I received a call from Madison and she was sweet and helpful, answering all my questions and scheduling a consult for the very next day, a Sunday! During my long appointment she did highlights and lowlights, with a gloss treatment, always checking with the owner on colors and timing. They were both concerned about getting it just right. I wish I'd taken a before pic as they nailed it! My hair felt soft, healthy and the color was perfect. I only need to go in every 6 weeks or so now, and I am so happy. They accomplished in one afternoon what I thought could take months. This salon is perfection when it comes to color or gray-blending. Thank you Madison!!

It's beautiful and comfortable and everyone I've met there is extremely professional and friendly. But second, I can't say enough good things about Jolean. After having my hair done by the same person for 25 years, I was nervous about finding my new person when I moved to Paso Robles about 8 months ago. Well, I've found her! Jolean is kind, sweet and a wonderful person. But she's even more impressive with doing hair. She's meticulous, careful, and has an excellent sense of what will look best with your type of hair, complexion, coloring, etc. She also listens to what you want and really integrates what she thinks will look best with what your goals are for your hair. I've seen Jolean three times now and I've been thrilled with my hair every visit. So if you are new to Paso like me and looking for your "person" or just visiting and would like to get your hair done for an event, make an appointment with Jolean. You won't be disappointed!

I could tell she truly cared about the health and integrity of my natural hair. Her color matching skills are amazing and the install itself was flawless. She also took the time to walk me through exact daily care and maintenance tips so I feel confident styling them at home, and she even followed up afterward to make sure I was loving them. The quality of the hair is gorgeous and feels so natural. 10/10 recommend this salon. Friendly staff all around.

I've recently started letting my hair be a bit more wavy (a few guilty aberrations back into heat…read morestyling aside, including for my Halloween costume), and decided to find a DevaCurl-certified salon to hopefully help my heat-damaged hair transition. Enter Spruce: I called and they were very accommodating (open on Saturdays!). I ended up with a Saturday appointment with Christine. I arrived for that appointment today, and was pleasantly surprised by the cute, updated interior of this house-turned-nail-salon-then-salon. Christine is cool, fashionable (not like it matters, but always admire a sense of style), super friendly, providing great conversation along with an excellent client experience. She offered me goodies/cookies, a variety of yummy beverages, and reading materials throughout-- just super nice and generous. I opted for a "curly cut" (Christine has a DevaCurl certification), which is a dry cut aiming to enhance waves/curls. Not only did she do a really wonderful job with my cut-- it's visibly so much healthier and has more volume-- she also did a wonderful job with the color that I opted for, giving me a rich brunette color that will be great for Fall and Winter. She was also accommodating enough to give me an impromptu (and perfect) brow wax when I realized it'd save me a trip to have it done there. I like my brows to be thick but even, and have some anxiety around this as I've had providers ignore my wishes and give me super thin brows in the past. She truly listened to what I wanted, and cleaned them up quickly and pretty painlessly (gotta love a gentle waxer!). As she washed the color out of my hair, she began to share with me exactly the products and techniques that she was using to enhance my natural curl, giving tips that would never have occurred to me. She gave me in depth instructions to style my hair exactly as she had, answering my questions and going really above and beyond. She shared products that she was using and why, but was never pushy or "sales-y" about it. Honestly, I actually liked what she used, so I'll go back to pick up a thing or two when I work through some of the products that I already have/like. I usually leave the salon joking about how "I'm going to enjoy it tonight, because it'll never look this good again!"-- but with Christine's guidance and literal hands-on instruction in styling my hair, I actually feel pretty darn confident that I can do her cut justice.

After losing most of my hair to meds last summer, it was time to just let the rest of it go. The new hair was coming in, and I looked like a lion with a rat tail if I tried to pull back what was left of my blonde scraggles. I'd had short hair before, and I know it takes someone who KNOWS how to cut short hair to get the job done right. I'd looked far and wide, and while many salons claimed to do short cuts, they either showed NO photos of short cuts, or didn't show anything that appealed to me. A short-haired friend referred me to Ashlan, and it was a piece of cake from there. My hair has always been straight, so what a wonderful surprise to come up not only short, but also curly! She handled that well, and I'm thrilled with the fresh, new look. Thanks, Ashlan! See you for touch ups!
