When my son was younger we went to a couple of plays here and I remember them fondly. They did a great job. I should probably see what's playing and try to see a show again. The building is setup well with a coat check for the colder months, ample restrooms, and they always have beautiful artwork by different artists on the wall to enjoy while you wait to get your ticket taken. Since it's in the burbs it's a great deal with free parking in the nearby ramp or street parking and really only the cost of your ticket for a fun opportunity. Currently a group of girlfriends and I frequent this venue almost every month for the Hennepin County Library's Pen Pals event where they host different author talks. They do a wonderful job with a different setup for each author. Some give a lecture, some a presentation, others have had an interviewer in a conversation style. I've learned so much! In the last three years I've heard... Colm Toibin Bonnie Garmus Ed Yong Michelle Zauner Maggie O'Farrell Annette Gordon-Reed John Irving Kristin Hannah Anthony Doerr Viet Thanh Nguyen Brit Bennett Richard Powers Emily St. John Mandel A very impressive line up! It's not overwhelming but still a decent size auditorium. Definitely take yourself on an outing to this impressive spot.

And parking was free in the lot across the street. Upon leaving, I noticed that there is also a parking ramp 1 block over too. The event didn't attract a real big crowd, so it was quieter than expected. So getting our tickets at will-call was fast. Walking into the theater, I was pleased to see the auditorium space. Any seat is going to be a good seat, and we happened to have 2 row tickets. The only downfall was proximity to the speakers. The show happened to be a comedy show, but I had a hard time hearing fast talk because of the microphone reverb. I was missing punchlines and not laughing. It was just too loud for "talking" when the mic was at your mouth. Now, there was a singing quartet in the show, and that was much better since they were standing about 2 feet away from the mics. Next time, I'd pick a middle row. After the show, we hit the restroom. Plenty of stalls for the ladies. It was clean and well stocked.

Watch out Peter Lik, there's a new gallery in town and the kid is good!…read more Obviously John Knopf is no kid. In fact before even entering this gallery, one can tell by the facade and front display that he is experienced beyond his years. As with most high quality fine art, just a quick glance at a any piece in Knopf Gallery will pull you in and keep you studying it until you realize it's actually taken you to a different place. As stated on his website www.jknopf.com, John spans the globe in search of "The Perfect Shot" and brings it to intense life in his Gallery. All the while accompanied by his trusted companion Rylee both on photo excursions, and sitting quietly in the Gallery from time to time. John has had a camera in his hand since he was a young boy growing up in Arizona where he started with landscapes, foliage, and skylines. Although nature remains his first love, John has found himself to be the go to photographer for several Las Vegas entertainers. He walks freely on stage and around the showroom, as well as private engagements as photo journalist for Entertainers including Carrot Top, Frankie Marino, and Lorena Peril just to name a few. Have any questions for John? He is as approachable as he is talented and humble. You can find him at the Gallery during open hours daily. Unless of course he's off on another "hunt" for more. Aside from John's unique and diverse collection his Gallery goes a step further. Is that a baby grand piano? Sure is. you never know when a Las Vegas favorite on the keys will stop in and play for a bit. Cats like Patrick Sieben, Marcel East, and The Stratosphere's own Frankie Marino. You might even be able to talk John in to playing a quick ditty. Downtown Las Vegas has begun to boast a true art district. Make no mistake, it actually starts just north of Sahara on LVB at the Stratosphere in this must see Gallery. Don't leave empty handed. "It's not about the photo, it's about the hunt. Getting the shot, no matter what obstacles are in the way, make it worth it." - John Knopf

Our beautiful artwork just needed a beautiful frame! I searched online and read reviews for local frame shops. Your Art's Desire caught my attention right away. First because of all of the positive reviews I read. Second was the name! It's creative, unique and I loved it. I sent an email to enquire if an appointment was needed for a consultation and they responded immediately. We set up an appointment and they sounded genuinely excited to help us out with our framing project. This was our first professional framing experience. Thankfully, from the very beginning of our consultation we both felt comfortable with Ken and Melissa. They were friendly, and knowledgable without being intimidating. They listened to our vision and offered great suggestions without being "pushy". Melissa was helpful and patient as she showed us a wide variety of frame/mat options. Ken explained his process and helped to find products that were not only to our liking and in our price range, but also called to verify they were in-stock so we didn't have any unexpected delays. Together we came up with a solid plan. After sharing some great conversation we left and couldnt wait to see the finished product. Two weeks later we picked up our framed picture and absolutely LOVE it. It's big, it's beautiful, and we could not be happier with how it turned out. A huge thank you to Ken & Melissa for everything. If you are looking for a quality, trustworthy framing company we would highly recommend the talented Ken and Melissa at Your Art's Desire!
