And parking was free in the lot across the street. Upon leaving, I noticed that there is also a parking ramp 1 block over too. The event didn't attract a real big crowd, so it was quieter than expected. So getting our tickets at will-call was fast. Walking into the theater, I was pleased to see the auditorium space. Any seat is going to be a good seat, and we happened to have 2 row tickets. The only downfall was proximity to the speakers. The show happened to be a comedy show, but I had a hard time hearing fast talk because of the microphone reverb. I was missing punchlines and not laughing. It was just too loud for "talking" when the mic was at your mouth. Now, there was a singing quartet in the show, and that was much better since they were standing about 2 feet away from the mics. Next time, I'd pick a middle row. After the show, we hit the restroom. Plenty of stalls for the ladies. It was clean and well stocked.

While the space was small, the impact was large. I loved the traditional artistry (the beadwork and shawls) mixed with contemporary struggles. It's incredibly important to me that Indigenous art continues to have a place in the Twin Cities. I'm grateful we have this space with such a welcoming group running it.

Todd Bockley and his Gallery Manager Emily Marsolek were a delight to meet and talk with. The Bockley Gallery location is super! Easy parking, street level access and close to other interesting shops and retail. I look forward to visiting regularly.

Our tour had about 10 people which was a good amount. I had a fun time trying to find the subtle differences in the stained glass windows. On street parking was easy. I will have to come back in the summer to see more of the outside and gardens. I'd also like to walk around the neighborhood. Beautiful area. Enjoyed this tour very much.

The Purcell-Cutts house is owned by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and is open for tours the…read moresecond weekend of every month. It was built in the early 1900s, and has been preserved (with the replacement of some of the original furniture with look-alikes) almost entirely as it was back then. The tours are very informative, and cheap too; $5 for non-members, free if you're a member of the MIA. Being that it's a turn-of-the-century house, it wasn't built to accommodate wheelchairs, unfortunately. Also, you should call ahead if someone in your party has trouble walking up stairs or standing for long periods of time.

The Minneapolis Art Institute is free. The Special exhibit is a special ticket that costs $$ unless you're a member. I went two days and I found free street parking not too far away. When I visited the Prairie Movement featuring Grant Wood and Frank Lolyd Wright I looked for Thomas Hart Benton... He was Missing in Action. MIA has several museum caliber pieces ( by Benton ), in storage. When I asked if they have any American Pop Art, the answer is Yes, but they were all MIA. In MIA's Not on View exhibit. When I asked about surrealism, they said if they have it, it's probably on the second floor. The Layout of MIA is by region and time period. The staff is very helpful at guiding me, but exact answers were challenging. Art is supposed to be for all. MIA has a massive collection, ten percent is on view at any given time. When you visit, you can type in the artist you are looking for on the website. Hopefully you'll be able to see what you seek.

The books ranged from witchy, spiritual, cooking, self-improvement, and crafting. There even appeared to be some groups and upcoming events! I was honestly shocked when the owner mentioned that the store had only been open for about a year. She could have told me the store was passed down through generations and I would have believed it after seeing and feeling the vintage cozy of the shop. The owner was friendly, the books and curios were intriguing, and the vibes were cozy. A must-visit if you are looking for a hidden gem bookstore!

It is a really well done event. The setting itself is gorgeous. If you haven't visited the museum/Turnblad do it now. But there's so much going on at this event that everyone can have fun. The bands were incredible. There were a variety of different art activities that you could participate in both inside and out. I liked that several of them related to the Main exhibit that is taking place there right now. They worked with Du Nord spirits to come up with four signature cocktails. We tried two of the four they were both excellent and the rest looked fantastic. They also had four signature mock tails. The food curated for the event also looked great but we made the mistake of eating before we went. The mood was festive and there were people of all ages from 21 on up there. I went with just one friend. I think it could've been even more fun if we brought a crew but either way I think it is an extraordinary sFriday night out with just a special someone or friends.
