We stumbled into Thai World on a whim while walking by and were delighted when they said they could immediately take us. After more than three weeks walking around on European streets, we were both in a lot of need for some relief! We both wanted a 90-minute Thai massage and then added a 30-minute foot rub. For Americans at least, the price was certainly right. Like a lot of places in Prague, they take Euros or local currency as payment - but they ONLY TAKE CASH. All in, they charged us something like 150 Euros for all of that - less than half of what we'd pay at home for the same. For those who have never had one, a Thai massage is a little different. Yes, sometimes the women walk on you when you're lying on your stomach, though that didn't happen for me this time. It's basically a type of massage that focuses on puling at your muscles and providing relief by basically trying to separate each individual muscle fiber in your body. This Thai massage used no oil and she massaged me through my clothes. If you want oil, choose the oil massage. One caveat - if you are the type of person that needs privacy for something like this, this is not the place for you. The room where they do the massages has probably 10 different slots all separated by curtains, but you're basically being massaged next to someone else with just a curtain in between. The women chatter to each other and you can definitely hear conversations. So if you need more privacy than that, this is not the ideal place for you. Head in the door and up the stairs. Relaxation awaits. Cash only, so be prepared. Pay at the desk and off you go. I made an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome... there was plenty of space and assuming they had masseuses, you'd get right in. It's like they knew my feet were sore, got the Thai massage, but she worked on the legs and feet a bunch! Good pressure, came close to nodding off. It'd been a while since I had a thai massage and the prospect of getting bent like a pretzel sounded exactly like what the doctor ordered. Thankfully, this service is readily available in Prague, and thankfully I went with Thai World. Thai World is hardly the flashiest studio in town, which for me was a selling point. Ducking into a nondescript doorway and walking up a couple of flights of stairs, I was happy to leave behind the masses of tourists and relative chaos of Praha 1 during the holidays. While not fancy, the space at Thai World is soothing and calm, exactly what I needed after days of fighting out tour groups with selfie sticks. For about $33 USD, I was able to enjoy a 90 minute Thai massage in a private, mostly quiet space. The massage was quite good, as was the forced downtime. the price was more than right, I was able to walk in without an appointment, and I was fully happy with the massage. Having spent a whole day walking the beautiful streets of Prague, by the third day it was time to have a little 'me' time and Thai world was to be my haven. Centrally located near old town square, this is a really fantastic traditional thai massage place. For an hour massage the price was 600czk (about £20 - you'd be lucky to pay £50 in London!) On arrival they wash your feet and then they take you to a huge room with firm non-sprung mattresses on the floor. Curtains separate each one. You are asked to change into a t-shirt and what look like comfy pyjama bottoms before the relaxation begins The ladies are happy to be as firm as you ask them to be, and nothing beats having everything cracked into place.just a wonderful experience sigh. I was feeling a bit worked from 3 days of hiking and climbing in the Austrian Alps and took a chance on Thai World. I got the feeling that the fancier place up the street was a bit more of the light touch (tourist) kind of place not sports massage. Over the years I have had at least 50 Thai massages by 10 different people, so I am familiar with the technique and what works for me. I paid the 599 czk for a one hour massage. Thai World is set up like a traditional Thai place, nothing fancy. Yen (sp?) went to work and hit all of the sore spots in my calves and shoulders with me having to point her to specific areas of tension. I felt much better after she was done. read more

This was not what we were expecting. I've gotten massages in 5 different countries (including Thailand) and this was probably one of the least enjoyable ones. My wife and I got the 90 minute Thai oil massage. We were put in an open area divided by bedsheets on rods, laying on thin mattresses on the floor. The massage itself was more of a rub down than an actual massage. It was relaxing, I guess, but not what we were hoping/expecting. You could hear people taking the whole time, the doors opening and closing and street noise outside. The lack of a private room was a substantial drawback. I go to chinese foot and body massages a fair bit in NYC, where it's usually strong in strength and paying under 40usd including tips for an hour. After all the walking around in prague, the wife and I are aching pretty badly on our feet and legs. We saw many Thai massage places in old town, strength how Thai massages caught on in this particular city. There aren't many traditional Chinese reflexology places, or any that we came across. This place, Thai world, does not have a flashy storefront, no gimmicky fish tanks for folks to dunk their feet in and eat off the dead flesh detritus etc. it is hidden upstairs with a sign on the street. That's about it. The price here is 600czk per hr for foot, whereas the others are mostly 900 or 1000. Can't beat that. The ladies working here are primarily middle age Thai women, they know their shit ;) don't be alarmed if they start walking all over you while you are lying down on your belly. 4 nights in prague, we came to this place twice! read more

I'm still in the waiting room drinking a delicious cup of tea after my 1 hour Thai massage. It was insane! I've never had anything like it. It felt like yoga, a chiropractor, and a deep tissue massage all in one. I feel like she beat me to death and I went to heaven. She popped joints and rubbed out knots that I didn't know were there. It was a slightly awkward atmosphere, but it got really relaxing really quickly. It helped that I was next to the window, too, because I had a beautiful view of the clock tower. It's in old Town square and feels like a huge tourist trap. The lady I had was way too rough and grinded her knuckles so hard on my scalp that I had a headache for an hour afterwards. It felt like she was untrained and was freestyling the massage moves. This might be acceptable in a small town with no other massage parlors but with 2 other ones next door, you might want to carefully consider all your options. read more
