What I enjoy most is the diversity of their classes, they offer a nice variety that are different from your average class. My personal favorite is the strength class which combines cycling with upper body weight training, guaranteed to kick your butt! Their bikes are too notch and easy to use. The facilities are very clean and well taken care of. At the beginning of each class you are provided a towel so you never have to remember to bring your own. They even have hair ties and bobby pins ladies if you need those. The studio is well air conditioned so you don't have to worry about overheating. I belong to a local gym which I love but the spin classes are unbearable due to lack of air and having fans blowing hot air around, but never an issue at Cycle Bar. Signing up is easy, you chose your classes online and sign up for the time slot you prefer. You can do the drop in price $18 which is pricey or you can get packages of classes-no monthly fees here. First class is always free and newbies can purchase a 3 ride package for $29 which is what I did. I like all the instructors by Jimmy is my favorite because of high high energy and he seems to make it a point to make sure everyone is ok. So here are just a few things that need improvement: parking, it sucks because you either need to park on the street and have to bring money for the meters or park in the church lot in the back and pray you don't get towed. Help for newbies: I've been spinning for years but I imagine that not everyone who walks through the doors has and I've never seen an instructor check to make sure everyone is comfortable and knows how to align the bike properly so that I think can improve. Lastly, they have these huge tvs that rank you while you're in class but no one cares about that! Maybe they could put some cool mountainous scenery or something of that nature instead.

Since then, the owner Brad has continued to evolve his gym both in supplies, training style, and employees. They offer affordable 1:1 training as well as group fitness classes that are effective and efficient. As a trainer myself, I love their method of using drop-sets, heavy weights, and functional movement/cardio.

I also realized that it was one more excuse that I didn't need to avoid exercising. A long time ago, I had a really good experience with a Personal Trainer, and decided that was what I needed to do. I came across Retrofit Studio reviews here on Yelp, sort of accidentally. I liked what I read from the reviews & their website. I liked the idea of a private studio too. I called Brad & set up a consultation. There is no doubt that Brad loves what he does & wants every client to be successful. He spent a lot of time listening & talking to me about realistic goals, nutrition, and what to expect. He decided to set me up with Mark, one of his trainers. So far, I have had 8 training sessions with Mark. When Brad said he was a good fit for me, he was right! My sessions are 30 minutes, 2 times a week. By the time I leave, I am a sweaty mess! Mark challenges me, makes sure I have good form, and always encouraging. If I don't do it right, I have to do it again. Every session varies to work different muscle groups, especially the areas that are difficult to target. As hard as he makes me work, I'm never too sore to exercise in between our sessions. That is important to me because I need to do my part outside of our sessions. Mark checks with me regarding my diet and what I'm doing to reach my weight loss goals between our sessions. I always have fun training with Mark even when it's really difficult. The studio itself is great. It's very clean, doesn't smell funky like a lot of gyms (ha!), and a great variety of training techniques & equipment. There are a few cardio machines for client use before or after a session. Every trainer is always encouraging clients, whether it's their client or not. What about results? I started to feel stronger right away and continue to feel that way. I'm steadily losing weight & seeing the jiggle disappear! My muffin top is shrinking! I asked my husband if he noticed any changes. The poor guy looked at me with slight fear of answering the wrong way. ha! I wanted an honest answer. I don't expect fast results, but I am curious if the changes I see are noticeable to others. He said that he has seen a big change. He said I have been a lot happier since I started training with Mark. I wasn't expecting that answer & it made me realize I haven't felt that way about getting in shape (or trying to) in a long time. It sort of made me all verklempt! This is one of the best decisions I've made in a long time!

