The food is self serve. You order via your phone. Pick food up at the kitchen window. Food was decent enough. Plastic utensils. The bartenders (and I was one back in the day) were inattentive. Asked the busboy, who sort of lurked behind the bar washing glasses from time to time, for a box to go and he pointed to a table set up for to go orders. Thanks, man. Charging a 3% credit card fee when you don't accept cash is absolutely lame. Yes, debit cards are free. I didn't see that until after I paid the bill. There is a pour your own draft system with about a dozen beers but that doesn't impress me. An undersized bags, bocce and putting green. Some decent new arcade games. I guess it works just fine as a Chuck E Cheese alternative with fewer games and a full liquor bar. I can safely say that I won't be going here again for a date night or otherwise.

I remember this place from the former restaurant which was not a culinary hit and maybe that was a reason bu Le Cochon is proudly representing a good french cousine. We did not have the reservation for Saturday night dinner but were seated at the bar where we had a great attendence from gentlemen from the bar. Atmosphere is cosy, with dimmed lights and the noise is moderate making it a good place for talks during the diner . They had a Spanish wines wine special where the bottle of wine started at $16 which is deal you do not find very often those days. We started with some appetizers: Oysters--Very , fresh crisp served with apple mignonette which was awesome Charcuterie; Pork Rillette, absolutely delicious. Dried sausage, very good quality. Pastrami de canard, another fantastic meat option I just wish they served 4 pieces for a couple which would be easier to share. Evrything was served with grain mustard , cornichons , jam and light crisps. Dinner: Macaronade Setoise-comfort food at its best, pasta was cooked al dente , tomato sauce was deep and rich and addition of sausage gave it that extra umami flavor. Beef Bourguignon--French classic. Beef was cooked well, served with vegetables and demi glace sauce. I wish there was bit more of the sauce around the potatoes but the whole dish was delicious and went well with Spanich Garnacha wine. We finished with Creme Brulee which was very good but I thing the sugar was schorched a little beyond the right temperature because it was a little bit bitter.
