Loved it so much that we came here twice in one trip. The concept is extremely interesting - they only get 10 cases of each wine, and once that wine is out, that's it. I had a lovely Pinot Noir both nights, and the servers were great at recommending a wine for my mom when she wasn't sure what she would like. The plates are bigger than expected, so don't over order like we did. But at the same time, we are immensely glad we got to try as much as we did. The menu changes throughout the week as well, so you can always come back and try new things. Head's up - it can be get quite loud and rowdy here in the late night. If you'd like a more quiet ambiance, aim for a reservation earlier in the evening.

Wow yum yes. A prawn and bacon risotto small plate of big flavour

Everything you could ever want from a wine bar/restaurant: dynamic wine list, bargains, interesting wines and a great 'by the glass' wine list with nothing you'll find at a pub I promise. AND the food is really, really good. Unlike a lot of wine bars around town, this place has some serious food above and beyond the old toastie (not that I have ANYTHING against a toastie). There is jamon, and you can have cheese, and it's super hard to go past any of the small plates. The menu changes around with some pretty great looking specials (think hand made pastas and risotto). I find it hard to go past sharing some of the small plates. We shared the soft shell crab, polenta chips with truffle and parmesan, octopus (WOW), seafood and bacon risotto and a very, very moorish fennel salad. The bar comes in two halves. One is more restaurant-y with ten whites and reds to choose from (hence ten cases), and on the other side it's a bit more wine focused with a shelf of amazing bottles that you can grab and takeaway or drink in for £12 more. The have a space for 8 people for private events downstairs which looks on to the cellar which looks AMAZING. When it's nice weather, sit out on the street and soak up some sun (?!?) and the craziness of cov garden. Say yes to trying all of the wines and try something you don't usually drink.

Its finding places like these that make you appreciate having yelp around. From outside the Bistro looks nothing too fancy, is in a convent garden side street that's nowhere in particular and i would have passed it by had i not seen some earlier reviews on Yelp. This place was bustling for a Thursday night! We were warmly greeted at the door and ushered to our table by the open french doors. The waitress guided us through their rotating wine list and, after having trouble deciding, she said suggested we start with our lighter choice and she would return later with our second selection.....don't mind if i do! First impressions of the service was fantastic. The menu apparently changes daily and is handwritten on little chalk boards along the back wall (or if you have smartphone check out their website). They had plenty of small plate options which we will definitely return to sample, however, I decided on the pork belly with slow cooked red cabbage and mash and the wife got the crab linguine. Whilst not fine dining the rustic cooking in this place was excellent and we quickly polished off our entire plates. Our bill for 2 mains and 2 rounds of wine & service came to just over £70 which was very reasonable given the fantastic service we enjoyed. I'm a fan!

Friendly and savvy staff- this is a smallish restaurant with daily menu of interesting and assorted fare. Excellent quality- full wine bar. If I became a local- this would become a regular place for sure!

I started with the Camembert Frit (Camembert cheese coated in breadcrumbs, fried, and served with redcurrant and raspberry coulis). This was delicious! The cheese paired so well with the raspberry coulis and it was no greasy at all (perfectly fried). For my main course, I got the Steak d'Agneau au Romarin Grilled lamb steak with red wine & rosemary sauce (served with sautéed potatoes). This was delicious as well! The lamb steak was so tender and flavorful and the sauce went so well with it. The potatoes also went very well with the lamb. I have also had their Filets de Cabillaud Rôti (baked cod fillets with sun-dried tomato and cream sauce), served with leek and potato mash. This was excellent! The cod was so fresh and the sauce was to-die-for! I could have licked all of the sauce off of my plate (if it were socially acceptable haha). The sauce was so fresh and paired so well with the fish. The potato mash was also fantastic--perfect texture. For dessert, I had a rhubarb tart. This was delicious! I loved how the tart wasn't too sweet and I could really taste the rhubarb. The service was also excellent. The servers and managers were very attentive and considerate of my husband's allergies. They were super accommodating, which is the reason we came back again! The have a great price for their prixe fixe menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! In a nut shell, great service, excellent food, fair prices and great ambience!

The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Summary: Romantic, delicious, and worth every penny. Just dress up and come hungry!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.