Fuse45 is criminal in their business scheme - taking advantage of clients in the interest of earning an extra dollar. As an unlimited member you are charged $10 for a missed class on top of the $140 you have already paid for a month's worth of sessions. There was actually a morning where I was made to feel "lucky" for not having been charged the $10 for electing not to drive during a snow storm which caused local schools and businesses to close. Furthermore, you WILL be charged TEN days before the month begins with no means of skipping, pausing, or being respected as a person with conflicts on occasion - regardless of whether or not you sign a contract, so I strongly discourage you to provide credit card information as they seemingly do what they choose with it. I authorized a trial month at Fuse45, and when charged for the following month immediately contacted them and merely requested to put the month on hold as I was traveling and could not use the service. When the response was "no, we can't do that, it's against our policy" I immediately contacted my credit card company as 1) I did not authorize the charge and 2) could not be able to make the $140 worth it. At this point I have asked that all subsequent months be canceled as I will not support a business that does not support its clients and their individual needs. It is manipulative and in poor taste to charge customers for services when they have 1) communicated they do not want said service and 2) do not utilize the service.

A new day brings a new set of workouts and class format. Different instructors also help to spice things up! Jerilyn, Joe, Alison - I'm looking at you guys! All of the instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and really push you to do more. I love the formats of the classes. Each set is 45 seconds which is great for me because I get bored easily. It's helped me to realize that I can do anything for 45 seconds, no matter how hard it is. Since I have been attending classes regularly, I've been feeling much stronger, had more energy, and even decreased pain with a longtime shoulder injury. Not to mention, dropping 10 lbs (along with dietary changes). Even though the workouts are exhausting and take everything out of me, Fuse45 really has become my happy place. If you have been thinking about it, give it a try. Your future self will thank you :)

Unfortunately OTF Royal Oak Main has been the worst experience of them all regarding customer service / friendliness. Caught me by surprise since most studios are excited to have visitors and are very welcoming. I drove 30 minutes to attend class at Royal Oak Main because I loved the Coach and the class time, but I had to walk 5 minutes from the closest parking spot and was 2 minutes late. Therefore I was not let in to class that had at least 6 open stations. I understand there are policies, but I guess that's the amazing thing about my home studios! Find a home studio that will treat you as a friend & human being- wanting you to get your workout in as much as you do even if you arrive 2 minutes after class has started! I have never received this type of treatment or "cold shoulder" behavior from any OTF team member other than at this studio. So don't go out of your way to go to this one if you don't have to!

Warning : Hearing Damage Risk…read more Online comments: I recently used the NIOSH Sound Level Meter app. to see how loud OT classes were. Music was consistently in the 90-95 decibel range, and the coach's microphone was consistently in the 100 - 105 decibel range, sometimes 110. For 105 decibels, OSHA recommends no more than 19 minutes per week exposure to avoid hearing damage. I feel sorry for the coaches, as they are destined to develop hearing damage. It's also sad that almost all participants do not wear any form of hearing protection, and are putting themselves at risk for hearing damage/tinnitus. I have a minor hearing loss, but severely annoying tinnitus (tinnitus is not fun!). I always wear hearing protection during classes, and wanted to warn you all that you are at risk for hearing damage/tinnitus. My review is being posted after a conversation with someone in my family who is an ENT (Ear Nose and Throat doctor). She went to Orange Theory Royal Oak one time and again to Birmingham location and never went again to either places because of the music volume. I thought she was being dramatic until I went to see for myself. The music is dangerously loud. And I like concerts and loud music. I don't feel safe working out In OT royal oak. I don't want to get tinnitus (ear ringing that doesn't go away) or go deaf. Tinnitus is not fun. I knew someone who had it in high school and the constant ringing in the ears has some people wanting to commit suicide. There is a reddit thread on tinnitus if you are interested on the subject. It is enough to drive someone mad. And Orange Theory Royal Oak music volume WILL eventually contribute or cause tinnitus or hearing loss. I don't think I should have to wear ear plugs to get a workout. There is no reason the music needs to be so loud. It's unacceptable. And unless more people complain they won't do anything about it. I like the place and wish I could continue to go there but my hearing is more important. To all the people who dont think the music there is too loud - the truth is you probably already have compromised hearing unfortunately. And that came straight from an ENT.
